This is Crockett, a stunning wolfhound(?)/schnauzer(?)/doodle(?)/labrador(?) mix, who was surrendered to us because city life was too exciting for him. Crockett is a big, strong boy, at almost 100lbs. He has a medium energy level and has been completely appropriate with every dog we've ever introduced him to. He is comical, eager to please, smart, affectionate.....and sometimes a bit stubborn! He is very chill and is not the kind of dog that is up in your face all the time.Crockett would do best in a suburban or rural area, with dog savvy adult owners that like to throw a ball and perhaps another dog. Due to his size, Crockett would not be a good fit for a home with children. Please note that Crockett will need regular grooming. Aurora and her pups were dumped to survive on their out in Puerto Rico. Luckily, volunteers with Barks of Hope dog rescued them all, brought them to a vet then placed them with a loving foster home in PR where they were well cared for. Aurora and the pups were transported to NJ and placed in a foster home in Pennington. Aurora is ready for a new adventure of being loved and cared for as a member of a loving family. She is about 1-2 years old and is a playful, sweet, and gentle girl. She is very much a puppy and needs to learn basic commands. She will make a wonderful family pet! She will not need the crazy & expensive groom of a Labradoodle and she will shed somewhat. All our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have been dewormed and are current on vaccinations. Our adoption fee includes 30 days of complimentary medical insurance for your new pet. Breed and size is frequently a guess and can not be guaranteed. Our dogs are fostered on a private residence, we do not have a free standing shelter. They live on a farm where they run and play with other dogs, cats, horses, and barnyard fowl. Initial contact with us must be made through e-mail. E-mail ARFofMercer@gmail.com directly for an adoption application or with any questions. Once your adoption application is approved, you will be invited to meet our dogs/puppies.

MEET LEO!! Leo is an approximately 4-5 year old male neutered Lab Golden and German Pointer mix. What a stunning combination! Leo is tall, dark and handsome and currently weighs around 75 lbs. Leo is a dapper and simple kind of guy. He has a calm and gentle presence. He is past the younger dog chaos and settling into a nice stride. He waits patiently in the morning to take on life. From leisurely walks through property trails, a soulful display of comfort when petting him, to laying down on his cozy cot. His soul penetrating eye gaze as you rub his under chin that says, “Thank you for letting me be a part of your life.” Leo will sit there stoically as you give him a big hug and it tells you everything you need to know about him. He has been professionally trained to increase his likelihood of being adopted. He appreciates a system of communication as he navigates the world that once misunderstood him. He just needed the right team in his corner. Prior to training he would get over excited around dogs or squirrels for example. Now he is capable of calm leash walking and experiencing the world. He has proven he really is a simple kind of dog that deserves a simple kind of life. Leo is both house and crate trained. Leo does great with female dogs around his size but his prey drive seems to strong for small dogs and cats.
