Story
We’re looking for a loving new home for our 11-month-old dog. She is incredibly sweet and does well with other dogs, cats, and kids. We’ve made the difficult decision to rehome her because we believe she would thrive in a more active household. With three dogs, we’ve realized she would be happiest with a family who can give her more one-on-one attention and keep her engaged. She would make an amazing hiking buddy or companion for someone with an active lifestyle. She is a Border Collie mix, fully potty trained, crate trained, up to date on her shots, and spayed. This isn’t an easy decision for us, but we truly want what’s best for her and believe she’ll flourish in the right home where she can get the attention and activity she deserves. She also has an active wellness plan through Banfield pet hospital.

These pups are in Lone Tree, Colorado too!

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Litter of 5 (2F, 3M) transferred from 806K9S in Texas at approximately 2.5 months old. Mama was on the euthanasia list in a shelter when she gave birth to 1 puppy and was given a chance to be pulled by rescue. The family was pulled and in foster until transfer. Mom will be transferred to CPR at a later date if she is not adopted in TX. Came with the name "Peter." - Fully crate trained - Early stages of potty training From the foster: Hi! I’m Petey! I’m super playful, sweet, and full of personality. I love belly rubs and snuggles, and I’m pretty talkative and expressive—I’ve always got something to say! I’ve got a goofy side (you might catch me splooting on the floor or giving you my best head tilt), and I love being right in the middle of whatever you’re doing. I may be a little guy now, but I’ve got a big bark, so I’ll make a great little protector. I’m currently working on my puppy skills like potty training and basic commands. I’ll need some continued support with potty training (I tend to do little pees here and there), but I’m really comfortable in my crate, so I do just fine when you need to step out. I also love watching TV—seriously, I’ll sit back and hang to watch with you like one of the family! I get along great with other dogs (I’ve been doing awesome with my foster’s dog!), but I haven’t been around cats or kids just yet. Based on my big paws, it looks like I might grow into a pretty big boy, so I’d do best in a home with a yard where I can stretch my legs and play. I’m looking for an energetic, loving home that will help me keep learning and growing into the best boy I can be. I’d love a yard to run around in with a family who will give me cuddles, structure, and a little guidance while I finish learning my puppy manners. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion with a playful, goofy side and a face you’ll never get tired of— since it’s different on each side! I just might be your perfect match! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Litter of 6 (3M, 3F) transferred at approximately 3 months old from the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley in NM. Litter was found running loose as strays. From the foster: The Tale of the Chocolate Prince Who Nearly Stole a Heart Forever 🐾🌟 Gale~ 599 There once was a little enchanted prince with the warmest amber eyes you had ever seen—eyes that shimmered like golden honey in the sunlight and somehow looked straight into your soul. Wrapped in a rich chocolate coat so handsome it seemed painted by magic itself, he arrived quietly… and almost caused the greatest ruckus of all: A foster fail. And oh, how close it came. Because from the very beginning, this little prince had a way of stealing hearts without even trying. He wasn’t just beautiful—though everyone noticed that immediately. He was the kind of beautiful that came from within. The kind that made you smile when he gently curled beside your feet, or looked up at you as if you were the most important person in the world. On walks, while other puppies might tumble through distractions, this sweet prince had already begun learning the magic of companionship. When it was time to stop, he would sit patiently by your feet, calm and steady, as though he had always known that adventures were best when shared side by side. He loved people—all people. Strangers quickly became friends, and every human he met was greeted with warmth, curiosity, and trust. Though still just a puppy, there was already something remarkably wise about him. Intelligent, observant, and deeply connected, he watched closely and looked to his humans for guidance as though he understood they were his safe place. His days carried the gentle rhythm of structure and success. Yard time meant potty breaks like a champion. Playtime was joyful and full of puppy wonder. Kennel time? Easy. Peaceful. Almost unbelievably chill for such a young pup. He settled beautifully, showing a confidence that felt far bigger than his paws. Stocky, strong, and wonderfully engaged with the world, he moved through life with the heart of a brave little adventurer and the soul of an old friend. For the last week, he has shared his kingdom with his beloved sister, learning and growing side by side. Like any prince setting out on his own journey, he may need a little patience as he discovers his confidence without her nearby. But truthfully? It’s hard to imagine him struggling for long. Even with the joyful distraction of his sister, he has always turned back toward his human, checking in, listening, and bonding quickly with the people who love him. This enchanted prince is the kind of dog who doesn’t just join a family—he becomes part of the story. The hiking buddy. The loyal shadow. The calm companion at your feet after a long day. The dog who somehow knows exactly when to lean in closer. And if you’re wondering whether he might steal your heart? Fair warning. He already stole one forever. 💛🐶 www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
