Story
We adopted Charlie Bear from the pound. We don't know what his history is, but we do know that he is a great dog. Because of his size (125 lbs), he seems intimidating. But he's a big softie. He loves to play, is very food motivated, and great with dogs, cats, and kids. Ideally he would need a big yard, where he can explore and play. He needs leash training, due to his size, we were unsuccessful in that area. But with patience and more knowledge, he would do great. He's very loving, and has a huge personality. He loves stuffed animals, but will destroy them quickly lol. Keep-away is his favorite game. We are moving to an apartment 2500 miles away, and he would not do well being so contained, without a yard to play in. He deserves a loving home with someone who would be able to devote time and energy to match his.

Story
This sweet girl is all love and light. Clementine or Emmie is just over a year old. She is friendly, loves people as well as other dogs and cats. Emmie is very bright and learns easily. We believe that she mostly lived outside and landed at the Humane Society. She has quickly learned several cues and commands. She is house trained but did have a few accidents when we first brought her home. Emmie was adopted from the Humane Society by a 70 year-old relative who realized that she could not provide what this active dog needs living in an apartment. We have been fostering her but have another dog and cat and also travel. We just can’t keep her. She has been spayed and has all of her vaccinations and health check. We are asking for a $200 rehoming fee. Ideally, she would either have another dog to play with or kids with a yard. She would also do well with someone who can run her in the hills or just keep her active.

Story
Precious Mercy is a friendly adult around 3-4 years old. We found Mercy chained and emaciated whenever we were visiting our rescue partners in Texas. One said "you have to see these dogs at this house". The scene haunted us, and we took action, eventually the dogs were removed from the property. Mercy lived a life where she was forced to have multiple litters and lived in a dirty dog house. When she went to foster care, she was so grateful. We got her healthy, treated her heartworm, fed her a lot of snacks, and have given her a lot of love. She does great with all dogs, big and small. She has been around kids that are dog savvy, and doesn't seem to care about the cats that she has met. Mercy's rescue is based in Boise, but she is available for direct adoption throughout the PNW with transport included at no extra charge. Spay, microchip, and current vaccines are included in her adoption fee. Please start with the adoption application: freedomboundhounds.com/adopt

Story
Meet miss Suri! A happy and playful 8 month old lab mix. She has recently come into our program through Texas, where she was pulled from a high kill shelter. This little love is about 22lbs at this point so we believe she will be a medium sized pup. She has shown to do well with other dogs and is a big lover. We think she would thrive in a family home as well! Her rescue is based in Boise, but she is available for direct adoption throughout the PNW with transport included at no extra charge. Spay, microchip, and current vaccines all included in her adoption fee. If she sounds like a good fit for you, please start with our application at freedomboundhounds.com/adopt

Story
Meet Mr Tod! This sweet 6 month old lab mix puppy that is ready to find his forever home. Tod and his brother Copper came into our care from the streets of Texas. Even though they had a rough start, both boys are very loving and thriving in foster care! He loves playing and then settling down for a nice nap. Tod is a typical lab pup who is happy go lucky and wants to love on his new family. He would do best in a somewhat active home with another dog or with an adopter who would take him for daily walks, ball throwing, or dog park visits! Tod is ready to find his forever home today! Neuter, current vaccines, and microchip included in his adoption fee. He is based in Boise, ID. Please start with the adoption application: freedomboundhounds.com/adopt

Story
Hello everyone!!!  I'm Tammie.  I am a really well behaved lady.  I don't get in trouble.  My foster mom says I'm adorable.   I am good in the crate and love walking on a leash.  I also LOVE cats...specially kittens.  I have been known to groom them.  lol  I haven't had much luck with other dogs in my past.  Some were not friendly towards me and made me a bit scared.  They used to eat all my food and bully me.  I would prefer to be the only dog.   Let me think.....things I don't like...getting my nails trimmed.  The previous owners used to hurt me and make my nails bleed.   I love treats and enjoy laying on the grass when it's sunny outside.  I am ok in the car also.   I have been waiting a long time.  I'm not puppy cute, but there is not much you have to teach me.  I will adapt very well to any living environment.  I am so ready to find my furever family.  Are you the ones???? We have fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. Due to Covid 19 restrictions all Meet & Greets have been cancelled to keep everyone safe. Our adoptable pets are in Houston living with local foster families making the transition into your household a whole lot easier. We have scheduled transports every two weeks from Houston to the Pacific Northwest.      ##1618131##

Story
Buster is a bundle of joy and energy, wrapped in a furry, 14 & 1/2 month-old package. His infectious enthusiasm for life is sure to bring a smile to your face every day. He's a high-energy pup who loves to play and explore, making him the perfect companion for an active family. One of Buster's most endearing qualities is his love for other dogs. He's a social butterfly and enjoys playing with dogs of all sizes. He's been especially good with small dogs, but we're not sure how he is with cats, so a cat-free environment may be best for now. Buster is making great progress with potty training. As long as you stick to a consistent schedule, he's likely to continue improving. Patience and positive reinforcement will go a long way in helping him master this skill. Behind his high-energy exterior, Buster is a true sweetheart. He craves human affection and will eagerly shower you with kisses and cuddles. Get ready for a loyal and loving companion. Buster is a smart pup, but his high energy can sometimes get the best of him. He'll benefit from patient, consistent training to help him channel his exuberance in a positive way. A structured training regimen will help him become the best furry friend he can be. Buster is already crate trained, which is a big plus. It provides him with a secure space and can aid in his training. He also loves mental games. Buster loves to be on the move, whether it's going for long walks, playing fetch, or exploring the great outdoors. His energy level is boundless, so an active household or someone who loves outdoor activities would be a perfect match. While Buster enjoys the company of children at dog parks, he might be better suited for older kids who can match his energy and playfulness. Buster is looking for a forever home that can provide him with the love, attention, and exercise he needs to thrive. If you're an active individual or family who's willing to invest time in his training and enjoy his boundless affection, Buster may be the perfect addition to your home. We don't know his breeds but the search engine forces us to make a choice and since he acts like a Lab mix we marked him as such. If you’re interested in Buster, please I’ll out the pre-adoption application at https://linktr.ee/northernstardogrescue
