He is an exceptionally loyal, loving companion who bonds closely with his people. Smart and eager to please, he knows his basic commands and has excellent house manners. He does not chew and is respectful in the home. He is in great health, up-to-date on all vaccines, and professionally groomed regularly (records available). He loves fetch, toys, walks, swimming, and is active when engaged, but settles well in calm environments. With adults and visitors, including strangers, he is friendly and accepting. He would do best in a home without small children, as he struggles with patience and trust around little humans. This is the primary reason for our rehoming decision. He can be anxious and may bark when he has visual access to outside activity. He gets along well with most dogs and regularly interacts positively with both small and large breeds, though rare territorial incidents have occurred, so thoughtful introductions are important.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. A year ago, we adopted Moose (Lab/hound) from the Atlanta Humane Society. He was quiet at first, but as he grew comfortable, his personality slowly came out. As he settled in, we realized just how energetic he truly is. At first, we thought it was puppy energy, but after a year of training, it’s clear this is simply who Moose is: a goofy, people‑loving, dog‑loving, American‑cheese‑obsessed ball of energy. We adore him, but we don’t run, don’t have a yard, and don’t have the time he deserves. Moose needs a family with kids to play with, space to run, and experienced dog owners who can match his energy. He's one of the sweetest dogs we’ve ever met. He never meets a stranger, loves cuddles, and is a sucker for sitting on a couch and looking out the window or completely sticking his head out of the car window on car rides. His favorite things are bones and lots of love. We’re hoping to give him the fuller life he deserves.

Bijou is a sweet little Poodle mix. He is about 2-3 years old and weighs 10 pounds. He was found dumped on the side of the road in a crate with another dog who has since been adopted. Bijou was matted and terrified when he arrived at Tiny Paws. It’s been a long road but he has made excellent progress and come such a long way in his foster home, but is still quite shy when meeting new people. Bijou is sweet and affectionate to his foster mom. He is so excited to see her that he gets the “tippy tappies” and that has become his nickname. He loves his foster siblings and we are requiring another confident dog in the home that can help show him the ropes! At this time, we are also requiring a home with a fenced yard for him. ******************** Preference is given to applicants located within the metro Atlanta area.
