Story
We adopted Rosie when she was only 9 weeks old. She's lived with our family that consisted of two kids and two cats and most recently this year a newborn baby. She's always been friendly and kind with the children and curious and kind to the cats. With our kids becoming more involved with sports these days and the new baby our schedules have become too busy to allow Rosie the attention she really deserves. We hope to find her a loving new home with a family who can appreciate all the love she has to offer.

Story
~Adoptable Toucan Dan ~ Handsome Dan, is a spunky, adorable, sweet, energetic, one year old boy who loves to cuddle! Dan was adopted from our rescue in May of 2024 at about 3 months old when no concerning behaviors were observed. Dan was surrendered back to rescue when he was about 6 months old for play and biting that was escalating to a point of being more intense than typical puppy behavior. Dan’s family noticed the behaviors escalate after sending Dan to a board and train program that used aversive training methods. Even several months later, poor Dan will still occasionally flinch with approached quickly/touched in the neck area. When Dan was returned to rescue, we wanted to ensure that we were setting him up for success with guidance from our vet. We have been ensuring that he gets daily mental and physical stimulation. Dan has also been neutered while with us. Dan has been back with us in rescue for 10 months and we have not seen any concerning behaviors. He has been with 3 different foster families and has really thrived in his latest foster home, with foster mom sharing that “he is the easiest foster she’s had yet!” Dan is crate trained, and potty trained and loves meeting new people and animals. He is the first to greet people when they enter his foster home and wants to greet everyone when he goes on walks. Dan is doing well walking on a leash, but since it’s exciting to make new friends, he is still learning to walk without pulling. He loves other dogs so much, that sometimes his playfulness can be a little too much and “annoying” to older dogs or dogs who are not as playful.  A similar sized dog who is playful or a home by himself would be best, although he has done fantastic with his little foster puppies. Dan loves playing in the fenced in yard, but also enjoys going for walks and for car rides, so would love an adopter who enjoys being outside and who would like an errand buddy! Young children can be overstimulating for many dogs because of their fast movements and often higher volume levels so we think a home with children ages 10 and up would be best for Dan. “Toucan Dan” deserves the best. He is truly a rescue favorite and has thrived over the past 10 months. If you think this handsome, smart, cuddly boy would make a great sidekick for you, please complete the application below. Dan is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and neutered for an adoption fee of $375. https://form.jotform.com/fairytailsrescuemd/dogpuppy-adoption-applicationd  June 10, 2025, 9:44 am

Story
Oh sweet, sweet Elmer!!! This guy really does have it all. He’s the perfect mix of fun loving & super affectionate! Elmer is up for any exciting adventure that comes his way and rides great in the car! He’s a kind & gentle soul who loves to snuggle and give soft kisses. Elmer gets along with everyone he meets and is a super easy going dude. Though he didn’t receive the care he deserved in his previous home, you’d never know it based on his happy-go-lucky demeanor. Elmer had a terrible skin infection that was left untreated and he also required entropian surgery on both eyes. Now he is all healed up and he’s also completed a 30 day professional board & train program! Don’t miss out on this absolutely fantastic pup! Elmer is sure to bring lots of joy to the lucky humans who adopt him!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Breed(s): Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Mix Age:  3 years Weight:  65 pounds Vetting Status:  Neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm negative & maintained on preventatives. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Looking for a dog that is all about YOU? A best friend, a loyal companion? Trevor may just be your guy!   This handsome, eager to please fella was found as a stray, completely emaciated. He gained over 25 pounds and looks like a completely different dog!   Trevor is crate trained, but  much prefers having less restrictions and more freedom. His house manners have been stellar in his foster home -- no accidents or incidents. Trevor loves people, a love bug that wants to be the center of someone's world!   Hanging out and being in your presence & playing with his K-9 companions fulfills his days.  Stuffed Kongs are certainly on the favorites list too.   This sweet boy is a highly intelligent and rapidly picked up on learning an array of commands to include sit, lay, paw, kennel, down and no.   Trevor also enjoys going for a car ride & will gladly offer to ride shot gun on all your important trips...  petstore, mcd's, bank with a drive thru giving out cookies, etc. Trevor has been exposed to a vast array of other dogs, both big & small.  He would love to have K-9 companions,  but surely would not argue with being a SHD (single hound dog) & the center of attention.  Cats seem super fun to chase (eek!) and would NOT be recommended. If you think Trevor may be the pup for you, please visit the link below to fill out an application. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TREVOR  is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore. An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link -- https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt. The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. ~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 18, 2024, 12:10 am

Story
Meet Tina, a gentle soul with a heart as big as her playful spirit! This gorgeous girl is a unique mix of Labrador, Pitbull, and possibly even a herding breed, giving her a one-of-a-kind look and an even more extraordinary personality. At about 70 pounds, she’s got some solid “main character energy,” but don’t let her size fool you—when Tina gets excited, she turns into a delicate little dancer, prancing around with her whole bottom wiggling. It’s impossible not to smile. Tina is estimated to be around 4–5 years old and is hoping to find her forever family to share all her love, loyalty, and goofy antics with. She has a playful side with a sweet, dainty playstyle that makes her a joy to be around. She’s great with kids, though because of her size, a home with children 5+ would be ideal to avoid any unintentional toppled toddlers. Tina isn’t overly interested in toys; her favorite kind of fun comes from playing with other dogs. This girl is a total social butterfly with other dogs and loved her shelter playgroups. She absolutely adores her foster brother, and the two have become the cutest pair of best friends. A canine companion not only makes her happy, but will also help her work off those extra pounds she’s aiming to lose. Tina does have one unique quirk—she can be fearful of men at first. But with patience, consistency, and a gentle approach, she learns quickly that she’s safe and warms up beautifully. She’s a smart girl who listens well, is easily redirected, and truly wants to please her people. She’s also proven to be cat-friendly, peacefully living with cats in both her previous home and her foster home. Tina loves getting out for walks—you can tell it was part of her routine in the past. She may pull a bit on the leash when something catches her nose, but she does wonderfully with a harness, which is a better fit for her size. She already knows “sit” and “down,” and just when you think she’s had enough affection, she’ll gently paw at you for a little more love. This girl soaks up every bit of attention she can get! This Christmas, give your family the most perfect gift—welcome Tina into your loving home. She promises you won’t be disappointed.
