I am so ready to find my own home! Here are some fun facts about me:-I love toys and romping around the room showing everyone my cool toys.-I do okay with other dogs so bring yours in for a meet and greet so we can see if we get along. -I seem to not mind cats and children. I might like them in the home.-I would be content as the only dog and pet in the home as well. -Any kind of housing would suite me. I do not need a lot of room to roam. -I am an easy going girl. I am ready to make you laugh with my goofy personality!-Lastly, my adoption fee is waived! With your love and support, I know I will blossom into the happy, confident dog I am meant to be. Story
Meet Shadow!Hi there! My name’s Shadow and I have a huge heart, and I’ve got plenty of love to give!I’m a happy, gentle soul who loves going for long walks — I’m great on a leash and I don't pull hard. I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but if you give me a slow introduction (and maybe a few of my favorite treats), I’ll warm up to you quickly. I haven’t spent much time around young kids, but I think I’d do well with calm, respectful children around 10 and up.I get along with other dogs and have made a few good friends here at the shelter — we love to play together while I wait for my turn to find my forever home. Most of my pals have already been adopted, and I can’t help but wonder when it’ll be my turn. Once I’m home, you can count on me to be your snuggle buddy and couch companion. I’ll keep your spot warm if you get up during our favorite show! I’m affectionate, clean, patient, and ready to be the best girl I can be for my forever person. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and gentle friend — I think we might be a perfect match. *If your application was approved and you received a call back from the Humane Society of Macomb for a meet and greet, plan to take the animal home that day. Be prepared to adopt and to bring a home a new family member. We cannot place adult dogs on hold to come pick up for another day.Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.8 month old Ari was adopted at 8 weeks old from an Amish family right outside of Kalamazoo. she was not very social at first but she became socialized while with us. She was always skittish around men, but she warms up pretty quickly. She was always around our small dogs and we never had any problem with her, until we did. She knows how to sit and lay down. We are still working on potty training. She likes to lay by your feet and loves to play with toys. She is UTD on all her shots and is spayed. She is licensed through Jackson County. I think she would love to be with someone who loves her and makes her part of their lives. Should not be with other animals, or children until deemed reliable in those situations by a professional trainer. Story
Meet Noah — your big-hearted holiday hero. This sleek-coated, 73-pound black Lab/Pit mix is estimated to be around 2–3 years old and is as lovable and kind-hearted as they come. He bonds deeply, adores affection, and has a joyful, contagious spirit. Noah is also a determined, intelligent boy who will thrive with an adopter committed to helping him learn through basic and intermediate obedience classes, along with consistent leash training.Noah is looking for a single-family home with a fully fenced yard where he can stretch his legs, run, and play to his heart’s content. He is not suitable for apartment, condo, or mobile-home living. This active young dog needs room to move and a family excited to provide plenty of walks, runs, and adventures. He plays wonderfully with other dogs who match his energetic style. His experience with cats is unknown, so if you have feline family members, slow and supervised introductions will be essential.Noah’s adoption fee is $100, which will go toward the cost of his neuter surgery. He is available as a foster-to-adopt until his neuter appointment is completed. After his appointment, your adoption will be final. Bring Noah home for the holidays and give this deserving boy the Christmas gift of a lifetime — a family to call his own.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $100
