Story
We rescued Tupac at approximately 5 months old from a rescue near Chattanooga. He is about 1 1/2 years old and his Birthday is November 24, 2022. He is a quick learner, crate trained, house trained and knows some commands. He loves to play catch, run around outside and just wants to be around people. He only barks at people when he doesn't know them, otherwise, he is happy to meet new people. He is a bit timid with loud noises and new sounds. He needs someone to work on that with him. We try when we can. He is food motivated, so training should go fairly well. He likes to snuggle and loves chewing on dog bones. He's never been destructive. He's not a fan of car rides, but I think he would be better once the noise socialization is done. He is a happy, fun, loving dog and is pretty playful, too. He needs a home with someone who can train him, love on him and play with him and he will be their best friend forever.

Story
Please contact Adoptions (adoptions@thalppc.com) for more information about this pet. Natalie is an 8 month old lab hound cross arriving to us as an owner surrender due to housing issues and sadly, Natalie was the one who was forced to part ways with her home and family. Sweet Natalie arrived to us a little too thin and a bit too submissive for such a young pup. We were happy to welcome her as she had never received any vet care or vaccines in her previous home.  It took Natalie a couple of days to acclimate to her new surroundings but this little lady has the time of her life all day, every day! She loves shelter life! Natalie has made friends with a couple of our other dogs and they play from the moment we let them out in the morning until it’s time to settle in for the evening. She is a social butterfly and ADORES the company of other canines! Natalie is also a lover of all humans, children included, and is curious of cats but in a non aggressive, non confrontational way. She is a bundle of energy and an abundance of nonstop joy. This girl has made the sweetest lemonade out of lemons and can handle any curveballs!  Her favorite things are squeaky toys, Nyla bones, and any and all treats. She has also gone on hikes with volunteers and everything was brand new to her - all of the sights, all of the sounds, she did wonderfully and loves car rides too.  Natalie is the happiest dog on the planet and we love her infectious and spirited demeanor. She would thrive with an active person or family that will show her a life full of adventures and activities. She possesses a lot of puppy behaviors that we are working through such as jumping to greet people and energy diversion when introducing herself to people and dogs but she is making up for a lot of lost time she spent cooped in an apartment where she did not receive much attention and exercise.  Natalie will stay on the petite side weighing 35-40 lbs and she would love a home with another dog she could learn the ropes from and become best friends with. She has brought us daily smiles and laughs but she is missing out on the good life with her own people who will embrace her and treat her as the companion she so desperately wants to be.  Natalie is vaccinated, has filled out beautifully, and will be spayed and home ready soon. She is heartworm negative and up to date on preventatives. Who is ready to make this sensational, freckle faced cutie their new bestie?   The adoption fee is $125which includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, test for heartworms & heartworm preventative medication, dewormer, flea preventative, microchip, & spay or neuter. We're open Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 5 p.m but doing adoptions and meet & greets by appointment only.  If you are seriously interested in adopting please fill our our online application here: https://bit.ly/3HN4Tqq Check out our website at https://www.petplacementcenter.com/    December 20, 2022, 12:13 am

Story
Elvis is a sweet, low-energy, loyal and affectionate dog who loves his people and his peace. His favorite activities are quiet naps, hairbrush massages and giving kisses. He can be nervous at first, but once he's gotten to know you better you'll be his number one. He'd love for you to come down to his level for some play time and sweet snuggles. Despite his name, Elvis is not the rock n roll type. He doesn't enjoy darkness, loud noise, fast bikes or unexpected hullabaloo. Elvis is house trained, but would prefer not to be crated. He is a good boy on a leash, but prefers to walk in a nice quiet park instead of around traffic.

Story
Destin is a 3 year-old big boi who enjoys snuggles, going for walks, and PLAYTIME! This over-sized puppy is nearly 90 lbs of muscle and love. He's described by some of his favorite volunteers as a huge dog who is simply excited about life. He loves to run zoomies in the play yards, and will never turn down a game of fetch. He's a great leash walker, as he's been training with our behavior team, especially when using a transitional lead (we can show you how to use it, too!). Staff and volunteers who work with Destin say he is such a good boy, and when he's not begging to go on walks, he really just wants to cuddle. He's young and energetic, and would be perfect for an active person who enjoys hiking or running, and can give Destin lots of mental and physical stimulation. Destin is reactive toward other dogs, and would be best in a single-dog home. He needs an adopter who is experienced with large breed dogs, and can handle his size and strength. It's hard not to love him though, when he shows you his soft side - his squishy face and big ol' paws are simply irresistible! Destin and leash walking. Neighborhood walks Destin can be gentle or full of energy. An extremely stout walker that requires restraint based on seeing squirrels, etc. All in all, Destin is starting to learn about neighborhood life as a dog. This loving dog has so much potential. He loves to cuddle and receive belly rubs after going on walks. He appears to be a gentle dog with young kids in our neighborhood. He has occasional energy burst playing with his toys then tends to settle down. Destin is reactive to thunderstorms and tends to seek cover under a table. Overall, he is a friendly dog that likes attention and enjoys being near when watching tv and or reading.

Story
Francis (aka Frank) is a tri-pawed boy who is happy to lounge around with his humans. Both kennel and house-trained, this loving boy will transition nicely into most any household. Since his amputation, he has been healing nicely and working on front leg strength. He will need a family that realizes his disability but will work with him to overcome. Frank has come to us with many manners and knows how to sit, stay and walk nicely on a leash; he is treat motivated and will likely be easy to continue training. With soulful brown eyes, he's loves coming to get pets and laying peacefully by your side.

Story
Sunny is the sweetest pup that is looking for her forever home! She may come across as timid or shy at first, but once she warms up, she is completely devoted! She is curious and likes to use her nose to discover new things. She likes stuffed toys and is an expert at finding lost socks (to add to her toy pile). She dislikes loud, sudden noises and is very suspicious of the vacuum cleaner. Sunny's independent nature means that she is a pretty low maintenance pup. She is perfectly content to just be in the same room with you while she plays or naps. She is good with kids and cats and she is housebroken! If Sunny sounds like the perfect fit for your family, fill out an adoption application and schedule an appointment to meet her!

Story
Costello is a big fellow who simply loves life - he always seems to be smiling! He is an all around good boy who plays gently (and very joyfully) with toys. He does get excited and jump on people sometimes, but he does this gently as well. We don't think he realizes his size. He is affectionate and will put his paws in your lap to steal kisses from time to time. He also seems friendly with the other dogs here at the shelter.
