Story
We got Ruston from a breeder 10 years ago. He was around another dog until early 2025 but she passed. He loves people and other dogs. He’s always been fine with our 3 kids and lets them know gently when he’s annoyed. One of our sons has really bad allergies and we’ve tried every option to try and make having a dog work but his dog allergies have gotten worse. We are making the hard choice to look for a loving family that doesn’t have any dog allergies for Ruston to have a good later part of life with. He loves walks and also just being lazy on his cozy dog bed. He spends days alone fine and doesn’t need a crate.

Story
Personality -He’s a low/medium energy doodle who is content with a daily walk (long or short, he’s ready) and then happily enjoying all the naps and cuddles. -He’s a huge fan of kids and the attention they give him. He will gladly soak up all of it. -He’s enjoyable to walk as his leash skills are fabulous. -He’s social and enjoys meeting and greeting new people. -He will make sure you feel celebrated when you return home each time. Just consider him your personal welcome committee. Ideal Home -Shadow’s ideal home will have a calm, submissive canine pal. He loves to run around the back yard with a buddy. -Shadow takes daily medication which controls his seizures. -He does fine when left out loose (as long as countertops are clear of food) when you have to leave for a bit. -He would do best in a home where he has consistent company. He’s all about his people! His family will need to continue working to build his confidence in being home alone. Are You a Match for Shadow Slate? Shadow Slate’s adoption fee is $650. He is HW-negative and current on all vaccinations and HW/flea preventatives, neutered, and microchipped. All adoption fees go toward expenses like medical costs and food for Doodle Dandy dogs and help make it possible for us to continue giving amazing pups like Shadow Slate a second chance. Story
Due to a recent divorce and a move to housing that cannot accommodate them, I am no longer able to provide the home they deserve. I am committed to helping financially by providing their supplies and records, transporting them wherever needed, and doing whatever I can to ensure they remain together.Finding the right home for Maggie and Motley is my highest priority. I am willing to personally transport them to their new home anywhere within a reasonable distance to ensure a smooth and comfortable transition. My goal is not simply to rehome them—it is to find a family who will love and care for them as they deserve. After ten years of loyalty, companionship, and unconditional love, they deserve nothing less.I understand that adopting two senior dogs is a significant commitment, and I am happy to answer questions, provide veterinary records, discuss their routines and preferences, and help make the transition as easy as possible for both the dogs and their new family.

Story
We got Zoe as a puppy from a breeder and fell in love with her. She is so smart and she knows sit, lye down, paw, go home (kennel) and outside. She’s aggressive towards other animals. My pit bull we had before her bullied her as a pup but as she grew bigger than him she got aggressive with him and we also added a cat to the mix which she would like to play with but not in a good way. Every sense I brought her back in my cat is peeing and acting out. I love Zoe and would love to keep her but my daughters cat and my other daughters dog have to stay or I’m the bad mom. Also my kids aren’t helping me with Zoe and she needs a lot of attention like walks and playing. I no longer can give her these things because I’m constantly at work. Her lab part definitely stands out because she hunts baby possums in my backyard. She has not eat them but will kill them and present to you as presents. She’s not a bad dog just needs more love than I can give. She’s great with kids, just likes to jump.

Story
Meet Arrow: A Story of Courage, Trust, and Second Chances One year ago, Arrow’s future was uncertain. At just three months old, he and his brother, Arlo, found themselves in one of our local shelters facing euthanasia before they had even had the chance to experience what it meant to be loved. Thankfully, Sunshine Acres Animal Sanctuary, Inc. was able to step in. When Arrow first arrived, he was terrified. He didn’t understand that people could be kind. He kept his distance, avoided touch, and watched the world with fearful eyes. Trust wasn’t something that came naturally—it had to be earned. And earn it, we did. With patience, consistency, and lots of love (and plenty of treats!), Arrow slowly began to realize that people weren’t something to fear. Day by day, he grew more confident. The puppy who once wouldn’t let anyone near him now seeks out affection, leans in for pets, and happily welcomes the people he knows and loves. His transformation has been nothing short of incredible. Arrow and Arlo have become two of the most well-behaved puppies we’ve ever welcomed through our doors. They were housebroken within their first week at the sanctuary and quickly mastered crate training. Their eagerness to learn—and their love of snacks—made training both fun and rewarding. Arrow is incredibly intelligent, just what you’d expect from a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever mix, and he’s always excited to learn something new. Today, Arrow is a sweet, affectionate young dog with a heart that’s finally learned what safety feels like. He loves being close to his people and has blossomed into a loyal companion who simply wants to be loved in return. Before going to his forever home, Arrow will receive his upcoming veterinary care at the end of August and will be fully vetted and ready to begin his next chapter. Arrow has already overcome more in his first year of life than most dogs ever should. We’d love it if he can be adopted with his brother Arlo but it would be okay for them to be adopted separately as well. They’ve get along great, but they aren’t completely bonded. Now all Arlo needs is someone willing to give him what every dog deserves—a family to call his own. If you’re looking for a smart, loving, loyal companion who understands the true meaning of a second chance, Arrow may just be the missing piece of your family. Could you be the happy ending Arrow has been waiting for? To learn more about Arrow or to schedule a meet-and-greet, contact Sunshine Acres Animal Sanctuary, Inc. at 469-952-1192 via text. Every rescue deserves a forever home, and Arrow is more than ready for his.

Story
Meet Arlo – The Quiet Soul Who Learned to Trust ❤️ Some dogs make you fall in love the moment you meet them. Arlo is one of those dogs. Arlo is a one-year-old Border Collie/Labrador Retriever mix who, along with his brother Arrow, was rescued from a local shelter just days before they were scheduled to be euthanized. They were only three months old, scared, unsure of the world, and had never experienced the love every puppy deserves. When Arlo first arrived at Sunshine Acres Animal Sanctuary, Inc. he wanted nothing to do with people. He was terrified, kept his distance, and wouldn’t even allow anyone to touch him. His fear was heartbreaking, but we knew beneath it was a dog who simply needed patience, kindness, and someone willing to believe in him. Little by little, everything changed. Today, Arlo is one of the sweetest, most gentle dogs you’ll ever meet. He has learned that people can be trusted, that gentle hands bring comfort, and that love is something he never has to earn. Watching him transform has been one of the most rewarding journeys we’ve witnessed. He maintains the goofiest expression on his face especially since he has the funniest double chin! Like his brother, Arlo amazed us with how quickly he learned. Within a week he was house-trained and crate-trained. He’s incredibly intelligent, eager to learn, and very food motivated, making continued training a joy. He has wonderful manners and has grown into a calm, well-behaved companion who simply wants to be close to his people. Arlo has an upcoming veterinary appointment at the end of August and will be fully vetted before going to his forever home. Arlo doesn’t need a perfect family—he just needs one that will continue showing him the love and security he has finally discovered. In return, you’ll gain a loyal best friend whose quiet gratitude is felt every single day. His difficult beginning does not define him. It simply makes his story of resilience, hope, and unconditional love even more beautiful. Could your home be the happy ending Arlo has been waiting for? Text us at 469-952-1192 for more information.
