Story
Meet LunaLuna is a 4-month-old puppy with the sweetest personality! She is a wonderfully calm and quiet little girl, but don't let that fool you—she also has an adventurous side and loves to explore and play.Luna is a bit of a gentle observer when it comes to play. She likes for you to initiate the fun, but once playtime starts, she is all in! Afterward, she's more than happy to roll over for some cuddles and belly rubs. She absolutely loves being loved on.Luna's PersonalityLuna is an adventurous cuddler with a medium energy level. She enjoys exploring her surroundings and discovering new things, but she also knows how to relax. She loves:Crinkle and squeaky toysChew toysSoft treats and Beggin' StripsLittle pieces of chickenRolling around and playing outsideLearning to play fetchCuddling and getting petsShe especially loves rolling onto her back for attention and belly rubs. If her foster family is in the kitchen, Luna likes to come over and check in—she loves being near her people and being part of whatever is happening.Home LifeLuna is pretty easygoing when it comes to her surroundings. She is comfortable with both noise and quiet and enjoys having people around. She would do well in a home where she can safely explore and have opportunities for play and enrichment. Because she is still a young puppy and has not started going on neighborhood walks yet due to needing additional vaccines, her exercise and exploration currently happen at home.TrainingLuna is doing very well for such a young puppy! She is mostly house trained, although she can still have an occasional accident, particularly when she gets very excited after playing. Her foster family is continuing to work with her as she learns to recognize and communicate when she needs to go outside.Luna is also crate trained. She has made great progress with being left in her crate. During her first week, she had an accident when her foster family left for church. The following week, they left her with water, appropriate chew treats, and a toy—and she did wonderfully with no accident! She is learning:SitStayCalmNo biteLuna may initially protest when crated while her family is nearby, such as during mealtime. With gentle reminders to "calm," she settles down and adjusts. She has shown no food or toy resource guarding.Meeting New PeopleLuna is curious and excited when meeting new people. Her first instinct is to investigate and play! She has also been comfortable in new spaces and has adjusted well to her foster environment.Other AnimalsLuna has not yet had direct interaction with dogs outside of her littermates because she is still waiting to be fully vaccinated. With her littermates, she is great and playful. She has not lived with cats. She has seen a neighbor's cat through the fence and simply noticed it without having a reaction.Luna & KidsLuna is wonderful with children! She currently interacts with children ages 3, 5, and 10. She especially enjoys spending time with the 10-year-old, who sleeps in the same room while Luna is crated. Luna loves hanging out with the kids and being part of the family.HealthLuna is not yet spayed. Her spay is expected to be scheduled for November.Luna's Perfect FamilyLuna would love a family who will continue helping her grow into the wonderful dog she is already becoming. She needs a family willing to continue working on house training, basic commands, puppy manners, and socialization as she becomes old enough to safely explore the world. If you're looking for a sweet, gentle puppy who loves to explore, play, and then curl up for cuddles, Luna could be the perfect addition to your family. She's got a little bit of adventure, a little bit of playfulness, and a whole lot of love to give.
