Story
Georgia is an 8 month old female Golden/Labrador/Border Collie type mix who is so ready to find a family! She currently weighs in at approximately 42 pounds and is nearly full grown. We don`t expect she will go much over 50, so perfect medium size. Georgia is originally a southern girl who traveled this way with her brother Freddie, to have a new beginning up north. Georgia probably has never really had a home or a puppyhood. She can be a little timid in certain situations, is still learning the ins and outs of walking on a leash - every single day she gets better and better. Currently we are just working on picking a side and walking a somewhat straight line! She is very treat motivated and a quick learner when you give her a little time and patience so she can understand what she is asking. She is a very soft and sensitive type of girlie - but that just makes her sweeter. Once she realizes she is home - watch the puppy come on out to play!Georgia is a relatively gentle girl and would probably do well with respectful children. She seems to enjoy the company of other dogs and we can definitely see her living with a canine companion as well. Meet and greets with the resident kids and dogs are a must! We do not know how she would be with cats, but while we could see her chasing for fun, we don`t think she would necessarily be aggressive with them. We can attempt to cat test upon request, but with a young and active dog, a dog savvy cat is probably going to be best. Georgia has spent some time in a crate and did well, and has also traveled without much incident in the car. We don`t imagine that she is reliably house trained at this point, but we do think that with consistency and some House Training 101 (just like she`s a baby puppy), she will pick it up in no time at all! As we said, this girl is a quick study. Due to her lack of real puppyhood, Georgia is going to need all the things you would give to a baby pup, not just training. She will need to be taken out and about and socialized with the great big world out there. She hasn`t had a chance to see much or meet many people, and we would love a home that is dedicated to expanding her world and making her a part of it with them. Georgia is not quite ready for adoption but we are taking applications in the meantime for review.

Story
Freddie is an 8 month old male Golden/Labrador/Border Collie type mix who is in need of a happy lovely home for his happy lovely self! Currently, Fred weighs in at approximately 57 pounds, and he`s just about done growing. He traveled here from Virginia with his sister Georgia and now just needs a place to hang his hat permanently! Freddie is a sweet boy - all love if we are honest. He`s pretty brave if occasionally cautious, but what do you expect from a puppy who was never allowed to have a puppyhood? He seems to like other dogs (meet and greet would be required) and strikes us as the type who would have a lot of fun with respectable kids. Cats are an unknown and we can attempt to cat test upon request. He doesn`t strike us as being much more than a chase for fun type who should be able to learn that chasing isn`t cool (when you are the cat). Freddie is smart as can be, very willing to learn and eager to please. He has been getting better and better at walking on a leash -and once you can get him going he gets it rather quickly. Sometimes he needs to remember to walk in a little bit of a straight line, but all in all that`s not half bad! Fred has had experience with a crate and has traveled by car and seems to be fine with both. We highly doubt that he is reliably house trained, but we know he is smart enough to get it pretty quickly with a little House Training 101, just like a younger puppy. Fred probably never had anyone willing to do much with him - that is why we are looking for a family that absolutely WANTS to do all the things with their new pup. Fred will greatly benefit from people who will take him places and introduce him to the great big world so that he can finally enjoy it and all it offers. He just needs that person or people with which he can share it!Freddie isn`t quite ready for adoption but we are taking applications for review.

Story
This stunner is Jonah! Jonah appears to be a Siberian Husky/Retriever mix. He is a 9-month-old male who weighs in at approximately 42 pounds. We anticipate him being around 50 pounds when all is said and done, give or take a little. Jonah is a very good boy. He really just loves everyone he meets, is a squishy happy lovey boy, and has an amazing temperament to boot! He would likely do fine in a home with another dog, as well as a home with kids. Meet and greets required for both! Cats are a total unknown. If he is true to his husky roots, it`s probably for the best that he goes to a feline free home, but we can, to the best of our ability, try to see his reaction to cats upon request. Regardless, it will probably be something that needs work! Jonah came to us from the Mahoning County Dog Pound, and as such, we don`t have much background information on him. He was a stray and remains a bit of a mystery. He does have a temperament to die for - very jolly and outgoing with most everyone. Occasionally, taller bigger folks may give him pause, but he recovers quickly with only a hint of suspicion. He is learning how to behave on a leash and improves with every outing. We are trying to make sure he has more and more of them! He knows how to sit and has the capacity and brains to learn all sorts of things, truth be told. Huskies can be a bit independent, outside of the box thinkers, which can challenge some owners - but this boy has enough of that highly biddable retriever in him to make it a little easier to navigate! This boy is definitely going to need regular brushing and perhaps a de-shed at a groomer twice a year, but honestly, that`s what most dogs need! No reason not to take home your blue eyed handsome man sooner rather than later!Jonah is not quite ready for adoption, but we are accepting applications currently to review.

Story
Sweet Bee is a 4 month old (as of 7/20/26) female Hound/Am Staff/Cur type mix who has traveled all the way from Southern Virginia to fine a forever home in the North! Bee currently weighs approximately 29 pounds and we expect her to be about 60 pounds full grown. Bee is perhaps the most submissive of her litter. She is spunky but not pushy in any way, shape or form. Cuddly and sweet as can be is BEE. She would probably do well with a canine companion, respectful kids, and can even likely learn to live with a kitty! Very people friendly and social in general, Bee has the makings of an amazing adult! Being a puppy means that Bee will need a family willing to dedicate a lot of time to her. She will need training, exercise, and structure along with plenty of love. Socialization is key for Bee and any puppy. She will need to go to all the places and see all the weirdness the world has to offer. Meet tons of strangers and friends alike. A puppy means starting fresh with house training, crate training and basic training. A puppy class would be an amazing way of accomplishing that last part! She is food motivated and smart as a whip - a lifetime of fun and love.Bee will be available in a couple of weeks. If you are interested in her, please fill out the application

Story
Bugsy is an adorable 14 week old (as of 7/20/26) male baby who currently weighs in at approximately 13 pounds. We believe he will be around 30-35 pounds fully grown. Now the million dollar question - what on earth is he mixed with????!!! Honestly, we cannot say for sure, but current opinion is some sort of herdy farm dog, like a border collie, had a rendezvous` with possibly a whippet and then added a small dash of terrier - perhaps a Feist? It works for us - but if someone wants to do an Embark test on him, we are ALL IN! Bugsy is a sweetheart no matter what his genetics are! He came to us from the SPCA in Martinsville VA. When he came to them as a very young, very small boy, he was suffering from malnutrition and rickets. With their tender care, he recovered completely and is now the picture of health! This kid is social, happy, and just a darling. He loves his toys, his bed, and his people. He is brilliant and eager to learn - all he needs is the right family to help him along his journey. We think he would be fine with a canine companion, could absolutely learn to live in harmony with a dog savvy cat, and would be fine with respectful children. Like any puppy, Bugsy will need a family dedicated to making sure he grows to be an outstanding adult. Puppy classes, socialization, training at home - all part of the puppy process. Is it a lot of work? YES! Is it totally worth it? ONE HUNDRED TIMES YES! We want to see Bugsy paired up with someone who wants to do all the things with him. Take him out and about to see the world, train him and give him rules to help him feel secure and safe, plenty of attention to make him feel at home and loved. Bugsy will be ready for his forever home in a couple of weeks, once his quarantine is complete and he is neutered. In the meantime, if you think he is the right pup for you, please fill out the application

Story
Ben is an outstanding dog. All he wants to do is play and be loved. Such a gentle soul. Someone dumped him at a truck stop so when I found him, he just walked right up. little puppy very skinny and fragile. I picked him up gave him a bath and feed him. He had been my buddy ever since. It seems he was being abused cause he would jump at every little noise and get low to the floor. I was only suppose to keep him a couple days but the people that said they would take him didn’t so I started taking care of him. Work a busy schedule so had to start putting him in daycare. SO affectionate. Always wants to cuddle, touch or give kisses. He needs more space he can run and some one that can give him more attention then I can. He deserves it. He really is an amazing and GOOD LOOKING, healthy boy. This is the hard part for me. I deal with chronic anxiety so he is a little detector when I’m having a panic attack. He comes and lays on me or pushes his body against my back to calm me, on his own
