Story
We are looking to rehome our beloved dog, Sonia. She is a sweet girl who has been loved and cared for her entire life. It’s because of our love for her, we’ve made the difficult decision to rehome her. She is most likely a blend of Great Dane and Black Lab, but have not tested her. She is a healthy, active dog, who’s extremely anxious and lacks confidence. Sonia needs a family who has previously had dogs. She’s reactive around other dogs. A little more about Sonia: Spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped Housebroken No known health issues, has had regular vet care Barks and jumps around new humans Fully grown, weighs 60 pounds. Will snuggle if you pet her, loves belly rubs. Needs at least 2 vigorous walks a day. Pulls on leash until you make her sit, then calms down 3 ½ years old, had her since she was 6 months Eats Kirkland brand dog food, 1.5 cups twice per day Up to date on HeartGuard & NexGard. Sonia is a loving, lovable dog. She has a long, happy life ahead of

Story
Hi there! My name is Guinness. I am a medium-sized, energetic and curious fella. I was surrendered to the shelter after my previous home was no longer a good fit for me. I would do best in a home without younger kids and with a family that can help me build my confidence as I can be nervous in new environments. Please make sure introductions to any new people and animals in the home are slow and monitored. I hope to meet you!

My adoption fee has been fully sponsored.Adopt me and pay $0.00!!!I am a beautiful girl with lots of energy and love to give. I enjoy taking walks and runs with my amazing long legs. I`m a good girl but I am young and will need some guidance and general training. I love the people who come to visit me and seem happy to see other dogs too. I will need careful introductions to people, pets, and children as I can get really excited and that can be a bit much for some humans and pets. But I am definitely a lovebug!Like many dogs in NC, I am currently heartworm positive. OCAS will be helping by beginning my treatment but you`ll need to follow up with your veterinarian! During treatment I will be on an oral medication and will need to get a topical solution monthly until I have a Negative Heartworm Test. If you have any questions about this please ask to speak with a member of the medical staff.INSIGHTS FROM MY DOG DAY OUT:`Parrot overnight stay was really good! She appears to be housetrained and knows the command `sit` and will come when I whistle. She has puppy energy still but will sit quietly under table when I eat. She gets easily excited and makes sqeaky barks. She walks when on leash until she sees another dog and gets excited. She calms down after a careful introduction. She is very food motivated and trainable. She likes to play with toys but not much interested in fetch yet. She loves people and and attention but needs to kearn not to jump up on people. She may get overexcited by small children so maybe better for family with older children. Very curious and investigates into everything. She doesn`t like being left alone, so crate training may be beneficial if she has any separation anxiety.`

Story
My adoption fee has been fully sponsored. Adopt me and pay $0.00!!!Hello all! This is Einstein and he came to OCAS as a stray, so we do not know much about his past. However, while being housed at OCAS, staff report that he is a super sweet guy! Einstein did very well for his exam and vaccinations on intake and has been a good guy ever since. He`s a big, loveable boy who loves to go on walks and play with large balls in the play yard at the shelter. He has been working on his leash walking and exercise helps him work out the stress of being in a shelter kennel. Einstein is food motivated for training. He can pull on the leash, but is very trainable so we think he`ll get even better on leash. He would love a furever home where he can get more time outside and exercising or going for long walks. He also wants love, yummy treats, and comfy dog beds. As always, we recommend slow and supervised introductions between any new and current animals/people in the home. If you have any questions, please ask to speak with staff.Check out what one of our amazing volunteers had to say about Einstein He is a smart, large boy and so handsome. His enthusiasm and strength mean he will benefit from consistent attention and handling and even some training classes. Loves stimulation from puzzle games, fetch, water, sniffing in the woods. His energy level is high but once out of the kennel he settles well. He is very affectionate--loves a good back scruff and leans in for pets. (I hear John Denver singing `Thank God I`m a Country Boy` whenever I see him).

Story
My adoption fee has been fully sponsored. Adopt me and pay $0.00!!!Dog Day Out Information: Hello Everyone! Mr. Lighning is a sweet chunky boy. He is on the older side and due to his weight may be slower than most pups. However, he still enjoys a nice short walk and soaking in the sun or even some couch time! When considering taking him out please know it would be for short walks and maybe some inside time. ThanksThis adorable dog is currently available in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting with him, please fill out an interest form https://airtable.com/shrWv1TWfsw834pBdInsights from my foster family:`His name is Lightning, but we call him him `Happy` because he`s the happiest dog. He`s housebroken, great with dogs, great with kids, not a barker, very polite, very snuggly/loving and very smart. He loves to take walks & loves to lay in the sunshine. He`s an absolute gentleman. He`s also an excellent car rider. Whoever gets to adopt him is the lucky one!` Wow - we love this amazing report from Lightning`s foster family! Of course slow, monitored introductions to any people or pets are always needed when a pet goes into a new home. And we always ask people to expect that some training will be needed as a pet gets used to a new environment. But this dog is a serious lovebug and we are so excited for him to find a good home.

Story
Meet Wraven, a loving, spirited sweetheart! Her favorite activities are playing fetch in a fenced yard and chewing on a peanut butter-filled Kong. If you can throw a tennis ball, you'll have a friend for life in Wraven! Wraven is an intelligent girl who loves to shake hands, and has also mastered Sit, Bed, and Drop It. She sleeps through the night without a peep, and often enjoys slow mornings in her crate. Wraven is always happy to spend time with her people, and she shows her affection with lots of kisses, cuddles, and requests for belly rubs! Wraven has interacted with young children very gently but she is a big girl who needs a family who will provide good supervision around little ones. Although Wraven has cohabitated with two cats, she loves them too much and likes to chase. Wraven is practicing walking calmly on a leash. She greatly wants to meet and play with other dogs she sees! Training and patience will help Wraven become the best walking companion. PHYSICAL Wraven has a silky black coat and warm brown eyes. HEALTH Wraven is up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. HISTORY Wraven's previous owner brought her to a local shelter because of financial hardship.
