Story
Breed(s): Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Mix Age: 3 years Weight: 65 pounds Vetting Status: Neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm negative & maintained on preventatives. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Looking for a dog that is all about YOU? A best friend, a loyal companion? Trevor may just be your guy! This handsome, eager to please fella was found as a stray, completely emaciated. He gained over 25 pounds and looks like a completely different dog! Trevor is crate trained, but much prefers having less restrictions and more freedom. His house manners have been stellar in his foster home -- no accidents or incidents. Trevor loves people, a love bug that wants to be the center of someone's world! Hanging out and being in your presence & playing with his K-9 companions fulfills his days. Stuffed Kongs are certainly on the favorites list too. This sweet boy is a highly intelligent and rapidly picked up on learning an array of commands to include sit, lay, paw, kennel, down and no. Trevor also enjoys going for a car ride & will gladly offer to ride shot gun on all your important trips... petstore, mcd's, bank with a drive thru giving out cookies, etc. Trevor has been exposed to a vast array of other dogs, both big & small. He would love to have K-9 companions, but surely would not argue with being a SHD (single hound dog) & the center of attention. Cats seem super fun to chase (eek!) and would NOT be recommended. If you think Trevor may be the pup for you, please visit the link below to fill out an application. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TREVOR is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore. An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link -- https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt. The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. ~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption!

Onyx would make a great livestock guardian dog!! Onyx is very stressed living in downtown Baltimore. A new environment was recommended by his trainer where he can thrive and be a happier pup. He has done an intensive board and train and has great training. He is healthy, neutered and up-to-date on all shots, takes monthly preventatives and registered with Baltimore city. He currently takes one low cost medication to help manage stress. He is leash and car reactive. He loves playing with toys, and will sleep by your side for hours. He has a cat buddy who he is gentle with. + will need someone experienced with resource guarding behavior. It requires management techniques, e.g. trading out toys and crate feeding. + housebroken, no accidents if you leave him alone, which can be for up to 4 hours if he doesn't have access to a backyard. + does not destroy furniture +would make excellent guardian dog + would be able to deliver him in 100 mile radius of Baltimore, MD

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is a courtesy posting. Please call 410-627-6563 for information. His name is Moose. Or Moosie Goose. Or Juicy Moosie the Silly Mongoosie. Whatever you decide to call him, call him adorable! His ears are just like velvet. He has a nice, shiny coat that is scrumptious to pet and what may be the world's most flexible neck. Moose has many wonderful qualities to share with you. He is fully house and crate trained. He knows basic commands and walks well on a leash. He enjoys being your kitchen companion but does not counter surf or get into trash. He’s smart, sleeps through the night and lets you sleep in the morning. He’s super quick at learning routines. He's very polite about taking treats and is treat motivated, especially if they smell yummy. Some of Moose’s favorite things are: running at top speed in the yard, the idea of playing fetch with a tennis ball just not the actual returning of the ball, and playing with toys all by himself. He will throw balls around for himself with a flick of his head. He makes for a great work-from-home office buddy. He mostly naps during the workday, plays with various toys, and provides occasional wellness checks. He's an independent kind of dog and happy to do his own thing. What kind of home is Moose looking for? He needs a home with adults only that is away from the hubbub of a busy city. He must have a home with a securely fenced yard that is big enough for him to run some, around 1/4 of an acre or more. His family needs to have time to give him some exercise daily, like a 20-minute walk or two! Oh, and a healthy supply of tennis balls! Moose has a quirk of wanting to guard his family, both from visitors and other animals, and does not like to share with other dogs. His foster family is working with him on this, and we want to make sure his forever family has some experience with this type of behavior and how to handle it. Because of this behavior, ideally he would be the only pet. He could live with a cat who keeps to themselves and is dog-savvy. In his foster home, he chased the resident cat but backed off when smacked by the cat. Moose enjoys playing with other dogs but is selective of who is a worthy play partner. It’s possible with a supervised introduction he could live with a submissive dog who is great at reading other dogs.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 2:50 pm

Story
Introducing Carlson, a handsome 3-and-a-half-year-old purebred yellow lab! Carlson has been a cherished member of our family since he was a playful puppy, but our living situation has changed, and we're looking for a new loving home for him. Carlson thrives in a calm environment and does well with children, but we recommend he goes to a home without other pets or children. He's loyal to his family but can be wary of strangers and doesn't like unexpected approaches. With the right guidance and training, Carlson will flourish and show his true loving nature. This smart boy is house trained, loves his treats, and enjoys outdoor activities like fetch and running. If you have the time and patience to help Carlson adjust to his new home and possibly complete some behavioral training, he'll reward you with endless loyalty and companionship. If you think you can provide Carlson with the loving, single-dog home he deserves, please reach out to us with any questions or to meet Carlson!

I have been through alot of recovery and am getting around great (see I was partially paralyzed for a month or two after the accident) but with the knowledge and love of my foster family I WALK again! I am pretty independent now and ready for the COUCH of my dreams! Look at my video and see how far I have come.
