Story
Hi I’m Lyra, If you want to add a little unconditional love to your life...I am right here!! I’m an active, fun loving and sweet 9 month old little girl. I am in search of my forever family and home that will love me and make endless memories with me. I am the missing piece to completing your wonderful family. Investing your love into me will be so worth it!! I am good with older children and other dogs. I was rescued from an overcrowded rural shelter. Please add a lotta unconditional love, sloppy kisses, tail wags and endless happiness to your family and contact jbrescuerangers@yahoo.com for an adoption application and bring me home. I will come with the works (Spayed, up to date on everything, micro chipped, fecal, heart worm tested if age appropriate, heartworm, flea and tick prevented, a free vet visit and medical insurance). What more could a new family ask for? Love and Kisses, Lyra

Story
Meet Shade! Shade is a 9 months old male Lab mix who came to us after his owner could no longer care for him and he was given to a family member who ultimately could not keep him. He was surrendered here to find a forever home. Shade is a good boy who enjoys car rides, is crate trained and walks nicely with a no pull harness. He is still not 100% potty trained -- if he is crated or riding in the car he will not have accidents but loose in the house he will. We are confident that he will pick up on housetraining fast when a routine is established and with good supervision. He currently weighs about 70 lbs. Shade appears dog friendly, we aren't sure about cats (he has not lived with them). He would probably do ok with children but has never lived with them either. Shade's adoption fee is $150 and he is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm negative. Please stop by the shelter to visit and adopt, or call/email with questions: 630-553-9256 or animalcontrol@kendallcountyil.gov

Story
This is Luna she’s 5 years old and the sweetest little companion to have. She loves to play ball and adores her bath time. I would say shes energetic and would fit best in a home with a family who is able to give her undivided attention. Especially a household with older kids. She loves to be around people and can get anxious when shes by herself but other than that she’s pretty well behaved. She’s grown up with two cats her entire life and they get along great. Overall she’s a family dog through and through and thrives off of being the center of attention. good with smaller dogs and kids. Highly recommend her going to a home where she can be attended to and or a household with other dogs to keep her company.

Story
I got her at 6 weeks old from a friend that could not keep her because she had an old dog that did not get along with her. My landlord will not let me keep her. She does well going outside but does still have accidents. Will need a little more training. She is super sweet with everyone and everything. She is high energy and needs to be stimulated. She also still loves to chew so will need lots of chew toys. I have vet records. She is only 4 months old and 27 pounds. She is a chocolate lab mix but does not look like she will get over 45-50 pounds.

Story
This 9-month-old, 30 lb Lab/Terrier mix is equal parts spunky and sweet, and she's on the lookout for her forever family! Mary is a playful pup who absolutely loves romping around with the resident dog in her foster home. She plays hard, wrestles joyfully, and is always up for a game of tug or a shared snuggle. She gets along great with other dogs and would thrive with a playful canine sibling who can match her energy and help her learn the ropes. She's also house-trained and crate-trained, though she does have some crate-related quirks. Mary tends to get protective of her space and isn’t a fan of people approaching her crate unless it’s time to let her out. Outside of the crate, she’s been social, loving, and well-mannered around both adults and kids (ages 10 and up). Mary is still a young pup, so she’s working on her manners—like keeping all four paws on the floor when greeting people and learning not to “surf” the table for snacks. She knows “sit,” comes when called (most of the time!), and is starting to follow her foster brother’s lead in ringing the bells to go outside… though sometimes it’s just a clever way to distract him and sneak a toy. She may bark for a few seconds when new people arrive—but she’s a smart girl, and her foster family is working on building her confidence through training and consistency. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and clever young dog to grow and learn with, Mary could be the perfect match! She’ll do best in a home that’s ready to continue her training, offers some structure, and ideally has a friendly dog to play with. If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $350  will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs.
