HI - I'M SHIRLEY, and I'm a very special girl. I was clearly loved by someone once because I'm pretty chubby - I weigh about 93 pounds! I was impounded at a scary California shelter and while there, I rested patiently, just waiting for someone to notice me. I'm a 7-year-old Lab-Pit mix, so I figured it may take awhile, and sure enough I ended up being the shelter's longest resident. They kept me around for months because I am such a great, easygoing girl. I'm very quiet, mellow and I love human attention and affection. I'd make a great movie-watching buddy or snuggler. I truly need a foster or forever home as right now I don't have one. If you can open your home and heart to be, I would be so grateful. I'm currently in Southern California, but can be transported to Idaho. Please email for an application.

HI - I'M MACY! I'm a sweet and happy 6-year-old chocolate-and-white Labrador-Pit, mix, possibly with some Aussie thrown in. I have been waiting for two years for a home and am wondering why nobody wants me? I was rescued from a high-kill shelter where I had kennel mates! Now that I'm out, I like some dogs better than others, but would do best either as an only dog or possibly with a friendly male. I'm still very active, and so would love to be with a person or people who go for walks, hikes or other outings. I love the water and car rides and am a happy girl. I weigh about 50 lbs. MEET HOLT! Holt is a 2-1/2-year-old Black Lab mix in need of a foster or forever home. He is a good, happy boy who is full of life, and still a puppy at heart. He is dog friendly, people friendly and affectionate! He is loyal, gentle and smart! While he loves companionship, he also can be independent and can chill while you're working. Holt would do great with an active person or people as he's quite athletic and will benefit from regular exercise, like walks, hikes or runs. He pulls a bit on a leash but is easily corrected. He would do well with another dog in the home or as an only dog. He is a sweet boy, and weighs about 60-65 lbs. Holt is currently in California, but can be transported to Idaho. I was rescued from a crowded California in the nick of time, where I was kenneled with other dogs. I'm great with dogs and a lovebug with people. I'm still a bit of a puppy and am learning the basic ropes, but I'm a smart girl and a fast learner! I would love a wonderful home where I can be loved and taken for walks, hikes and other outings. Our senior (and much smaller) dog is going blind, and our big, goofy Duke has a hard time understanding that he can’t play so boisterously with our old guy anymore. We purchased Duke as a puppy and he is now almost 2 years old. He loves nature and taking long, slow walks on a leash. If he could, he would stop to smell every blade of grass! He is also a perfect car buddy and loves to just look at the world going by him out the window of the back seat! He knows the commands of come, sit and wait. He is super friendly and genuinely a very happy fellow. He also loves a good hug or cuddle and often will just rest his head on your lap. He doesn’t counter surf and is doing well not jumping up on people. We would love to see him go to a good home with space to play outdoors. I think he would do well as a solo buddy, but if there are other dogs in the home, they would probably need to be bigger, as he loves to play but doesn’t know his size!
