Meet Raven! Located in Aberdeen, MD Quick facts: - Energetic, fun, loving energy - Very friendly - Spayed Energy and personality Raven is an absolute sweetie pie. She loves belly rubs and will always give you loving gazes. She would do best in a single family home, as she tends to use her outside voice when she sees something interesting. Which would not be suitable for apartment living. Training and behavior Raven was found as a stray, so she is perfecting being inside a home and on leash. She has been making great progress on house training, but she is still learning what proper toys are. She also does best when she is in your presence and not left alone too long. She is working diligently on leash training.

Story
Location: Union Bridge, MD Meet Jeremy. This handsome 4 year old, 33 lb, Black Lab mix is the definition of an easygoing best friend. Friendly, social, and incredibly sweet, Jeremy has the kind of personality that makes everyone feel like an old friend. Jeremy gets along beautifully with kids, dogs, cats, and new people. He attended an adoption event and greeted strangers with confidence and ease, proving that making friends is one of his many talents. He is wonderfully accepting of other dogs and has a calm, passive nature that helps him fit seamlessly into almost any household. He has that perfect balance of energy that so many families are looking for. Jeremy enjoys walks, playtime, car rides, and outdoor adventures, but he is equally happy relaxing at home. He does not require constant activity to be content and is happy to match the lifestyle of his family. Want to go for a hike? Jeremy is in. Want a quiet evening on the couch? Jeremy is in for that too. Jeremy is crate trained, house trained, and leash trained. He knows sit, happily goes into his crate for a treat, and is eager to learn more. He is motivated by both praise and food, making him a willing student. At bedtime, he may give a brief raspy bark to make sure everyone is settled in, then quickly relaxes and sleeps quietly through the night. One of the most remarkable things about Jeremy is his resilience. Despite spending months in a shelter, he remains loving, trusting, and openhearted. He has not let his past dampen his spirit. Instead, he greets each day with optimism and a wagging tail. Jeremy rides beautifully in the car, usually curling up in his seat and relaxing for the journey. Loud trucks, trains, and everyday commotion do not seem to bother him. He takes life in stride and approaches the world with confidence and good humor. Simply put, Jeremy is a wonderful dog. He is the kind of companion who can adapt to almost any home and make it better simply by being there. If you are looking for a loyal friend with great manners, a loving heart, and an easygoing nature, Jeremy may be the perfect match.

Story
Current Location: Timonium, MD Meet Lyra. This stunning 4 year old black beauty weighs about 45 pounds and brings together athletic energy, affection, and intelligence in one gorgeous package. She is playful, loving, and always ready to be part of the action. Lyra is a high energy girl who thrives with activity, adventure, and interaction. She loves to run, explore, and play, and would especially enjoy a home with another playful canine companion to help match her enthusiasm. She is happiest when she has an outlet for both her body and her busy mind. She is incredibly affectionate and absolutely adores people. Lyra used to greet every new human with enthusiastic “lunging kisses,” but she has been working hard on her manners and making tremendous progress. In just a few weeks with her foster, she has improved her loose leash walking, learned calmer greetings, and continues to show what a smart and eager learner she is. Lyra has a strong prey instinct and enjoys watching wildlife, but she is learning to respond to “leave it” while out on walks. She is highly trainable and responds beautifully to consistency and guidance. She is also working on her socialization skills and continues to improve every day. While she may bark at dogs from a distance when excited, once she gets close she greets appropriately and politely. She even understands “Do you want to say hi?” and adjusts her behavior accordingly. One of the loveliest things about Lyra is her temperament around other dogs. If another dog behaves rudely or aggressively, she does not escalate. Instead, she quietly backs away or stands calmly, showing wonderful self control. Lyra is a fabulous fit for an active home looking for a loving, intelligent dog who is eager to keep learning. She has already come so far and is the kind of dog who truly blossoms when given structure, exercise, and connection. With her beauty, brains, and joyful personality, Lyra is ready to become someone’s loyal adventure partner and deeply devoted best friend.

Story
Current Location: Freeland, MD 🐾 Meet River! 🐾 If you’re looking for a happy, playful puppy to add excitement and love to your life, River may be your perfect match! This adorable black Lab mix is full of fun energy and would thrive with an active family or another playful dog who’s ready for a best friend. River loves to romp and wrestle with the resident dogs in his foster home and is always ready for his next adventure. He is happiest when he gets to be part of the action. But don’t let his playful side fool you, River also has a sweet, calm side. After some playtime, he settles in beautifully and is content to nap at his foster mom’s feet while she works or cuddle up in her lap to watch a movie in the evening. He knows how to balance fun with relaxation like a pro. River is crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night with no accidents and does well in his crate for short periods during the day. He’s very attentive on leash, eager to connect with his person, and loves to learn. So far he's doing really well with come, sit, and down. We're also working on leave it. River is still a puppy but he catches on quickly and is highly motivated by treats and praise. With continued training as he grows, he’s going to be an incredible family dog. River adores people, loves other dogs, did well when cat tested, and has all the makings of a loyal, loving companion. If you’re ready for a smart, affectionate pup who can keep up on adventures and provide endless cuddles after, River is waiting to meet you!

Story
Nash is 5 years old and was rescued as a puppy. He was listed as a Labrador Ret Mix, but we and the vet both believe he has a bit of Great Dane in him as well. He is 87lbs and fully up to date on shots.Nash is extremely sweet and gentle. Very good with kids (we have a 3yr old & 1 yr old), other dogs & cats. He just does not know how to move his body around without flopping. He is very doplic/ clumsy. He does know some basic commands such as sit, stay, etc. But getting him to listen and comply is a task.We are hoping to him a good home with another dog/ companion and room to run, that would be ideal in helping us feel better as well. Our lives and circumstances changed quite a bit after getting Nash and he’s not receiving the love, attention and exercise that he deserves.

Story
Current Location: Glen Allen, VA Introducing Bailey! This beautiful 2-year-old girl is getting rave reviews from her foster dad, who says she is absolutely wonderful! They have gone on many fun walks, and Bailey loves playing in the backyard, riding in the truck, and going to PetSmart. At the foster home, Bailey... --Does very well on leash --Is timid at first but warms up quickly and becomes friendly with everyone she meets --Is sweet, docile and friendly with a neighbors' dog --Is very gentle and patient with a neighbor's young boy, age 2 --Calmly watches over (supervises!) her foster dad while he does yard work --Goes into her crate on her own --Is house trained (no bathroom accidents) --Will sit on command --Seems to be a smart cookie! Above everything else, Bailey has a heart of gold, which contributes to her loving and nurturing demeanor, her foster dad said. Bailey was adopted in April but was returned through no fault of her own and is now back with the same foster dad. She is looking for her forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started!
