We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and appreciate you working with us.For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $850. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Seven years old this December. Purchased from breeder. Spayed, never bred. Vet visits and vaccines all up to date. Crate trained for car rides or overnight. High energy running or chasing tennis balls. Very upbeat personality. Barks at delivery people or new people. Food motivated (treats). No mess in house since puppyhood. Never fed any human food. Never bites. Sleeps during mid-day on dog bed. Flat coat F1 generation looks more like lab father than poodle mother. Would do best with active adult owner.

Story
Vader is a very sweet and affectionate dog who loves being around people. He enjoys cuddling, going on long walks, and being part of whatever his family is doing. He has a friendly personality and thrives on companionship and attention. After moving into an apartment in Portland last year, we discovered that Vader struggles with being left alone for extended periods and will bark when separated from his people. Unfortunately, our current living situation and busy schedules have made it difficult for us to dedicate the time and consistency needed to work through his separation anxiety. Vader is currently being treated for an ear infection and is a little behind on a couple of vaccinations. He is also eating a prescription kibble recommended by his vet due to a suspected skin allergy. Despite these manageable health needs, Vader is a loving dog who would do best in a home where someone is around more often and can provide him with the attention, companionship, and support he enjoys.

Story
Austin is at Project POOCH. To learn more and to apply, go here - pooch.org/austin I’m still figuring out how to be my sweet social self with new people, so please be patient with me! My human friends say that I am so cute and sweet. My dog friends say “woof-woof, bark” which ruffly translates to: “He’s a blast!” Austin is a sweet young man who is learning as much as he can about the world. He can be sensitive about new situations but is realizing that he doesn’t have to be scared of novel experiences. Since coming to POOCH he has discovered that other dogs aren’t scary, they’re actually a LOT of fun! He is enjoying playgroups with POOCH and daycare dogs, and is getting a lot of social learning from them, like how to play in the pool. He would probably enjoy having a dog friend to live with, maybe they can even help boost his confidence. The youth are doing a good job working on his basic cues, like sit and down, and his life skills, like crate training and handling for the vet and grooming. He can be slower to pick things up compared to others in his cohort, so would benefit from some patience in a handler. If you’re looking for a dog who makes you feel chosen when he loves up on you, Austin might be that special one. Bonus, he can be ultra goofy!

Story
I got her friend a friend at 8 weeks old. Nyx will be 2 July 13th, she is fully vaccinated and super cuddly. She is a 65 lb Irish wolf hound and black lab mix. She loves camping, swimming in lakes… or anywhere there’s water, and running. If an intruder were to come in in the middle of the night she would bark to alert you and then probably bring them a toy and try to play tug of war.

These pups are in Camas, Washington too!

Story
I adopted Birdie in the fall of 2024, and she has truly been the sweetest companion. At home, she is an absolute dream—gentle, incredibly loving, and very calm. Her favorite routine is just relaxing and keeping me company. She thrives in a predictable, quiet environment where she can feel safe and secure. Due to an upcoming move into a smaller space in town, I am looking to rehome Birdie with someone who can offer her the quiet lifestyle she deserves. She does best when she has a peaceful, low-traffic environment to call home. She experiences significant anxiety when visiting new places, so a home where she doesn't have to navigate busy urban environments or frequent public outings is essential. She needs to be the only pet in the household. Her anxiety means she can become defensive or aggressive if an introduction to another dog is forced or handled incorrectly. She will be happiest and most relaxed as your one-and-only four-legged companion.

Story
Looking for a new forever home for our silly boy.Maverick is a 2 year old (almost 3) corso/lab mix. He is a happy healthy boy with a big personality.Maverick is house trained and quick to pick up new training. He knows several commands and some fun tricks too, like balancing a treat on his head and recycling water bottles.Mav has been a wonderful addition to our family. Sadly, with our increased work hours and our kids commitment to sports and activities, we have not been able to give him the time he needs to just be a dog. We are also relocating in the end of June. Finding the RIGHT forever home is our top priority.Important notes about Mav:Maverick is "property trained" not leash trained. At around 120lbs., leash training will require a strong individual.Maverick has cryptorchidism (or having retained testicles). He has not been fixed, making families with other dogs an unlikely fit. He does well with our adult male cat and children. Please reach out with any questions. Thank you.
