Good with dogs,
Story
We found this good boy on a highway in rural TN. We have checked all over for his owners-called vets, shelters, talked to neighbors, posted online, checked for a microchip-with no luck. We have had him for almost a week, and although he is very sweet, we already have a dog and cannot keep him forever. He is very well mannered and friendly, although seems unfamiliar with home living. He occasionally tries to pee inside, and doesn't like to be crated. He seems unfamiliar with toys and treats, we assume he was an outdoor dog who didn't get much attention. He spends most of his time sleeping and following us around the house. He walks on a leash pretty well and enjoys going for jogs! He is very mellow and gets along great with our dog. We wanted to reach out before taking him to a shelter, as the only local one his a high-volume kill shelter.

Story
Willow is a 3 year old chocolate lab/pointer mix. She is very smart. She is house trained, but needs a big yard with a fence to run around in. She would be a great dog for hunting. She loves people, and respond well to a routine.

Story
Elvis is a sweet, low-energy, loyal and affectionate dog who loves his people and his peace. His favorite activities are quiet naps, hairbrush massages and giving kisses. He can be nervous at first, but once he's gotten to know you better you'll be his number one. He'd love for you to come down to his level for some play time and sweet snuggles. Despite his name, Elvis is not the rock n roll type. He doesn't enjoy darkness, loud noise, fast bikes or unexpected hullabaloo. Elvis is house trained, but would prefer not to be crated. He is a good boy on a leash, but prefers to walk in a nice quiet park instead of around traffic.

Story
Destin is a 2.5-year-old big boi who enjoys snuggles, going for walks, and PLAYTIME! This over-sized puppy is nearly 90 lbs of muscle and love. He's described by some of his favorite volunteers as a huge dog whose simply excited about life. He loves to run zoomies in the play yards, and will never turn down a game of fetch. He's a great leash walker, as he's been training with our behavior team, especially when using a transitional lead (we can show you how to use it, too!). Staff and volunteers who work with Destin say he is such a good boy, and when he's not begging to go on walks, he really just wants to cuddle. He's young and energetic, and would be perfect for an active person who enjoys hiking or running, and can give Destin lots of mental and physical stimulation. Destin is reactive toward other dogs, and would be best in a single-dog home. He needs an adopter who is experienced with large breed dogs, and can handle his size and strength. It's hard not to love him though, when he shows you his soft side - his squishy face and big ol' paws are simply irresistible!

Story
BONDED TO LESLIE Leslie and Ann are two ladies are a bonded pair of BFFs looking for a forever home together. They go everywhere together, do everything together, and are absolutely two peas in a pod. The girls were found as strays back in November, and have spent the last 3 months waiting for the right family to come along and see what wonderful dogs they are. Both of them can be shy around strangers, but they do warm up, especially with treats! They are both very smart, and have been star students during our Clever Canine volunteer dog training class nights! Ann LOVES to play fetch and will chase and retrieve a tennis ball for hours, while Leslie trails behind her, just happy to be included After playtime, they will cuddle up together in bed and take a nice siesta. Leslie and Ann would be stellar companions for someone looking for active and intelligent dogs that enjoy the outdoors AND chilling inside for some movie-watching, couch cuddling fun. We understand that adopting two new dogs at once can seem daunting, but these girls will make it easy! They keep each other company and are their own source of entertainment when you're away or busy, and are sweet and loads of fun when they trust you and feel safe. Let's find these besties their forever family!
