Sammy is a special dog! He's loyal and protective and very sweet! Sammy doesn't like toys. He prefers treats and ear rubs! He takes his time with walks smelling all of the things. He's been in my little family for 6 years and has been a member of our extended family for 10 years. He's my first child and was there when I had my daughter. My daughter calls Sammy her brother! Circumstances have changed and it's with a heavy heart that we need to rehome Sammy. He's gotten a bit older and needs a little more care as my health has declined. Sammy has arthritis in his back legs. What's best for Sam is someone who can take time with him. He needs more attention than I can give. I'd love for him to have an enclosed outdoor space. He’s a gentle, shy boy at first, more of a “take it slow and let me come to you” kind of guy, but once he feels safe, his loving personality starts to shine. Jovi does well with other dogs, though he does best with ones who respect his space when he needs it. He walks on a leash but may need a little patience in new places as he gains confidence. Currently Sammy lives with 3 other dogs, one small dog and two large dogs. He does well with all of them. We are unsure of how he would do with cats since he has not been around them.
