Story
Luna was in the shelter for 130 days when I rescued her. I dont know about her previous owners, but Luna definitely had PTSD when I got her. She was friendly but skittish, sad and jumpy. Since adopting Luna, her behavior has changed in leaps and bounds. Shes much more calm and doesnt jump at every noise. Shes loving and is very cuddly. The only thing she ever wants to do is be my shadow. I have built trust through quality time and routine. She LOVES walks, knows roll over and craves belly rubs. A yard where she can run is best. I live in an apartment with a dog park and we spend as much time there as we can. But my job is changing and my schedule is keeping me from being able to keep up with her structured routine. If her routine lapses, she destroys things. She is very strong and can pull down blinds. Once she meets a dog, she likes to play, but off leash only. If she meets a dog while on leash, she can be aggressive. Save time and let her be social at the dog park. NO CATS

Story
Please contact Adoptions (adoptions@thalppc.com) for more information about this pet. Dune is a 3 year old lab mix that weighs 60 pounds and is fully housebroken. He was surrendered to the shelter as his owner was moving into an apartment that would only allow small dogs. He was acquired as a young puppy and resided alongside of several small dogs. Dune loves food puzzles, will fetch for hours if allowed, loves toys, and has a very joyful spirit. He is 100% housebroken and has never had an accident in his kennel. is inquisitive, quirky, and darling. Here is what our one of our dog walkers has to say about Dune:Dune is a youngish (but very mature) pupper. Dogs, no matter their upbringing/lineage or from Craigslist, a backyard breeder or a shelter, will seem to be fairly confident critters, or not as confident. Dune is of the latter, so he’s my take to the solitude of the woods versus the tourist hot spots kind of dog. The wonderful thing about Dune is, he looks to you for guidance. He doesn’t want to be off leash. He doesn’t want freedom and to make his own choices…..he wants you to guide him and in return, he gives back 120% all to you.Dune is so fun to hike with because he will wait for you to navigate that rocky section of trail. He’ll stand with you and enjoy the rush of a swollen creek and he’ll look to you when something uncertain comes his way. We hit the North Chick a lot, and encounter many a dudes carrying kayaks heading to the put in. We simply scoot off the trail and watch folks go by. He doesn’t want to meet other dogs, nor does he really want to meet other people when he’s out with his person…..which is ok. Not all dogs do, and we shouldn’t force them to greet everyone. As hard as it is for me to say this, I’ve learned that I also don’t need to greet every dog I meet when I’m out and about. Most dogs would rather you not!!In conclusion, Dune is a fantastic pal who’s just a tad introverted. He’s not your dog park, bar/outside dining, walnut st bridge pup so if you are seeking an incredible and special bond with a pet, consider Dune.He loves small dogs but will require a meet and greet with dogs his size as he had no prior exposure to dogs larger than yorkies and chihuahuas. He would not be ideal for a home with cats as he will chase them. The adoption fee is $135 which includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, dewormer, flea preventative, microchip, & spay or neuter. We're open Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 5 p.m but doing adoptions and meet & greets by appointment only.  If you are seriously interested in adopting please fill our our online application here: https://bit.ly/3HN4Tqq Check out our website at https://www.petplacementcenter.com/    February 10, 2025, 8:52 am

Story
Meet Stevie Boo! Stevie Boo was found as a stray on a busy road and believed to have been dumped, which unfortunately happens a lot. A stray hold was completed by her founder/foster and she was not claimed. She was nervous at the very beginning, but has come out of her shell and is a very happy girl now. She is great with MOST other pets (takes her time to get used to dogs her size and up) and MOST people. She doesn’t realize her size so, she could knock over small kids accidentally. She loves running and playing with her doggy friends so a secure fence and a dog friend is highly preferred. She had a couple of accidents the first couple of days, but that’s been it. Just expect a few accidents in the beginning. She is crate trained as well. Stevie Boo is 1-2 years old and weighs 80 pounds. She is spayed, current on all shots, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and on preventatives. The adoption fee is $125 Which covers spay/neuter, shots, microchip, heartworm test, grooming (if needed), deworming, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and supplies while in our care. The pet MUST be kept on heartworm prevention all of their life. To apply to adopt go to our website www.fureverfurkids.com *We do home checks (either in person or virtual) for each pet before approving an adoption.* The application is to be completed prior to meeting the pet(s) you are interested in adopting. If they are still on the page, they are still more than likely still available. Once a pet is adopted from our rescue, they MUST be returned to us, if you cannot keep them. If you plan on not keeping them their whole lives, please do not apply. Thank you for looking at our rescues in need of amazing homes!
