Story
Hi! I'm Fancy! Well for now at least. I am not really a "fancy", but my foster mom isn't sure what my name SHOULD be yet and honestly, I'm just happy to be around her so I don't care what she calls me. I will LITERALLY answer to ANY name she calls me! I am a young girl, probably 2-3 years old or so. I weigh 33 pounds and am full grown. I appear to be something called a "Labrador" and a "Whippet". I don't know what that means, but I am a petite muscular girl and I am super athletic. I LOVE my people, but I am scared of strangers. See at one point, I taken in by someone who kept a bunch of dogs and loved us, but couldn't care for us. I was not spayed and so I got pregnant and had to have my babies outside. When my owner had to move, me, my 6 babies, and my 30 or so fellow dogs had to find new places to live. Thankfully FHS was able to take my family and 7 other dogs in. My puppies were all adopted and now it is my turn. However, I had lost my trust of people. I am gaining it back, one person at a time. Once I am comfortable with you and at home, I am HAPPY! I love to play in the yard and run zoomies outside. I am a snuggler and I love scratches from my people. I am very treat motivated and I know exactly what time breakfast and dinner is. I love my fluffy blankets and I will stare my foster mom if my blanket is in the wash. I also LOVE exploring new places , hiking, and going on car rides. I enjoy playing with other dogs and, while I do not need another dog in my forever home, I would do best with a housemate. I do get nervous when my family leaves me behind (I do fine in a crate, but I will bark), but if I have a housemate nearby I am happy. I am not sure if I am good around cats or kids yet. I am mostly housetrained, but I will need a family who can keep on top of it for me. If I need to go and no one is around to listen to my signals, then I will go in my house. I do NEED a fenced in yard. I am very loyal to my person, but I can get scared of new things and new noises so it is safest if I can have a fenced in yard while I am outside. Story
Hi! My name is Goldenrod but my friends call me "Goldie" or "Gold". I LOVE running and playing in the yard. Fun fact: I have a heart shaped spot at the top of my head! If my foster mom let me, I would be outside all day taking sun baths, looking at birds and, of course, getting a nap or two in. I have been told that I'm a "good boy" because I'm learning to sit, walk on the leash, sleep in the crate, wait patiently for my food- oh, that's my favorite activity, eating! I think I'm doing pretty good with all of this learning I've been doing. I've socialized with so many dogs in just a week and a half. Big dogs, small dogs, puppies like me, senior dogs, you name it. I'm still learning boundaries as I like to lick their faces when we are playing. Where I am they use this thing called a vacuum. At first, I was a little worried it would eat me but then I realized, it only eats stuff from the floor so all good! I'm still waiting for my forever family to love just as much as I promise to love them. I have grown up with some kids coming over to my former home and I was good with them, but just like all puppies I will need an adult to teach me some boundaries when playing with little kids. I have not been around cats yet, but I think that I would do well with them. Goldenrod is part of our “Yellow Litter”. He and his siblings are from two yellow lab mix parents who are both around 65 pounds or so. We are not sure what they are mixed with since both parents look very much like yellow labs. We expect him to reach about the same size one fully grown. He is about 3 1/2 months old and weighs 28 pounds. If you are interested in adopting Goldenrod, please fill out an application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY/Dog **Applications can take anywhere from 5-7 business days to complete. Story
Meet Rapunzel 🐾✨ With her soft eyes and gentle spirit, Rapunzel is a sweet, shy puppy who’s just beginning to discover how big and exciting the world can be. At 3–4 months old, this 3/4 German Shepherd and 1/4 Labrador mix is expected to grow into a beautiful medium-to-large dog, likely around 55–65 pounds full grown. Rapunzel didn’t have much exposure to new people early in life, so she can be a little timid at first—but with patience and kindness, her personality truly starts to shine. She’s already making great progress and grows more confident with each new experience. Once she feels safe, she absolutely loves snuggling up on the couch and happily chewing on her favorite toys. She does well with kids and other dogs after a proper introduction and would truly thrive in a home with another confident playful dog to help show her the ropes. Rapunzel is still learning leash skills and will need continued guidance as she builds confidence out in the world. Because of her shy nature, Rapunzel is looking for a home with experienced dog owners who understand how to support and gently guide a puppy as she grows. A fenced yard will help her feel secure, and a social environment—where she can continue meeting new people and dogs at her own pace—will be key to helping her blossom into her best self. If you’re patient, understanding, and ready to help a sensitive pup grow into a confident, loving companion, Rapunzel is ready to start her next chapter! Story
Meet Liam! Liam is a handsome 6-year-old Pointer mix searching for his forever home. He’s the kind of dog who can do it all — he’d make a fantastic hiking or running buddy, but he’s just as happy being a relaxed homebody. Whatever your lifestyle looks like, Liam is ready to be right there with you. Liam is wonderful with kids and cats and currently lives with both. He also shares his foster home with teenagers and absolutely adores every little kid he meets. His gentle, loving nature makes him a great family companion. When it comes to other dogs, Liam is dog selective. He does best with calm, laid-back canine companions and isn’t a fan of high-energy puppy antics. In his foster homes, he has done well with older, easygoing dogs — especially when attention is shared fairly. Liam loves his people and wants to be included, and if another dog is getting all the affection while he’s left out, he may politely (or not-so-politely) remind you that he’s still there. Ideally, he’d love to be the center of attention or live with a mellow dog who enjoys doing their own thing too. Liam prefers spending time with his humans rather than engaging in dog play, and he thrives in a home where his need for companionship and balance is understood. Give him love, consistency, and a cozy place to land, and he’ll return it with loyalty and affection. If you’re looking for a devoted, adaptable, and kid-loving dog who can join you on adventures and relax by your side at the end of the day, Liam could be the perfect match If you are interested in adopting Liam, please fill out an application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY-A-1277 **Applications can take anywhere from 5-7 business days to complete. Story
Meet Prancer! Prancer is a 2½-year-old mixed breed with a story full of resilience. She originally came to us as a tiny puppy alongside her litter, “Santa’s Reindeer,” and was adopted into what we hoped would be her forever home. Recently, she found her way back to us after being picked up by Animal Control. Sadly, we were unable to reach her previous adopters, so we don’t know what life looked like for her over the past two years. What we do know is who she is today—and she is absolutely wonderful. Prancer has been back with her original foster family for the past few weeks and has settled in beautifully. She’s now ready to find a true forever home where she can feel safe, loved, and secure for the rest of her life. This sweet girl has a big personality and an even bigger heart! She loves to play and will happily keep you entertained with fetch or tug-of-war for as long as you’re willing. She is fully house trained, sleeps well in her crate, and has excellent house manners. Prancer is independent and trustworthy when left alone and is not one to get into trouble. She gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends to play with. Around cats, she is cautious but respectful. Once playtime is over, Prancer is all about affection and will happily snuggle up beside you. Prancer is fully grown, weighs about 45 pounds, and has regained most of the weight she lost while at Animal Control. One of her siblings had a DNA test done that showed approximately 31% Pit Bull Terrier, 28% Rat Terrier, and 13% Golden Retriever, with smaller amounts of Chow Chow, Beagle, German Shepherd, and Rottweiler. Prancer also has a naturally short docked tail, and several of her littermates had varying tail lengths as well. After an uncertain past, Prancer deserves a future filled with consistency, love, and happiness. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and well-rounded companion, Prancer may be your perfect match! If you are interested in adopting Prancer, please fill out an application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY/Dog Applications can take 5–7 business days to process.
