Story
Buddy is a very, very sweet dog. He loves to cuddle, loves to play with tennis balls, and he loves tug of war. He's fully house broken, and knows the command 'sit.' I adore this pup, but need to re-home him because he does not get along with one of my other dogs. He needs a single-dog household, and a home with a tall fence or an owner willing to leash-walk him for potty breaks.

Story
Meet Bonnie Bonnie is a gorgeous young dog. She and her Mom (Lady) were surrendered at the same time. Their owner fell on hard times and the dogs needed to be rehomed. Bonnie looks to have labrador retriever in her, mixed with a bit of collie. She has a glossy and silky black coat, with a white chest. She has warm brown eyes and a wagging tail. Bonnie is a year old. She lived in a home until she was put outside after her owner was taken away. Bonnie is friendly, affectionate, energetic, curious, sweet, and outgoing. Bonnie loves meeting people, she’d probably do well with kids. She is a happy girl with an out-going personality, although she can initially be a bit shy. Life the past several months has not been kind to her. She loves other dogs and is cat friendly. How perfect can you get? Bonnie walks well on a leash. Having an above fenced in yard would be great for her so she can run and play safely. She’d make for a great hiking dog or running companion. She likes doing things and going places. Bonnie will make for a wonderful family companion. If looking to welcome Bonnie to your heart and home, fill out an application at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) or call our shelter at 706-865-4135 and leave a message to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Meet Clyde Handsome Clyde (was Raindrop) is a labrador mix. We pulled Clyde off the euthanasia list from a high kill shelter. We gave him a new name to go with his new lease on life. Clyde is a black labrador mix, possibly mixed with boxer. He is less than two old, but it seems as if his first years on earth have been terribly difficult. Clyde was just a forgotten puppy, neglected, maybe abused, and tossed out early on with no one to love him. Sadly, Clyde found himself on his last call on the kill list. His defeated expression really got to us and we had to give him a chance. He deserved better than life offered so far. He deserved a chance to live. Since arriving, we’ve seen his personality come out more every day. Clyde is an energetic and athletic young pup. He is very smart and curious. He will do well in an active home, with a fenced yard, and a family that likes to do things with Clyde in tow. Like all labradors he is a bouncy, energetic boy. He is a strong walker when he’s interested in something and his puppy energy pulls him on. A gentle leader might help as well as some gentle training. Clyde is very smart and will learn quickly. Clyde may be best in a home without younger kids, older kids may be fine, but we have seen Clyde be a little protective of his space and toys. Completely understandable when you go from having nothing, to having a safe place to sleep and some toys to call your own for the first time. Building Clyde’s confidence through training, consistency, love and protective safety will go far to helping Clyde settle in. He longs for a deep bond with a special someone or family. He loves being outside in the fresh air where he doesn’t feel confined and the noises of the shelter lesson. He enjoys watching the world go by. He shows no reaction to other dogs. Clyde has so much potential. He’s young and impressionable. For a person or family willing to invest time in Clyde, he has the potential to be the dog of a lifetime. He is longing to show someone just how great he is, but we can also see he is a little scared to do so. Life has not been kind to him. If you are that special someone/family looking to give a wonderful young dog a second chance, Clyde deserves all the TLC you can offer. If interested in welcoming Clyde to your heart and home, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. On our home page, please select "How to Adopt" to pull up our online application.
