Story
Current Location: Frederick, MD Gambet is a great big, tender, and kind gentleman with a soft heart and soulful eyes. From the moment he arrived, he began looking to his people for guidance, quietly asking for reassurance and comfort. He is gentle, thoughtful, and deeply affectionate. As he settles in, Gambet has shown just how trusting he is. His ears were dirty when he arrived, and he calmly let them be cleaned. He even allowed a nail trim on each front paw without fuss. He loves being brushed, enjoys hands-on care, and happily leans in for pets. He sheds quite a bit, but grooming time is something he seems to find soothing and bonding. Gambet potties outside and slept well through the night. He whined a little at first, then settled and rested peacefully. He did not eat until the next morning, likely still decompressing and wondering where his old family went, but once comfortable, he ate and relaxed. He still whines softly from time to time, which feels less like anxiety and more like a gentle check-in with the world around him. He knows basic commands like sit and paw and is eager to please. He has already started giving sweet kisses and shows how much he enjoys human connection. Right now, you will often find him resting quietly, soaking up affection, and slowly learning that he is safe. Gambet is a very good boy with a huge heart. He will thrive with someone patient and kind who understands that sensitive souls need reassurance as they begin again. In return, Gambet will offer loyalty, affection, and steady companionship.

Story
Current Location: Glen Rock, PA Meet Kindle – the Heart of the Toasty Bonfire Litter 🔥 Kindle is a gorgeous, 2-year-old, 50-pound mama who came all the way from Alabama with her four precious puppies. While her babies are starting to look for their forever homes, we can’t forget the incredible mama who made sure they were safe and loved. Life hasn’t been easy for Kindle — it seems she spent much of her time surviving on the streets before rescue. But now that she’s warm, safe, and cared for, she’s blossoming into the sweet, gentle soul she was always meant to be. She’s still putting a little weight back on (as most nursing mamas do!), but she’s already looking so much better and feeling more confident every day. Kindle is learning all the joys of home life — soft beds, regular meals, and loving humans. She’s doing wonderfully with her potty breaks and is mastering the art of holding it until her walks. Confinement isn’t her favorite thing just yet, but she’s learning that crates and quiet spaces aren’t so scary after all. She’s also showing how smart she is by picking up “sit” quickly and showing enthusiasm for learning new things. One of Kindle’s most striking features? Her two different-colored eyes — one blue and one brown — that seem to tell the story of her strength and resilience. She’ll be spayed before adoption, and whoever brings this girl home will be incredibly lucky. Kindle needs a patient, loving family who will continue showing her that she’s safe, cared for, and never alone again. With a little time and a lot of love, she’s sure to shine as the loyal companion she was always meant to be. 💛 I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started!

Story
Roxy is a loving four month old puppy with smooth golden fur and white accents. She follows you from room to room and lights up when you sit down so she can climb in for a cuddle. She has a soft nature and an easy charm that makes you fall for her fast. ENERGY AND PERSONALITY Roxy stays busy with her foster sister and charges around the house in happy bursts. She plays with toys, carries squeakers like secret treasures, and settles into your arms without effort. She watches the television with full focus and brings a gentle curiosity to everything around her. TRAINING AND BEHAVIOR Roxy settles in her crate after a short moment and is learning house routines. She goes when taken outside and responds to praise. She learns fast with treats and shifts away from mischief with a simple redirection. She relaxes once she knows what you want. SOCIAL LIFE Roxy loves her dog foster sister and greets new people with an open heart. She studies the cats with interest but responds well when guided away. She enjoys being part of the action and rests near you when her play ends. SPECIAL TRAITS Roxy carries toys from room to room like prized possessions. She melts into belly rubs and drops her whole weight into your hands once she feels safe. Her mix of exploration and tenderness gives her a sweet balance. BEST HOME FIT Roxy will thrive with a home that understands puppy energy and offers a steady routine. A family that is home often will help her grow with confidence. A dog companion would support her learning. Older children who respect her space will do well with her.

Story
Hunny is a very active 1 year old puppy. We have had her since she was 8 weeks old when a family member’s dog had puppies. She loves to run and play with toys. She will sit most times when told and sometimes will lay down. She can be defensive when a new person comes around but warms up to them very quickly. She needs some work with her house training but she is catching on. She would be best with an active family and loves to be outside.

Story
We have had Sienna since she was a puppy. My ex-husband agreed to keep her in the home after our divorce. However after 2 years he said he could no longer care for her and was taking her to the Animal Shelter in SC where he resided. I did not want him to take her to the shelter, obviously, so I agreed to take her and planned on rehoming her. We are a family of seven with one other small dog. Sienna obviously takes up a lot of room and does not realize how big she is. She is not aggressive, but is always knocking the little ones over. She has some health issues as well- reoccurring ear infections, and also has several mast cell tumors. I have spent thousands of dollars on her at the vet since I have taken her here to my home in PA in May. It's going to cost thousands more to have these tumors removed and they do not seem to be bothering her at all, and the vet also advised even after they are removed, they could just come back. She is house broken and she is not destructive.

Story
Finley is a sweet 70lb mixed breed who deserves a home where he has the space, attention, and training needed. He loves to cuddle, play ball, and chew on bones. He bonds closely with his people. He is trainable—I’ve taught him to sit and he waits his turn for treats—but he will need much more training. He does mark his territory, so he’ll need someone patient and willing to work with him. He has his DNA results and full vaccine records (vaccines due in January). He is not neutered. He will need work on a leash and getting into a car (scared of car). He would do best in a home where he can roam freely in the house. Due to my situation, he is confined to one room. My dad was placed on hospice & caring for Finley has become more than I can manage. This is a heartbreaking decision, but he deserves the time, space, & structure I can no longer give him. He is a wonderful dog who just needs the right environment to grow into the dog I know he can be. Adoption fee will go to a animal rescue.
