Palmer-Lab/Scruffy Terrier male, ~ 3 yr. (Nov. 2022) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for application. Palmer is a nice medium sized dog with a lot of personality. He's an active dog, who needs an experienced owner/family with an active lifestyle to keep him mentally and physically challenged. A home without small children and cats would be best. He may be too exuberant for them. Palmer gets along well with other dogs. His adoption fee is $300 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com Include your location and a phone number. The first step in our process is to submit an application for review. Once approved, we will contact you to arrange a meeting at our next Meet and Greet event. Our pets are fostered in private homes and will be brought to Frederick, MD to meet approved adopters. Story
NAME: Nella BREED: Poodle Mix BIRTHDAY: 2014 WEIGHT: 20lbs ADOPTION FEE: $150 (Nella and Darcy are bonded and must be adopted together!) &#226&#128&#139 Darcy and Nella came to us from a breeder who was closing her doors. She had surrendered her other dogs to different rescues and said she was going to keep Darcy and Nella as her personal pets. Imagine the surprise of the rescuers who helped her when they saw the girls posted on a "free to a good home" site! We were immediately contacted and we happily agreed to take the girls, and thankfully they were able to get to us before being given away to someone who may not have been able to care for them properly (or keep them together). &#226&#128&#139 In foster care, Darcy and Nella have been very sweet and easy. They get along well with dogs of all sizes and are very polite with cats. Nella has had a few accidents but in general they seem house trained, they are happy to take walks or go to new places, and they are friendly with new people after a couple minutes of warming up. Our groomer said they were both very well behaved for their spa day, and now they look as lovely on the outside as they are inside! This is a truly wonderful pair who will be a blessing to their forever family! &#226&#128&#139 *Both girls came to us a little itchy, which could be a result of a poor diet or other external factors. To help them be comfortable, we got a Cytopoint injection for Darcy and are giving Nella Apoquel. Hopefully they will not need medications long term, but it should be something an adopter is prepared for. Please note that these girls are bonded and MUST be adopted together!  February 17, 2025, 6:28 pm

Story
NAME: Poptart BREED: Poodle/Shih Tzu Mix BIRTHDAY: 2024 WEIGHT: 13lbs ADOPTION FEE: $350 &#226&#128&#139 When our friends at Dallas Pets Alive ask us to take a dog, we say YES ! When they asked us to take a little blind puppy, well... sure, things were getting a little quiet around here anyway!  &#226&#128&#139 Surprisingly, Poptart the puppy hasn't gotten the rest of the pack too worked up. He's a little pushy in his playfulness and can overstimulate when left to his own devices (we do NOT hump our friends around here!) However, for such a young fellow he really is well-behaved and well-mannered. He appears to be pad trained, but we're working on big boy house training which is going very well thanks to help from the rest of the pack. Poptart loves to be outside so that's very helpful as well. He gets an A+ for car manners and a B for leash training, but we don't really blame him for being nervous in new places- he is almost completely blind after all! In his safe places (the house and yard), you may not notice right away that Poptart can't see: he is remarkably well-adjusted and gets around without too much trouble. He just needs a little help remembering where the water dish is, and he should absolutely not have unsupervised access to a full staircase until he's 100% comfortable in his new home. &#226&#128&#139 Poptart loves to cuddle and be around his people, but he also wants to play with his dog friends. Since having a "guide" has been so helpful for him, we're looking for a forever home with at least one tolerant canine sibling, and a human to be around more often than not. Cats are not a problem for this sweetheart so no worries either way. Mostly he just needs someone with time and patience so that he can learn his new routine- no more shuffling around for this sweet baby, we are looking for commitment! March 2, 2025, 11:22 am
