Story
Austin is at Project POOCH. To learn more and to apply, go here - pooch.org/austin I’m still figuring out how to be my sweet social self with new people, so please be patient with me! My human friends say that I am so cute and sweet. My dog friends say “woof-woof, bark” which ruffly translates to: “He’s a blast!” Austin is a sweet young man who is learning as much as he can about the world. He can be sensitive about new situations but is realizing that he doesn’t have to be scared of novel experiences. Since coming to POOCH he has discovered that other dogs aren’t scary, they’re actually a LOT of fun! He is enjoying playgroups with POOCH and daycare dogs, and is getting a lot of social learning from them, like how to play in the pool. He would probably enjoy having a dog friend to live with, maybe they can even help boost his confidence. The youth are doing a good job working on his basic cues, like sit and down, and his life skills, like crate training and handling for the vet and grooming. He can be slower to pick things up compared to others in his cohort, so would benefit from some patience in a handler. If you’re looking for a dog who makes you feel chosen when he loves up on you, Austin might be that special one. Bonus, he can be ultra goofy!

Olive is a living adaptable female dog. We acquired her from a mutual friend of one of our daughters. Olive is 12-13 years old, we aren’t sure of her exact age wheel we got her. We believe she was around 2-3. She lives walks Ava is friendly around older large dogs not so much with small dogs. She lives to meet new people and have them pet and play with her. We are just not able to provide the activity levels she likes to enjoy.

Story
She is a sweet, loving companion who thrives in a calm, predictable environment. She has significant anxiety and is easily frightened by loud noises, car rides, unfamiliar places, busy walks, and changes in her surroundings. Because of this, she would do best with a retired or older adult who is home most of the day and enjoys a quiet lifestyle. Once she feels safe, she is incredibly loyal and loves nothing more than relaxing beside her person. She isn’t looking for adventure—just peace, patience, and someone who will love her for who she is. I will be very selective because she deserves the perfect forever home. If you think you can provide the calm, stable, predictable life she’s looking for, please message me and tell me about yourself and your daily routine.

Story
For local Houston pick up subtract 200 from adoption fee! What you see is what you get here, and what you get is a gorgeous boy with the perfect side of goofy! His name is Jet Jethro, his friends call him Jetty, and he will pull you in with those soulful eyes and mohawk hair, then immediately show you his goofy side and it is basically a 1-2 combo that never fails. Before you read too far, take a moment to watch Jet’s video and see his personality come through on screen, then come back to get to know him a bit more. 👉 https://youtu.be/Oh23nil74BQ Estimated to be around 2 years old and weighing about 65 pounds, Jet is a striking guy. We don’t have a clue what his breed is (or his birthday) given he is a rescue, but we’re putting our money on some kind of boutique doodle/ lab/ setter mix. You can decide for yourself. The fur, the strong face, the long lines, whatever he is, I am in love. The cherry on top is that very honest sparkle of joy you can see in his eyes the moment you meet him. He loves people and loves to give kisses. Jet is affectionate to his core and absolutely people-oriented. He knows no strangers and treats every new human like a long-lost friend he is beyond thrilled to see. When meeting people, he leans in hard, hands out kisses freely, and will roll onto his back at the first sign of a belly rub possibility. The invitation to love stands with Jet. If there’s a room full of people, Jet will politely rotate through them all, making sure no one feels left out. He settles nicely indoors, but if there’s movement nearby, he’s up and ready to see if he can help or if by chance, affection is being handed out. On leash, Jet is still practicing containing all that joy. In other words, his leash skills are a work in progress. He’s happy and curious, and just gets mixed up in where he wants to be going, from lovingly by your side to leader of the adventure. He responds so well to guidance and he is a fast learner, but will need consistent practice and a dog-savvy person willing to help him keep his rhythm. Once that clicks, he is a dream adventure buddy. Dog-wise, Jet did wonderfully. He meets other dogs politely on leash and hasn’t shown any pulling or frustration. Once leashes are dropped, he roams calmly with the group, coexisting easily. He hasn’t shown us a particularly playful side yet, but we can see that changing once he settles into the rhythm and makes a connection with a playful friend. Jet would do well with a medium-energy dog companion who enjoys some movement and play but won’t overwhelm him in an attempt to get him to play. Jet is a no-cat guy. His interest when he met our house cat was a bit too strong, and given his size, if he were to chase a house cat, he would cause some chaos. Jet will do best with an active person or household that enjoys movement, visitors, and connection. A busy home with people coming and going would suit him beautifully. Apartment living could be a possibility for the right adopter committed to daily exercise, continued leash training, and mental enrichment. More than anything, Jet needs someone who understands young, goofy dogs and can help him learn all about the big-wide world. Jetty is perfect for a home with adults or older teens that love puppy kisses and a loyal boy! Sweet, affectionate, and charmingly goofy, Jet is the kind of dog who will happily join you on any outing, soak up attention wherever he goes, and make you and yours laugh daily. With you by his side, this boy is going to shine even brighter than he already does. Ready to welcome a whole lot of fun into your life? Fitz is an almost 6-year-old Labradoodle. He is extremely loving, energetic, and playful. He has a sassy personality and a protective nature. He loves to run and will play fetch for hours. More play motivated than food, but both work. When I got Fitz, I was working remotely and had a lot of time to care for and socialize him. I lived in a house with a roommate who had another dog. Unfortunately, I've had a huge change in circumstances that has impacted his quality of life and has made it so that I am not around as much and cannot afford to give him the love and care he needs. Some things to know:He is mouthy and hesitant with new people when first meeting them. After that first meeting, he is loving and affectionateHe has a grain allergy, so I feed him grain-free food.

Story
Hi, I’m Lake! And just like my name suggests, I’m happiest when life is calm, peaceful, and free of unnecessary splashing, although I will absolutely make an exception for a good adventure! I’m an almost 9 year old,, 69 lb. Labrador Retriever, and I’ve got a whole lot of love left to give. I’m a very sweet boy who absolutely adores affection from my people. I can be a little nervous when meeting someone new, so I prefer to take my time and get to know you before deciding that you’re officially part of my fan club. Once I’m comfortable, I’m all about my people. I love being home, getting cozy, and enjoying the simple things in life. I also still enjoy getting out and being active, but these days I’m more of a “let’s enjoy the adventure” kind of guy rather than a “LET’S GO GO GO” kind of guy. I have limited vision, so I appreciate a little patience and a slower pace. I like having time to process my surroundings and figure things out. I may not see everything perfectly, but I’ve got a pretty good idea of what makes life wonderful: a loving person, a peaceful home, a comfy spot to relax, and maybe a snack or two. I’d prefer to spend my golden years as your one and only pet. Other dogs and cats aren’t really my cup of tea, and I’d much rather enjoy a quiet life without the hustle and bustle of a busy animal household. I’d do best with kids 15 and older who understand that an older gentleman like me sometimes needs a little space and appreciates things being taken slowly. I may be getting older, but don’t let that fool you. I still have plenty of love, plenty of personality, and plenty of cozy afternoons left to enjoy. I’m Lake, and I’m looking for someone who wants to slow down, take the scenic route, and enjoy the good stuff with me! My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Apply to meet me today!

Meet Mouse! 🩶🐾 If you're looking for a dog who will keep you laughing, moving, and feeling loved every single day, Mouse is ready to steal your heart! This beautiful 2-year-old Charcoal Labrador Retriever weighs 82 pounds and is bursting with personality. Mouse is full of joyful, goofy, larger-than-life energy and is always ready for her next adventure. Whether she's exploring a new hiking trail, running through an open field, or splashing around in the water, Mouse is happiest when she's on the move. One of Mouse's favorite ways to show affection is by covering her favorite people with big, slobbery kisses! She's incredibly loving and always excited to be around the people she cares about. She's still polishing her manners and is learning that sitting politely earns her lots of attention, but sometimes her excitement gets the best of her and she'll happily bounce up to say hello. Mouse is dog friendly and enjoys the company of other dogs. She would do well in a home with children ages 8 and older. If her potential forever home has feline siblings, we're happy to cat test her to help ensure the best possible match. While Mouse is adventurous and playful, she's also deeply devoted to Miley. The two share an incredible bond and have spent their lives together, providing each other with comfort, confidence, and companionship. Because of that special connection, Mouse and Miley are looking for a forever home where they can continue their journey side by side. If your family is ready for double the love, double the laughs, and two loyal best friends, Mouse and Miley can't wait to meet you. Their adoption fee is $495 for the pair, and they are both spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. ❤️ Apply to meet Mouse & Miley today!
