Story
We got honey as a 3 month old puppy, and she turns two in April. She was shy at first but quickly got more comfortable with our family of 6, 1 older boy and three little girls. She is playful and loving and so sweet, shes so happy to spend time with people and play and run. Shes just under 60 pounds but shes very strong, my husband is the only one whos able to walk her, but he works 6 days a week sometimes seven, so she has to get her exercise in the yard most days. We cant have her in the house because shes too energetic to have around our small children, and its not fair to have her either in a kennel or out back, and my girls would rather not play with her because she still acts like a puppy and jumps up on them, which they dont like. Shes the sweetest girl, and we want her to be in a home right for her, and it breaks our hearts that our home right now isnt the best for her. We just want her to be in a place where she can thrive.

Story
Current Location: Frederick, MD Meet Remington Remington is a gentle young dog who wants to trust and connect, and he already shows the bright and tender heart he has been hiding. He wags his tail when he sees his people, and he rolls onto his back with a soft playful hope that invites a kind hand. He is the type of dog who wants to bond deeply, and he will give that bond with his whole heart once he knows he is safe. Personality and Home Life Remi loves cheese more than anything and it brings out a spark of joy that his foster family treasures. He is still nervous at times, yet he watches his world with quiet curiosity, and each day he takes another small step forward. He seems comfortable when children are in the room, and his foster family has been giving him calm structure so he can settle at his own pace. Training and Care Remi goes outside on a long leash, and he does well in the yard during potty time. He enjoys gentle praise, small treats, and the feeling of earning trust step by step. Remi needs someone who understands that building confidence takes time, and that shy dogs bloom beautifully when they feel loved, supported, and seen. Best Home for Remi • Calm and steady environment • Patient people who enjoy slow progress • Soft guidance and kind structure • Safe crate setup in a quiet space • Slow introductions to other dogs • Predictable routines • A heart ready for a tender bond Remi is the kind of dog who will give his whole soul to the person who gives him safety and warmth, and with patient guidance he will grow into a true and loyal companion.

Story
Current Location: Leondardtown, MD Hello! My name is Doe I'm coming to OPH on 12/5. Please check back soon for updates on my personality, and to see adorable new photos. I'm searching for... * someone who won't leave me home alone for more than 4 hrs, at least not until I am older. The older I am the more I can stay home alone. I just don't want you to get mad at me if I have accidents or chew things I'm not supposed to when you leave me for too long. I'm a puppy, so I get bored quick and when I'm bored I could get in trouble. * I am looking for my forever home, not my for right now home. So as I get bigger I need someone to teach me how to be the best dog I can be. I am young and still learning. You may want to teach me some new tricks like sit, stay, etc. Professional training will help me bond with you. That sounds like fun! * I saved the most important for last. I am hoping my new mom or dad will snuggle with me, play with me and love me forever and ever! I'm making my way north in search of my new family. Is that with you? If so apply today because this cuteness won’t be around for long!

Story
Current Location: Littlestown, PA Meet Kindle – the Heart of the Toasty Bonfire Litter 🔥 Kindle is a gorgeous, 2-year-old, 50-pound mama who came all the way from Alabama with her four precious puppies. While her babies are starting to look for their forever homes, we can’t forget the incredible mama who made sure they were safe and loved. Life hasn’t been easy for Kindle — it seems she spent much of her time surviving on the streets before rescue. But now that she’s warm, safe, and cared for, she’s blossoming into the sweet, gentle soul she was always meant to be. She’s still putting a little weight back on (as most nursing mamas do!), but she’s already looking so much better and feeling more confident every day. Kindle is learning all the joys of home life — soft beds, regular meals, and loving humans. She’s doing wonderfully with her potty breaks and is mastering the art of holding it until her walks. Confinement isn’t her favorite thing just yet, but she’s learning that crates and quiet spaces aren’t so scary after all. She’s also showing how smart she is by picking up “sit” quickly and showing enthusiasm for learning new things. One of Kindle’s most striking features? Her two different-colored eyes — one blue and one brown — that seem to tell the story of her strength and resilience. She’ll be spayed before adoption, and whoever brings this girl home will be incredibly lucky. Kindle needs a patient, loving family who will continue showing her that she’s safe, cared for, and never alone again. With a little time and a lot of love, she’s sure to shine as the loyal companion she was always meant to be. 💛 I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started!
