This beautiful lady is a gentle soul. Despite going through some tough times recently she is sweet as can be. She had terrible matting that caused her to limp but is feeling much better after having them cut off though it has left her with a lopsided haircut. She also recovered from a nasty case of kennel cough and is feeling so much better. She is still coming out of her shell but would likely appreciate a quieter house or apartment where she could just sit by her people. She enjoys being pet and will politely give you a little lick to ask for a pet or to thank you for the pets. She is housebroken and well behaved. We haven’t tried a crate with her but there’s been no need as she doesn’t get into trouble or seem anxious when left alone. She has only barked a few times and all have been to let us know someone is at the door. She gets excited to go outside but so far only wants to explore the yard a little or walk down the street a few houses and then is happy to head back home. She is still confused by stairs but is working on it. She also seemed to not understand dog toys but did enjoy a snuffle mat. Not sure what type of dog she is but she looks almost like a miniature Irish setter and she has some wiryness to her fur that fits with that breed too. She is just under 50lbs now but will hopefully add a few more. Estimated to be six years old. Because of the kennel cough we haven’t had much of a chance to see how she does with other dogs but we think she will be friendly and polite. We don’t have a cat but she had no interest in the cats we saw at the vets office. She does give squirrels the evil eye though and intensely smells our yard where there are rabbits. If you are looking for a wonderful companion to keep you company and who is calm and not yappy this may be your girl! Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Meet Mocha! Mocha is a beautiful 3-year-old Labradoodle with a BIG personality and an even bigger heart. She is the outgoing, confident, Type - A girl of her bonded pair, and she has never met an opportunity to get your attention that she didn’t take! Mocha is deeply bonded with her little sister, Maggie, and these two girls must be adopted together. They have been inseparable for all three years of their lives and have never been apart. Mocha is definitely the more outgoing of the two and is often the one leading the way, with Maggie happily following along. If Mocha wants some love, she doesn’t simply tap your hand like Maggie does. Nope! Mocha will wrap both front legs around your arm and pull you right in. She absolutely adores pets, cuddles, belly rubs, and being close to her people. She’s also protective of her little sister and her humans, always keeping an eye on the ones she loves. Mocha has a sweet little self-soothing routine, too. Her doggy bed is really more of a giant pillow in her eyes. She loves to circle around on it and curl up for a cozy nap. That special pillow is her security blanket and a favorite place to relax. When she’s not cuddling, Mocha is ready for FUN! She loves to chase squirrels… and Maggie is usually right behind her. She absolutely loves a good game of fetch. Tennis balls, sticks, or dog toy…if you can throw it, Mocha will happily chase it down and bring it back. She also has an important mission with stuffed toys: removing every. single. squeaker. Mocha is also the water lover of the pair. She especially enjoys drinking from the hose and is always happy to find a little water fun. And food? Mocha is VERY food motivated! Healthy doggy treats are always appreciated, but she also enjoys carrots, cantaloupe, apples, and watermelon. Doggy ice cream is an especially exciting special treat! Both Mocha and Maggie know basic commands and are sweet, loving girls who enjoy being with their humans. Mocha can be barrier reactive, and both girls are very strong on leash. Because of this, we are recommending a home without small children and a home with a securely fenced yard where they can safely enjoy their outdoor time. Mocha and Maggie are a truly special pair. They love each other deeply, and the lucky family who adopts them will get double the love, companionship, and Labradoodle fun. Adoption Information: Mocha and Maggie must be adopted together. Meet Maggie - Maggie and Mocha are a sweet bonded pair who are looking for a loving forever home together! These two are deeply attached, and Maggie especially adores her big sister, Mocha. Where Mocha goes, Maggie happily follows. Maggie is a gentle, laid-back three-year-old Labradoodle with a goofy side and a heart full of love. She’s the quieter, more mellow one of the pair and is perfectly content simply lying at your feet just to be close to her people. When she’s happy, she loves hopping onto the bed or couch and rolling around for attention—often with all four paws in the air! Maggie is a serious cuddler and loves being petted, especially behind her ears and getting belly rubs. And she’s not shy about letting you know when she’d like a little more attention. If you stop petting her before she’s ready, she may gently tap your hand with her paw or nudge it with her nose. She’s also food motivated and thinks healthy treats are wonderful. Some of her favorite snacks include carrots, bananas, cantaloupe, apples, and watermelon. Doggy ice cream is an extra-special treat! Maggie may be a follower, but she has plenty of personality of her own. She’s sweet, affectionate, goofy, and happiest when she’s near the people, and especially the dog she loves. She and Mocha are a package deal and will need a family who understands the importance of keeping this special bond intact. Both dogs can walk on a leash, but are very strong. Story
Daisy Mae is a six year old Labradoodle who needs a home with a strong owner. We got Daisy Mae in February, 2026, from a single mother. She wasn't able to give Daisy much time or attention as she is a nurse working shifts and her daughter is involved in many school activities. My aunt and I lost one of our two Standard Poodles to cancer in December, 2025, and we wanted a friend for our remaining poodle who was grieving for his sister. We heard about Daisy, met her and took her home in February, 2026. We have discovered Daisy is strong willed and stubborn and intelligent. At first, she seemed to fit well with Brecken (our Standard Poodle) However, she is possessive and jumped on Brecken when he went to the toy box. She has shown teeth when she REALLY doesn't want to do something like give up an object or warn another dog that gets too near her toys. She snaps "air" but has never bitten. She was corrected verbally. Brecken is afraid of her. Situation needs to be changed.

Story
Our family has had Dexter since he was about six weeks old. He is now about 1.5 years old. He is a very sweet and loving boy. He is really good with kids and loves to play. He has a lot of energy. He is house trained and knows basic commands such as sit, stay lay down. He responds to his name. We are rehoming him because we simply do not have enough time to give him the attention that he needs. He would thrive living with a family that has a large fenced in backyard, he loves to run around and play.
