We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Personality: Koda is cheerful and energetic. He can be a bit competitive with dogs at a similar energy level but is gentle with older dogs. While he has built a strong bond with his foster, he can be wary of strangers. He should not be let off-leash as he avoids capture or close contact without it. He is generally cautious in new situations but shows resilience and adapts well over time. Koda does well with both children and adults. He may be nervous at first, but after 4–5 days he warms up and becomes affectionate. He has a tendency to chase stray cats, so living with cats may not be suitable. Car Rides: Travels well in the car without issues. Housebreaking: Prefers outdoor potty. Alone Time: May whine a little and bark at outside noises, but settles down. Leash & Walks: Currently in leash training. He may try to run after birds or small animals, so caution is needed. Coming from a street life, he is wary of cars and waits for them to pass even from a distance. - Koda is shy at first, but adapts quickly and shows strong affection once trust is built. - Shows some “one-person dog” tendencies, bonding closely with the foster. - Naturally energetic and active due to his young age, but he has good self-control. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Personally: He gets along very well with the dogs he lives with. However, when meeting smaller dogs outside, he sometimes approaches them a bit too eagerly, so he is currently in training to improve his manners. After meeting a couple of times and becoming familiar, he does well. Since he’s still a puppy, he is continuing consistent training. He can be a little timid, but he absolutely loves people. More than treats, he prefers physical affection and bonding time with humans. He is incredibly sweet and loving. With children: No particular issues. He does not show any preference and is generally comfortable with everyone. With cats- There is a cat in his foster home. He shows curiosity but he does not show any aggression. Car rides- He stays calm and rides very well. He has been crate-trained for car rides since he was young, so he travels comfortably in a crate. Potty train- He uses pee pads indoors. For poop, he goes outdoors 100%. Recently, he has started preferring outdoor potty more. Left alone- He stays calm and quiet when alone. Guarding behavior- No guarding behavior toward people. He calmly allows people to take things out of his mouth. Even if another dog takes his toy or food, he doesn’t react. He likes people more than treats or toys. Leash: He’s very curious and loves walks. He happily goes anywhere and enjoys exploring.

**About Ed:** Ed is an international rescue all the way from South Korean. While "international adoption" might sound like a major undertaking, we have years of experience streamlining this process to make it as smooth as possible. We’ll be right by your side to explain every step! The Journey Home Once your application is approved, the final step of Ed’s journey begins. Adopters are responsible for picking him up directly from a major international airport. Common arrival hubs include: West Coast: SFO, SEA, LAX. East Coast & Central: JFK, IAH 🐕 Personality: Ed is a high-energy, playful boy who absolutely adores other dogs. He gets excited pretty easily, and it's pure joy and fun. With new people, he's curious but takes his time warming up. He doesn't bark or bite. Having another dog around helps him feel more comfortable approaching new humans, and once he gets to know someone, he's totally happy going on walks with them even without his foster (he's done up to a 2-hour walk with the foster’s friend!). He's not bothered by such noises like, cars, motorcycles, horns, washing machines, and doorbells. He loves toys, especially squeaky rubber balls. Just keep an eye on him with cloth or soft rubber toys since he might chew them up and swallow pieces. He prefers playing with you over playing alone. When the foster showed him RC/remote-controlled toys, he seemed to be scared. When left alone, he just relaxes in his spot. No mess, no destruction, and no separation anxiety. He doesn't bark at home or outside, and when you return, he greets you happily and quietly. He loves food. He eats his kibble with no complaints and enjoys meats like beef and chicken, plus veggies like pumpkin, cabbage, broccoli, cucumber, carrots, and watermelon! No known food allergies and he happily eats whatever treat you give him. He sees kids of all ages on walks pretty often, but he doesn't pay much attention to them and tends to step away if they approach. Not interested in cats. He didn’t pay attention to stray cats during walks. He drools a little bit, but he has no fear of cars! He hops in and out on his own as soon as you open the door. He loves looking out the window, and if he's tired, he'll just lie down and nap. 100% outdoor potty! He goes out about 4 times a day. No guarding behavior. He loves toys so much that he might eye a toy another dog is playing with, and he loves treats, but he never snatches or fights over them. At home, he might hold onto a toy or a sock and not want to let go, but it’s just playfulness, not defensive guarding. If you pet him gently instead of pulling, he'll softly drop it. If the foster takes food from him, he just gives it up easily. He does great wearing a leash, muzzle, or raincoat. He pulls a bit at the very start of a walk, but we're training on this. When you stop, he sits politely and waits until you move again. When running, he matches your pace, and he has a great recall (comes back about 9 out of 10 times!). Since he likes to nibble on grass and tries to pick up things off the ground, so the foster is currently putting a mesh protective muzzle on him during walks.

His energy runs at a comfortable, moderate pace, up for a good walk or a play session, but just as happy to settle in beside you afterward. He has no unusual barking habits.Compatibility: Pippi treats everyone the same. Men, women, children, it makes no difference to him, he warms up quickly.Pippi generally gets along well with other dogs, especially calm, well-mannered ones he can relax around. He’s less patient with dogs that get loud or hyper in his space. He approaches new people without much hesitation and is comfortable being handled. He enjoys physical affection and will gently paw at you if he feels he is not getting enough attention.Around other dogs, Arthur does well and has been good with the dogs at the shelter. He enjoys the company of dogs who are friendly and respectful of his boundaries. If another dog is too hyper, pushy, or constantly in his face, he may growl to communicate discomfort, but he has never caused trouble or started fights. Arthur would do best with calm and well mannered dogs rather than young, overly energetic, or dominant dogs. He has no experiences with cats. BehavioursArthur does well on walks when the environment is calm. However, he can become nervous around busy roads or large crowds. He rides well in the car without any fuss. Adoption Fee: $650 There are some Chows who walk into a room and immediately demand to know who is in charge. And then there is Orange Chicken, who walked into rescue, took a few days to decide that this whole “people and houses” thing might actually be okay, and then basically said: “Ohhhh. THIS is the good life!” Orange Chicken is an 11 month old, 35-pound female Chow Chow who came to us from a breeder situation. She is a beautiful girl with a youthful, spunky personality that has been absolutely delightful to watch emerge. When Orange Chicken first arrived, she was very shut down and understandably unsure of her new surroundings. For the first couple of days, she mostly stayed tucked away in her kennel, quietly taking everything in. But this girl didn't stay there for long. Day by day, she began to realize that she was safe, that her new people were kind, and that there were some very interesting dogs around to show her the ropes. And once Orange Chicken decided she was ready to participate in life? HELLO, ORANGE CHICKEN! Her personality started popping out everywhere. She loves to frolic around the yard, explore her surroundings, and follow the resident dogs from room to room. In fact, her foster's senior dog has basically become her personal tour guide, emotional-support Chow buddy, and GPS system. If he goes somewhere, Orange Chicken wants to know where. If he disappears, she goes looking for him. Apparently, Orange Chicken has decided that wherever he is must be where the party is. She absolutely loves other dogs. Her foster family says watching her with their dogs is one of the sweetest things about her. Even when the little 7-pound resident dog wasn't quite sure what to make of this much larger fluffy creature, Orange Chicken was wonderfully gentle and simply went off to find something else to do. Which is pretty impressive when you're a 35-pound Chow and your tiny roommate is giving you the canine equivalent of: “Excuse me. You are TOO BIG.” Orange Chicken's response? “Okay! I'll go find my other dog.” She's playful and youthful without being wild, and she has a wonderful curiosity about the world. Watching her transform from that initially shut-down girl into a happy, frolicking, curious Chow has been incredibly rewarding for her foster family. She also does beautifully with affection once she is comfortable. She may not immediately throw herself into someone's lap, but she has learned that human hands are pretty nice and happily allows her foster family to carry her, pet her, hug her, and show her affection. And that is what makes Orange Chicken so special. She's a girl who is learning how wonderful life can be. She is already making huge strides, and we think the right family is going to watch her confidence continue to blossom. She would especially love a home with another friendly dog who can be her buddy and help her feel comfortable as she continues experiencing all the things she missed out on earlier in life. She has already mastered some very important skills, including going in and out of the house, following her dog friends around, and being comfortable in her crate. She's still learning the finer points of being a house dog, but she's making progress. She hasn't even gotten to the really fun part yet. The world is still new to Orange Chicken. She hasn't discovered everything there is to discover. She hasn't perfected the art of being spoiled. She hasn't yet learned that there are people out there whose entire purpose in life is to tell a beautiful Chow how pretty she is. But she's getting there. And when she starts trotting around the yard with that happy little Chow expression, following her dog friends and exploring her world, you can see it: Orange Chicken is happy. She is sweet, gentle, curious, youthful, and wonderfully spunky. She needs a family who will give her time to continue building confidence and who understands that a Chow who has had a big life change may need a little patience while she figures everything out. Give her that patience, give her a canine companion if you can, give her a secure yard to explore, and most importantly, give her love. We have a feeling Orange Chicken is going to give you a whole lot back. Because this girl has gone from hiding in the back of her kennel to frolicking through the yard like she owns the place. Our Sweet, Fluffy Appetizer!  Everyone loves a good Crab Rangoon… but we think Crab Rangoon the Chow Chow might just be the best one yet! Crab is a beautiful 4–5 year old female Chow Chow, weighing 38lbs, who is learning that life can be pretty wonderful when you have kind people, cozy places to lounge, tasty treats, and plenty of time to simply be yourself. She is a calm, quiet, independent girl with a gentle personality and watching her slowly come out of her shell has been one of the sweetest things to see.  When Crab first arrived, she was understandably a little unsure about things. She likes to take her time observing the world around her and deciding what she thinks about it. She isn’t the type of dog who needs to be the center of attention every second. Instead, she prefers to sit back, watch, explore, and enjoy the day at her own pace. And honestly? She may have discovered the secret to a pretty peaceful life.  Crab absolutely LOVES her walks! The minute her people come home or head outside in the morning, Crab is watching closely because, in her mind, it must obviously be time to go for a walk! She gets excited and will happily follow along. Once she’s out exploring, she likes to take her time, stopping to sniff, investigate, and see what interesting things the world has to offer. She isn’t a dog who needs to race around, she’d much rather take a leisurely stroll and enjoy all the smells. And then there are the treats. Crab is a girl with very refined taste buds. She has made it very clear that not every snack deserves her attention. Greenies? Pass. Fake bacon? No thank you. Random dry treats? Please don’t insult me. But put some real beef, chicken, or chicken jerky in front of her, and suddenly you have her full attention! She definitely believes that if you’re going to offer a treat, it better be worthy of a five-star review.  One of the most heartwarming parts of Crab’s journey has been watching her realize that affection can be pretty great, too. She is warming up to belly rubs and ear scratches and has started showing her belly when she wants some attention. That may seem like a small thing, but for Crab, it’s a beautiful sign that her trust is growing. She’s also recently started showing more of her playful side! When her people come home, Crab has begun getting playful and silly, giving us little glimpses of the personality that’s been hiding underneath that beautiful fluffy exterior. It’s almost like she’s saying, “Okay… I think I like you guys. Maybe we can have some fun now.”  Crab is also doing wonderfully with her two smaller, middle-aged male doggy roommates. She is incredibly mellow around them and originally preferred to simply leave them alone, but she’s now starting to play with them! Watching her become comfortable enough to engage with them has been another wonderful milestone. For the most part, Crab is a quiet girl who doesn’t feel the need to announce herself to the neighborhood. She doesn’t bark much and spends a lot of her day peacefully roaming around the yard, following her people from place to place, or finding a comfortable spot to lounge and take in the view.  She’s only really spoken up a couple of times, once when a neighbor’s dog was barking and once when an adorable little puppy came near and Crab got excited enough to join in. And when she gets excited? That playful side comes out, and it’s absolutely adorable.  Crab isn’t an overly energetic dog, but she does enjoy getting out for her walks and exploring. The rest of the time, she’s perfectly content to relax. She would make a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a calm, quiet, easygoing dog who doesn’t need constant entertainment. Most importantly, Crab needs someone who understands that trust takes time. She isn’t looking for someone to rush her or expect her to become an instant cuddle bug. She wants someone patient who will allow her to continue discovering the world at her own pace. This one-eyed beauty is discovering how good life can be, one backyard adventure at a time. A Girl with Her Own Pace When Broccoli Beef first arrived in her foster home, she kept her distance and quietly watched everything around her. She wasn’t interested in food, toys, or treats. As she’s grown more comfortable, her personality has begun to shine: she now picks up plush toys and trots around the yard with them, cautiously accepts treats from a hand, and has become a devoted fan of cheese. Broccoli Beef is independent and doesn’t demand attention. She may choose to sit nearby, though, and if you offer a scratch behind her ear, she’ll lean in to let you know you’ve found the spot. Watching her trust grow has been one of the sweetest parts of getting to know her. Her Kind of Day Broccoli Beef’s favorite place is the backyard. She prances through it with the wind in her fur, chases squirrels and birds, then finds a shady spot for a well-earned nap. Inside, she’s a relaxed lounger who enjoys her crate and occasionally ventures out to explore the house. On weekdays, she heads into the yard around 6:30 a.m., has breakfast, and settles into her crate while her fosters are at work. They return around 4 p.m. for a mile walk and backyard time. She eats dinner around 6–7 p.m., takes one last potty break around 8:30, and sleeps through the night in her crate. She also does well with longer walks on weekends. The Things She’s Learning Broccoli Beef is fully crate trained and mostly housetrained. She does best with prompt access to the backyard, since she hasn’t been peeing or pooping on walks. Fear can also cause accidents, particularly during car rides. Walks are still a learning experience. She may start out with a burst of zoomies, then settle into a sniff-filled stroll after a couple of blocks. She needs a short leash and an attentive person to guide her safely, as she may wander toward the street. People passing too close can startle her, though she generally walks past other dogs without barking. She rarely barks, doesn’t chew or dig, and has been good with visitors. She does occasionally have an opinion about the television, but settles when someone sits near her crate. Her Ideal Home Broccoli Beef would love a home with a secure backyard where she can enjoy her daily trots and shady naps. She’ll thrive with patient people who let her build trust at her own pace and respect her space.  Broccoli Beef doesn’t need her people to rush her.
