Story
Rollo is a mini jindo-mix. At 23lb, he is more similar to an Shiba Inu or basenji by size and nature. Funny enough, neither breeds showed up on his DNA test! He is 50% jindo and 50% other Asian dog breeds. Originally from South Korea, he came to us through a rescue when he was around 1 year old. He is very docile and enjoys other dogs. Not high energy but enjoys his walks and trips to the beach. He is good off leash at the park and will look for you as his main companion. We are looking to rehome him because we don’t believe he’s enjoying our new life with kids. He does not engage with our kids and now more or less hide out in our room. He enjoys independence and laying in the sun and that’s harder with kids around!

Story
*Note: Currently, Calcium is in Korea but she will be arriving in San Francisco once adopted. For more info about her or to submit an adoption application, please click here.BackgroundCalcium and her brother, Leetae, were rescued this spring from a city pound in Miryang, Korea. Since then, she has been living at our partner boarding house alongside other dogs, patiently waiting for her forever family.Personality and SocializationCalcium is a friendly, gentle, and easygoing girl with a lovely medium energy level. She enjoys playtime and outdoor activities but is never overly demanding. She loves people and happily seeks out affection, cuddles, and attention. In fact, her favorite thing to do is simply spend time with her humans. Whether it’s relaxing at home, going for a walk, spending time outdoors, or joining in on daily activities, Calcium is happiest when she’s with her people. As long as she’s by their side, she’s content. Also, she gets along very well with other dogs of all sizes, provided they are friendly and respectful. If another dog is overly dominant, pushy, or loud, Calcium prefers to quietly walk away rather than engage. She has a sweet and peaceful nature that makes her a pleasure to be around.BehavioursCalcium travels well in the car and has good manners during vet visits and baths. The veterinary staff even complimented her for being so calm and easy to handle. She is comfortable using both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty areas. While she is still gaining confidence with leash walking, she continues to make steady progress. Her future family should continue her training with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Calcium also enjoys toys and can happily entertain herself or engage in play with other dogs.Health and DietCalcium is microchipped, spayed, and fully vaccinated. She has been dewormed, receives monthly parasite prevention, and eats dry kibble. She has shown no known allergies.Ideal HomeWe are looking for a home with a flexible schedule, as young dogs should not be left alone for extended periods. Someone who works from home or is retired would be an ideal match. With her gentle, affectionate personality and easygoing nature, Calcium would do well with a wide variety of families, including first time dog guardians or those looking to add a second dog to their home. She is a wonderful companion with so much love to give, and her future family will be very fortunate to welcome her into their lives.*Note: Currently, Calcium is in Korea but she will be arriving in San Francisco once adopted. For more info about her or to submit an adoption application, please click here.

Story
*Note: Currently, Gongdol is in Korea, but he will be arriving in San Francisco once adopted. For more info about him or the adoption application, please click here.BackgroundGongdol and his sister, Gongsoon, were rescued from a neglect situation in Hwaseong this spring. The young siblings had been surviving outdoors with little care, relying on scraps of human food while lacking proper shelter and consistent access to clean water. Thankfully, they were brought to safety and given the chance for a better future.Since his rescue, Gongdol has been staying at a boarding facility with other dogs. Although his early life was far from ideal, he has blossomed into a happy, loving young dog who is eager to enjoy everything life has to offer.Personality and SocializationGongdol is an outgoing and affectionate boy who genuinely enjoys being around people. He quickly makes friends and is comfortable meeting new faces, whether they are men, women, or visitors. His cheerful nature and loving personality make him a wonderful companion. He loves attention and happily leans in for pets and affection whenever he gets the chance. Gongdol has a balanced energy level. He enjoys playtime and outdoor activities but also knows how to settle down and relax.Around other dogs, Gongdol is social and easygoing. He gets along well with canine companions and particularly enjoys playing with dogs who share his playful spirit. Running, chasing, and having fun with his friends are some of his favourite activities.Gongdol has not been introduced to cats, so we cannot say for certain how he would respond. However, with careful and gradual introductions, he may be able to live peacefully with a feline companion.BehavioursGongdol is a pleasant young dog who has adapted well to everyday routines. He enjoys going for walks and is comfortable exploring the world around him. He travels well in the car and handles veterinary appointments and bath time calmly. Like many dogs his age, Gongdol enjoys playing with toys and may occasionally chew on them as part of normal puppy behaviour. He currently prefers outdoor bathroom breaks.Because Gongdol is still young and has not yet lived in a home environment, it is difficult to predict whether he may experience separation anxiety. A patient family that provides structure, guidance, and positive reinforcement will help him settle successfully into his new life.Health and DietGongdol is neutered, dewormed, fully vaccinated, and receives monthly parasite prevention. He is in good health, has no known allergies, and has not required any medical treatment beyond routine veterinary care. Gongdol eats kibble twice daily and has a healthy appetite.Ideal HomeGongdol would do best with a family that has the time and commitment to help a young dog continue learning and growing. A home where someone is around for much of the day, such as a person who works from home or is retired, would be especially beneficial as he adjusts to family life.He could thrive as the only dog in the home if he receives plenty of companionship and interaction from his people. He would also be happy sharing his home with another friendly dog who enjoys playtime and socializing. Gongdol has overcome a difficult start in life without losing his happy spirit. Now he is ready to find a family of his own and begin the life every dog deserves.*Note: Currently, Gongdol is in Korea, but he will be arriving in San Francisco once adopted. For more info about him or the adoption application, please click here.

Story
*Note: Jinhae is in Korea now but once adopted, he will be flying to San Francisco. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.BackgroundJinhae was found as a stray in the rural outskirts of Paju and was facing euthanasia before being rescued and taken into shelter care. He was fostered for about two months with a couple in an apartment, but was sadly lost during that time. Miraculously, he found his way back two months later, a true testament to his resilience and spirit. He is currently living with other dogs and waiting in the shelter for his forever home.Personality and SocializationJinhae is an affectionate and cuddly boy who loves nothing more than being close to the people he trusts. He may be a little shy at first, but once he warms up, he will shower you with kisses, lean into you, and wiggle his way under your arm asking for more pets. He tends to be more comfortable with women initially and may take a little longer to warm up to men but once he does, he is just as loving and playful with everyone. He simply needs a little patience and consistency.Jinhae gets along well with other dogs, particularly those who are gentle and respectful. He is not a fan of dogs that are overly hyper, dominant, or vocal, and will simply walk away rather than engage.BehavioursJinhae walks on leash well, though he may get a little nervous in new environments. When he feels unsure, he tends to freeze rather than react. He is fine with baths, grooming, and vet visits. He may get a little nervous, but he trusts his humans to handle things and has never shown any aggression. He experiences mild car sickness but nothing severe. He has no separation anxiety or destructive behaviour.Health and DietJinhae is spayed, up to date all vaccinated. Dewormed and microchiped. He had a dental scaling done in February 2026 and has had no other medical procedures or surgeries. He is currently in good health with no known conditions. Jinhae is currently on a standard dry kibble diet.Ideal HomeJinhae would thrive in a calm, patient home where he is given time to decompress and build trust at his own pace. A home with a woman would suit him best, though a gentle, patient man with dog experience would be absolutely fine too. A house in a quiet neighbourhood would be ideal, though he has also done well in an apartment setting. A busy downtown environment would not be the right fit for him.He can live with other dogs as long as introductions are done carefully. He would do best with adopters who understand the Jindo temperament, loyal, sensitive, and deeply bonded once trust is established. If you are looking for a dog who will become your shadow and your biggest fan, Jinhae is your boy.*Note: Jinhae is in Korea now but once adopted, he will be flying to San Francisco. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.

He currently lives with other dogs at the shelter while waiting for his forever home.Personality and SocializationArthur is a gentle and friendly dog. He approaches new people without much hesitation and is comfortable being handled. He enjoys physical affection and will gently paw at you if he feels he is not getting enough attention.Around other dogs, Arthur does well and has been good with the dogs at the shelter. He enjoys the company of dogs who are friendly and respectful of his boundaries. If another dog is too hyper, pushy, or constantly in his face, he may growl to communicate discomfort, but he has never caused trouble or started fights. Arthur would do best with calm and well mannered dogs rather than young, overly energetic, or dominant dogs. He has no experiences with cats. BehavioursArthur does well on walks when the environment is calm. However, he can become nervous around busy roads or large crowds. He rides well in the car without any fuss. Vet visits and bathing go smoothly because he trusts people and follows their lead without resistance. He is comfortable staying in his kennel and keeps his space clean. If someone tries to grab him suddenly or handle him too roughly, he can become scared.Health and DietArthur is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on his vaccinations. He also receives monthly parasite prevention. In the summer of 2025, Arthur underwent surgery for gastric volvulus. He has fully recovered and is healthy. He does not require any medication or special diet, but it is recommended to avoid vigorous exercise right after meals. He eats standard dry kibble with no known food sensitivities and happily accepts treats.Ideal HomeArthus would be happiest with a family living a peaceful and quiet life in a residential suburban area rather than in a busy downtown city. He would do best with someone who enjoys a calm and relaxed lifestyle, can spend time with their dog, and enjoys daily walks together. Arthus does not ask for much. He is a gentle soul who will simply be happy being near his people and sharing a quiet life with them.*Note: Currently, Arthur is in Korea but will be arriving in San Francisco once adopted. For more info about him or about the adoption application, please click here.
