Story
Aurora and her pups were dumped to survive on their out in Puerto Rico. Luckily, volunteers with Barks of Hope dog rescued them all, brought them to a vet then placed them with a loving foster home in PR where they were well cared for. Aurora and the pups were transported to NJ and placed in a foster home in Pennington. Aurora is ready for a new adventure of being loved and cared for as a member of a loving family. She is about 1-2 years old and is a playful, sweet, and gentle girl. She is very much a puppy and needs to learn basic commands. She will make a wonderful family pet! She will not need the crazy & expensive groom of a Labradoodle and she will shed somewhat. All our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have been dewormed and are current on vaccinations. Our adoption fee includes 30 days of complimentary medical insurance for your new pet. Breed and size is frequently a guess and can not be guaranteed. Our dogs are fostered on a private residence, we do not have a free standing shelter. They live on a farm where they run and play with other dogs, cats, horses, and barnyard fowl. Initial contact with us must be made through e-mail. E-mail ARFofMercer@gmail.com directly for an adoption application or with any questions. Once your adoption application is approved, you will be invited to meet our dogs/puppies.

Story
Meet Dougie, an adorable 2-year-old lab/poodle mix who is full of personality! This little guy is not only funny and goofy but also incredibly playful, making him the perfect companion for anyone who loves adventure. Dougie thrives on fun, whether it’s chasing a ball in the yard or exploring new trails on a hike. His affectionate nature shines through in his love for cuddling. After an exciting day of play, you can often find him snuggled up next to his favorite humans, soaking up all the love and attention. Dougie is fantastic with kids and has a demeanor that makes him a great playmate. Additionally, he gets along well with other dogs, and he would flourish in a home with another canine companion. While Dougie is sociable and friendly, he would thrive in a feline-free home, as his instincts may lead him to chase them. His intelligence is evident as he is already crate trained and housebroken, showing that he can quickly learn and adapt to his environment. Dougie is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to find his forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal friend who will bring joy, laughter, and a sense of adventure into your life, Dougie might just be the perfect match for you!

Story
This is Crockett, a stunning wolfhound(?)/schnauzer(?)/doodle(?)/labrador(?) mix, who was surrendered to us because city life was too exciting for him. Crockett is a big, strong boy, at almost 100lbs. He has a medium energy level and has been completely appropriate with every dog we've ever introduced him to. He is comical, eager to please, smart, affectionate.....and sometimes a bit stubborn! He is very chill and is not the kind of dog that is up in your face all the time.Crockett would do best in a suburban or rural area, with dog savvy adult owners that like to throw a ball and perhaps another dog. Due to his size, Crockett would not be a good fit for a home with children. Please note that Crockett will need regular grooming. This dog is being cared for by: National Greyhound Adoption Program 10901 Dutton Road Philadelphia, PA 19154 PA Kennel License #3069. Our adoption areas include PA, NJ, NY, CT, DE, MD, DC and NoVA.

Story
Meet Mello – Delightfully One of a Kind Mello is the kind of dog who makes you do a double take—in the best possible way. With his short legs, slightly wiry coat, and unmistakable charm, he’s living proof that “interesting” and “absolutely adorable” go hand in hand. We’re told he’s a mini labradoodle… but honestly, Mello is just 100% Mello. At 9 years young, this guy still has plenty of pep in his step! He enjoys his walks, loves hanging out with his people, and is the kind of companion who truly values connection. Whether you’re heading out for a stroll or settling in for some couch time, Mello is all in—as long as he’s with you. Now, like any distinguished gentleman, Mello comes with a few quirks. He prefers that his prized possessions (think food or high-value treasures) are respected and not taken from him. With clear boundaries, respectful handling, and an experienced home, this is very manageable—and Mello will reward you with loyalty and love in return. Mello’s highlights:• 9 years young with just the right amount of pep• Affectionate and people-oriented• Enjoys walks and lounging alike• Delightfully unique in both looks and personality Mello is looking for a home that sees the beauty in being a little different—one that will appreciate his quirks, respect his boundaries, and love him for exactly who he is. He may not be your “typical” dog… but he just might be your perfect one Mostly Muttz Rescue, PO Box 406, Gilbertsville, PA 19525PA Kennel License 10872 ##2646105##

My name is Mochi. I am a little darling!! I am 3 months old and about 11 lbs. My mom was a lab mix. We aren't sure who my dad was but we are thinking either parent could have some Australian Shepherd or Boxer in their lineage. I likely will be a medium sized dog once I am all grown up and a stunner. I am one of EIGHT! Being just a baby as I am, I will need all of that puppy work. Some housebreaking, some crate training, some basic obedience, learning house rules, some leash work. I am ready for it! I am looking for my own special humans to cuddle with. I am great with kids, cats and dogs. At my age, I am up for just about anything. Here is a link to the application if you are interested in me! https://www.zivadogrescue.org/adoptable-dogs

Meet Cookie, a sweet, well-behaved girl with a naturally cheerful personality who is looking for her forever home! Cookie is truly the total package. She possesses excellent house manners, making her a dream with whom to live. Whether you prefer that she hang out in her crate or enjoy full freedom of the house, she is perfectly behaved. Story
Pickles is high energy, loving, intelligent 16 month old, 40 lb girl! She LOVES a tennis ball (and will ask ALL day to play with it!), knows at least two dozen commands already and is very eager to please! (Especially if food or treats are involved) She is so smart and athletic that she could easily be an agility/farmers dog and could be one of those pups who learns all of those fancy buttons to communicate. She picks up new commands and expectations FAST. She also smiles a little bit too!   Pickles can be  nervous when meeting new people, but warms up pretty quickly after a slow introductions. She benefit from a kind, patient family to help expose her to more kind and patient people that will help get her more comfortable in general. She LOVES kids of all ages but is still working on not jumping with excitement and may need more work here (and a leash or guidance when introducing her to smaller people)   Pickles has spent time in a doggy daycare setting and has done great with other playful dogs and currently lives with a cat and a 10yr old kiddo. She can be reactive and over-excited on a leash and seems to startle easy, but overall is a very submissive and friendly dog. Having a fenced in yard with another playful dog is a must-have for Pickles to live her best life and helping manage all of her energy and keeping her mentally stimulated every day. She will literally hug you for it!!   Pickles is truly the sweetest gem of a dog! Story
~Shadow is an active, yet cuddly pup. She's about 6 years old and is 44 lbs of love! Shadow is well behaved in the house, house broken and a joy to have around.  She likes to hang out with whoever is in the house.  She will usually lay down near by, either curled in a ball or stretched out comfortably.  She loves to be pet. Shadow loves her fetch games in the backyard. Shadow does not love the crate, but will sleep on a doggie bed next to my bed quietly. Currently she knows sit and paw.  If called in the house, she will come right away. Shadow is working on other commands and her leash training.  She will need a forever family who are committed to her training for walks. Shadow isn't great with other animals and does have a high prey drive, so she needs to be an only pet. She would love a fenced yard to play in. Shadow has been around children, but older pre-teens and teenagers would be best.  Shadow is also available through our foster to adopt program. Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com to find out if Shadow is the right one for you! (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.)
