Story
Cookie is a gentle, sweet-natured dog who has come such a long way since being rescued from a puppy mill. She may greet new people with a big, protective bark, but once she realizes you’re a friend, she’s all about love and affection. ❤️ She’s been wonderful with our 5lb Yorkie for over 2 years and has also been gentle and patient around our infant daughter. Cookie has never shown aggression — she just wants reassurance and companionship. She knows her basic commands (including an adorable “paw” handshake!) and would thrive with a family that can give her a bit more activity, attention, and brushing than we can right now with a new baby. Cookie does have a gorgeous, fluffy coat that requires regular brushing, but in return, you’ll get a beautiful dog who’s both loyal and full of love. Cookie’s ideal home: • Someone who can give her daily exercise and playtime • A family or individual who enjoys a loving, protective dog • A home ready to keep up with her grooming needs

Story
This handsome Doodle is Judd! He arrived at the shelter as a lost boy on 10/27, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim him. Judd is now hoping for a new, forever home where he will be loved and kept safe so that he never ends up back in the shelter. The volunteers describe Judd as friendly and calm in his kennel. He is playful once outside and LOVES toys! He also knows several commands including sit and lay down. If Judd sounds like the new BFF you've been searching for, please come meet him! Judd is approximately 3 years old, and weighs 79 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and did test negative for heartworms. He will be neutered and microchipped upon adoption. Judd is waiting to meet you in run 79; his ID # is 14688. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
I got Cartier from a breeder when he was 8 weeks old. He’s the sweetest boy, and has a crazy tennis ball drive. He loves to be near you, and loves going to dog daycare. He’s been going to daycare since 6 months, and has been loved and adored since he came into our lives. He’s trained, and has been groomed since 6 months. We decided to add another dog into the family, and that is things took a turn. Once she outgrew him he no longer was nice to her. He regressed in training, and became shut off. Having to have them separate at all times had been very hard. I feel like he needs to be the only dog, or a smaller dog with boundaries and patience. Quiet, but active and is willing to dedicate the resources to retain him so he can live out the rest of his life in peace and comfort. Having a giant breed puppy has caused him stress, and this isn’t the outcome I would have seen for my baby boy.

Story
Hello everyone, I'd like to introduce Slick, a sweet and energetic boy who loves to run, jump, and play. Unfortunately, Iv'e recently faced a series of health challenges, including hospitalization and emergency surgery, which have temporarily prevented me from working. Thankfully, my boyfriend has been providing invaluable support with bills and caregiving. After much discussion, we have decided to investigate rehoming options for slick, prioritizing his well-being and seeking a family that can offer him the attention, care, and love he deserves. We are looking for someone who can offer the same level of love and care that we do, and it's sad to rehome a sweet dog, but due to the unpredictability of my epilepsy condition, I am currently unable to provide the necessary care and attention. - Lab/ Pit mix - Crate Trained. - Conyers, Ga.

Story
Adoption Fee: $200 Physical appearance: Annie is a 12-year-old chow/Pitbull/Labrador mix. She is a medium size dog and weighs about 50lbs. She has the most adorable crinkled ears and her eyes will melt even the iciest of hearts, Personality: Annie just wants you to love her 24/7. She is a total sweetheart and will look at you like she is staring deep into your soul. She does great with the dogs in her foster home, even the testy one. She also ignores the cats. Annie can be quite protective of her foster mom if she thinks something is dangerous, and her bark is a great deterrent. All Annie wants is to sit in your lap, stare longingly into your eyes and sneak a gentle lick now and then. She LOVES breakfast and dinner and even with her age, will get a major pep in her step and try to jump as her foster mom walks her food bowl over. You know she's super excited when she nibbles and nips at your fingers while she trots by your side. She is an amazingly sweet girl that is just looking for the home to let her live out the rest of her days. Why she’s in rescue: Annie was found by one of our volunteers when she ran out in front of her car.  It took no coaxing at all to get her into the car and she was taken to the shelter to be scanned for a chip. The owner was located but stated Annie was old and he didn't want her anymore. The volunteer refused to leave her at the shelter (who could blame her!) and offered to foster her if we would find her the forever home she deserves. Manners and training: Annie is potty, and crate trained, but she will have an accident in the house if not let out often.  She's older and just can't hold it like she used to. She is not destructive in the house and can be left out of the crate if someone prefers. She will also wear diapers without an issue. When her foster mom goes out she just naps on the couch or on the memory foam dog bed. She walks well on a leash but does need help getting in and out of the car. Vetting: All our dogs are brought up to date on rabies, Bordetella, and combo, negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms, neutered and microchipped before adoption. Annie does have arthritis so steroid injections now and then help keep her pep in her step and reduce any pain. She has a couple of lumps and bumps but they have all been biopsied and found to be benign. ##1810664##
