Story
Meet Red! She is the sweetest most adorable girll!  She is aan 11 month old that was rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea.  We have partners we work with there that pull these dogs from the worst horrors imaginable.  Many of these dogs start off in horiffic puppy mill type facilities on tiny rabbit cage size wire crates in complete filth.  If they are not sold at 6 or 8 weeks then they either stay for a couple years to be used to breed more and then are sold off to the meat trade, or they are sold off right away.  Jindo's and Tosa's are the most common meat type dogs, and are very commonly bred specifically for their meat and the meat farms also act as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the only countries that actually farms dogs for their meat.   Restaurants will serve a dish called " bosintang ", which stands for "dog meat soup". It's a popular dish in South  Korea,  and is said to act as an aphrodisiac for men.    Little dogs are used for elixirs and potions.  The younger generation is mostly against this practice and many choose to not eat them, and we can only hope in time with education and generations of change that an end will come to this horrific trade. Red and some of her family and friends have been flown here for a chance at a future and a real life.  These are miracle dogs that they are alive today.  Our adoption fee is $600 which helps offset some of the flight costs.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application form at  https://form.jotform.com/oscarlucy/dog-adoption-app August 19, 2026, 1:06 am

Story
Nari is a female white coat 5 year old, mixed Jindo dog. She is approximately 40lbs and she is spayed and microchipped. Nari is a playful, active, and a sweet dog that needs a new home. She loves to go on long walks and get belly rubs. Nari is a bit wary of strangers at first, but she appears to do well once she gets to know you. She was originally my father's dog and he no longer lives in the country. We have tried to meet her needs, but we work long hours and are away from home for a long time. Nari loves to chase squirrels and has been known to jump the walls of our backyard despite efforts to prevent this. She needs a home where she can be active, and given the appropriate attention and stimulation she needs. I am hoping to rehome her to a good home. I do not want to surrender her to a shelter.

Story
*Note: Currently, Leetae is in Korea but he will be arriving in LA on Aug 21 once adopted. For more info about the dog, or the adoption application, please click here.BackgroundLeetae and his sister, Calcium, were rescued this spring from a city pound in Miryang, Korea. Since then, he has been living at our partner boarding facility alongside other dogs, patiently waiting for his forever family.Personality and SocializationLeetae is a friendly, gentle, and easygoing boy with a lovely medium energy level. He enjoys playtime and outdoor activities but is never overly demanding. He loves people and happily seeks out affection and companionship. In fact, his favorite thing to do is simply spend time with his humans. Whether it is relaxing at home, going for a walk, spending time outdoors, or joining in on daily activities, Leetae is happiest when he is with his people. As long as he is by their side, he is content.Leetae gets along very well with other dogs of all sizes, provided they are friendly and respectful. If another dog is overly dominant, pushy, or loud, he prefers to quietly walk away rather than engage. He has a sweet and peaceful nature that makes him a pleasure to be around.BehavioursLeetae travels well in the car and has excellent manners during vet visits and baths. The veterinary staff even complimented him for being so calm and easy to handle. He is comfortable using both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty areas. While he is still gaining confidence with leash walking, he continues to make steady progress. His future family should continue his training with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Leetae also enjoys toys and can happily entertain himself or engage in play with other dogs.Health and DietLeetae is microchipped, neutered, and fully vaccinated. He has been dewormed, receives monthly parasite prevention, and eats dry kibble. He has shown no known allergies.Ideal HomeWe are looking for a home with a flexible schedule, as young dogs should not be left alone for extended periods. Someone who works from home or is retired would be an ideal match. With his gentle, affectionate personality and easygoing nature, Leetae would do well with a wide variety of families, including first time dog guardians or those looking to add a second dog to their home. He is a wonderful companion with so much love to give, and his future family will be very fortunate to welcome him into their lives.*Note: Currently, Leetae is in Korea but he will be arriving in LA on Aug 21 once adopted. For more info about the dog, or the adoption application, please click here.

Story
Note: Currently, Jino is in Korea, but will be arriving in LA once adopted. For more info about the dog or to submit an applicaiton, pleases click here.BackgroundJinu was one of six puppies born to a mother dog who was rescued from euthanasia. Jinu was an adorable puppy, but he was born with a congenital deformity in his left front leg. It is shorter than his other legs. Despite his difficult start in life, he has grown into a happy, playful, and affectionate dog. He currently lives at the shelter with his siblings and many other dogs.Personality and SocializationJinu is a very friendly, outgoing, and affectionate boy. He is great with strangers and is usually the very first dog to run over and greet new visitors with a wagging tail. He loves attention and happily leans in for pets and affection. He gets along well with both men and women and is comfortable around adult men. Jinu is very social with other dogs and spends every day playing with around twenty other dogs at the shelter. Sometimes, however, he can get a bit overwhelmed if larger or stronger dogs are too pushy. He would do best with gentle dogs in a peaceful environment rather than at a busy dog park.BehavioursJinu loves to run and play and moves around without any difficulty. He is quick, active, and enjoys exploring. He has not had many opportunities to ride in the car, but he handles car rides well. He also cooperates nicely during baths and veterinary exams. He walks well on leash and enjoys spending time outdoors. Jinu is both indoor and outdoor house trained.Since he has always lived with his littermates and other dogs, it is difficult to know whether he experiences separation anxiety when left completely alone. At the shelter, however, he sleeps by himself at night without any problems.Health and DietJinu is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, fully vaccinated, and receives monthly parasite prevention. He is healthy and ready to find his forever home. He eats regular dry kibble and has no known food allergies.Jinu was born with a shorter left front leg. This congenital condition does not require any special treatment. He walks, runs, and plays confidently without pain or limitations. The vet says regular exercise will help him build more muscle and make walking even easier. His unique little leg is simply part of what makes him special.Ideal HomeJinu would love a family looking for an affectionate and social companion. Someone who works from home or is retired and can spend plenty of time with him would be an ideal match. He thrives on human attention and will happily greet you every day with excitement and love. He could do well in a home with another gentle and friendly dog or as an only dog, provided he receives plenty of companionship, exercise, and enrichment.Jinu has overcome a difficult beginning and is now ready for the happy life he deserves. All he needs is a family who will see beyond his little leg and love him for the wonderful dog he is.Note: Currently, Jino is in Korea, but will be arriving in LA once adopted.
