Story
This gorgeous girl is June Bug, our friend from The Rescue Project. She's a lab mix and about three years old. But more importantly, she's a happy girl is so much fun! June Bug isn't just pretty. She has the smarts, too! She's very willing to work for people she likes (and food, she's willing to work for food). June Bug particularly enjoys showing people that she knows shake with both paws, as she's perfected that skill, and knows she'll get ... food! She likes learning new things, so go ahead and teach her all the fun stuff to help keep her mind busy. June Bug can be cautious around new people and things, but give her a chance and show her you're one of the kind, good humans. She'll love you to the moon and back and show you her snuggly, goofy side. She is worth your time, we promise. June Bug is looking for an adult-only home with a fenced yard, as kids can be loud and scary and apartments aren't going to work for her. She needs to be the only pet in her new home. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information. June Bug is staying in the KC metro, but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection #JuneBug #LabMix #DogTraining #DogLovers #RescueDog #AdoptDontShop #KCmetro #DogRescue

She's still a puppy, so she's learning a lot of things! She keeps her kennel clean, loves belly rubs, and will try to do just about anything for a treat. If you would like to meet her, please call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387. She's in the Kansas City metro, but transport might be available to the right home

Story
This is Dahlia, our friend at City of Raytown Animal Services. She is the sweetest lab mix, around 6 years old. Dahlia arrived at the shelter not feeling well. The amazing kennel care staff discovered she had blood in her urine and an enlarged abdomen. Dahlia was taken to the vet, where she was diagnosed with what's called a closed pyometra. A pyometra is when the uterus fills with heavy amounts of infected pus. A closed pyometra is one where you often do not see any symptoms until the dog is very sick. Thankfully, Dahlia's condition was caught in time. Dahlia is now spayed and wants to tell everyone to get your pets fixed! Pyometra is no joke; it's deadly and expensive! She also would like to mention she's looking for a place to crash for several years. She does not intend to hold a job, pay rent, or do any home repairs. What she can offer is being a loving dog for the rest of her life, enjoying the quiet times, slow walks together, meeting other calm dogs, playing fetch with the younger kiddos, and long naps on the rug. Dahlia's housebroken, doesn't mind cats (although she thinks they’re weird), and likes other dogs, but isn't a fan of the in-your-face puppy antics. If you would like to meet Dahlia, stop by 10312 E. 63rd St., Raytown, MO, from 8:30 to 4:00, M-F, call 816-737-7025 (including to make an appointment outside those hours), or call/text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387.
