Story
Meet Hermey!Hermey is a young puppy on the hunt for his forever home. Hermey is learning to be brave. This world is a little scary for him but with the right family, he will be the best dog.We recommend puppy classes for all of our puppies. Puppy classes a great way for your pup to meet other dogs, build confidence, and learn proper manners. Always keep training positive, rewarding, and fun. We focus on rewarding good behavior and building trust. No shock collars, prong collars, or choke chains needed. The more positive experiences a puppy has now, the more likely they will grow into a happy, well-adjusted adult dog.If your application was approved and you received a call back from the Humane Society of Macomb for a meet and greet, plan to take the animal home that day. Be prepared to adopt and to bring a home a new family member. We cannot place puppies/dogs on hold to come pick up for another day.Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Story
Meet Shadow!Hi there! My name’s Shadow and I have a huge heart, and I’ve got plenty of love to give!I’m a happy, gentle soul who loves going for long walks — I’m great on a leash and I don't pull hard. I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but if you give me a slow introduction (and maybe a few of my favorite treats), I’ll warm up to you quickly. I haven’t spent much time around young kids, but I think I’d do well with calm, respectful children around 10 and up.I get along with other dogs and have made a few good friends here at the shelter — we love to play together while I wait for my turn to find my forever home. Most of my pals have already been adopted, and I can’t help but wonder when it’ll be my turn. Once I’m home, you can count on me to be your snuggle buddy and couch companion. I’ll keep your spot warm if you get up during our favorite show! I’m affectionate, clean, patient, and ready to be the best girl I can be for my forever person. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and gentle friend — I think we might be a perfect match. *If your application was approved and you received a call back from the Humane Society of Macomb for a meet and greet, plan to take the animal home that day. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.8 month old Ari was adopted at 8 weeks old from an Amish family right outside of Kalamazoo. she was not very social at first but she became socialized while with us. She was always skittish around men, but she warms up pretty quickly. She was always around our small dogs and we never had any problem with her, until we did. She knows how to sit and lay down. We are still working on potty training. She likes to lay by your feet and loves to play with toys. She is UTD on all her shots and is spayed. She is licensed through Jackson County. I think she would love to be with someone who loves her and makes her part of their lives. Should not be with other animals, or children until deemed reliable in those situations by a professional trainer.
