Story
Meet Mong-sil! She is the sweetest most adorable girll! She is a 6 month old that was rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea.  We have partners we work with there that pull these dogs from the worst horrors imaginable.  Many of these dogs start off in horiffic puppy mill type facilities on tiny rabbit cage size wire crates in complete filth.  If they are not sold at 6 or 8 weeks then they either stay for a couple years to be used to breed more and then are sold off to the meat trade, or they are sold off right away.  Jindo's and Tosa's are the most common meat type dogs, and are very commonly bred specifically for their meat and the meat farms also act as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the only countries that actually farms dogs for their meat.   Restaurants will serve a dish called " bosintang ", which stands for "dog meat soup". It's a popular dish in South  Korea,  and is said to act as an aphrodisiac for men.    Little dogs are used for elixirs and potions.  The younger generation is mostly against this practice and many choose to not eat them, and we can only hope in time with education and generations of change that an end will come to this horrific trade.  Mong-sil and some of her family and friends have been flown here for a chance at a future and a real life.  These are miracle dogs that they are alive today.  Our adoption fee is $600 which helps offset some of the flight costs.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application form at  https://form.jotform.com/oscarlucy/dog-adoption-app January 21, 2026, 5:38 pm

He is a 9 month old that was rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea. He is playful and curious, loves the company of other dogs and enjoys playing with all kinds of dog toys, often carrying them around the house. He loves following his favorite human around the house. He likes gentle belly rubs and all kinds of treats.  He connects best with females- can be shy with men that are tall or deep voice, and enjoys calm and quiet environments, with lots of toys to play with and treats to enjoy.  He is a very gentle kind soul. . Story
Currently in Korea, waiting for his forever home in 🇺🇸 🐾 Background William was rescued from a slaughterhouse in Ilsan in the summer of 2021. It was a terrible place, but he survived. After his rescue, he spent four long years in a local shelter without finding a family of his own. Knowing how gentle and friendly he is, we moved him to our partner boarding house this winter to give him a better chance. Since then, William has been living peacefully with other dogs and settling in very well. 🐾 Personality and Socialization From the moment he arrived, William has shown himself to be very gentle and friendly. He was not afraid of the new environment and adjusted surprisingly well without any issues. With a medium energy level, he is calm and polite around other dogs. He especially enjoys being around gentle dogs, but he generally gets along well with everyone. If another dog is too bossy or overly energetic, William simply walks away quietly. With people, William is social and not shy. He is comfortable with both men and women and enjoys calm human companionship. He is a mellow boy who prefers a quiet and peaceful environment. Although William has no experience with cats, he may be able to live with one given a slow and proper introduction. 🐾 Behaviour William walks well on leash and enjoys spending time outdoors. He can feel a little nervous when cars pass by, but he recovers quickly. He does not require a lot of exercise and is happiest with relaxed walks and time exploring outside with his people. He does well during bath time and rides calmly in the car. Indoors, William is quiet, well mannered, and easy to live with. He prefers to do his potty outside and overall has a very calm and gentle nature. 🐾 Health and Diet William is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on vaccinations. He receives monthly parasite prevention and has shown no allergies so far. He eats dry kibble twice a day. 🐾 Ideal Home William is a smart, loving and gentle boy who would do well in many types of family settings. He would be happiest in a home that enjoys a quiet and relaxed lifestyle but also values daily walks and outdoor time together. Whoever adopts this mellow, gentle, and loving boy will be very lucky to have him. 🔗 Become his forever family today through link below: https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/william-2/

Story
Currently in Korea, waiting for her forever home in 🇺🇸 🐾 Background Dalie spent her early life chained outside a rural home, used as a guard dog. When she gave birth to seven puppies, it became clear that the environment was not safe for her or her babies. Thankfully, the owner agreed to surrender them, and we were able to bring the whole little family to safety. She has been living at our partner boarding house ever since, surrounded by other dogs who have helped her feel safe again. 🐾 Personality and Socialization Dalie has a calm medium energy level and gentle nature. She gets along well with other dogs, especially those who are quiet and polite like she is. She prefers to observe rather than play rough, and she keeps her distance from dogs that are overly pushy or high energy. With people, Dalie is very sweet and trusting. Even when she had her puppies, she allowed staff to handle them. She enjoys soft attention and simply being near her humans. Since arriving at the shelter, she has been loving with everyone she meets and appreciates a peaceful hangout. 🐾 Behaviours Dalie has been easy from day one. She never causes trouble and avoids conflict. Car rides are still new to her, but she has handled them surprisingly well. She is relaxed for baths, brushing, nail trims, and vet visits. She enjoys going for walks and spending calm time outdoors. She prefers to potty outside. So far she has shown no separation anxiety, no destructive habits, and no concerning behaviors. She truly is a gentle and mellow soul. 🐾 Health and Diet Dalie is spayed and up to date with her vaccines. She is dewormed and on regular parasite prevention. She eats kibble without issues and has shown no signs of allergies. She is healthy and ready to go home. 🐾 Ideal Home Dalie is a sweet, smart, easygoing girl who will make a wonderful companion. She still has some learning to do, but her soft and eager to please personality makes things easier. She would be a good match for almost any family looking for a loving companion. A home where someone is around often would suit her best, as she enjoys company and quiet together time. 🔗 Become Dalie's family through link below: https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/dalie-2/

Ready to board his flight to LAX 🇺🇸 Background: Ohoh’s life hasn’t been easy. As a tiny puppy, he was found wandering in an apartment complex in Wanju, Korea. This summer, Ohoh finally came to us and has been living at our boarding house, where he is safe and loved while waiting for his forever family. Personality & Socialization: Ohoh is a gentle, sweet, and loyal boy with a calm, easygoing nature. Behaviour: Ohoh is well-behaved, obedient, and very smart. He bonds strongly with people and follows their lead easily. He rides calmly in the car, tolerates bath time, and is cooperative at the vet. He walks nicely on a leash, enjoys outdoor potty breaks, and is quiet indoors. We’ve rarely heard him bark. With a little training, Ohoh will blossom into a wonderful lifelong companion. Health & Diet Ohoh is neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on his vaccines. He is dewormed and on monthly parasite prevention. When first rescued, he was treated for anaplasmosis, and he has since made a full recovery. He’s in good health and ready for his forever home. Ohoh eats dry kibble twice a day and has shown no allergies. Ideal Home: Ohoh will thrive with a family looking for a calm, gentle, and loyal companion.
