**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Caulder. I'm about 2-3 years old and I weigh about 63 lbs. My 5 friends and I were brought in from a neglect situation from which 11 dogs were removed back in January. Our owners didn't give us much attention at all. We were mostly chained or kenneled since we were pups. We were unwanted litters from their unspayed female dogs. They didn't do anything with us aside from feed us and give us water (some of us didn't even have water). They haven't lived at the property with us for months now. Needless to say, we haven't really had much socialization. Everything new is pretty scary, but we do warm up pretty quickly to new people. We will need patient families that can help acclimate us to our new homes and work with us on basic training, commands and potty training. I am a very sweet girl. Once I get to know you, I am very affectionate. I love attention and belly rubs. I have been good around all of the other dogs I've met. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
This darling girl is LaLa! She is a just turned (DOB 4/4/23) three year old female who weighs in at about 45 pounds, Her mom was a field style yellow lab and her dad was a Siberian Husky/German Shepherd mix. LaLa has spent her whole life in a loving home being treated like the queen that she is. A family emergency forced her broken-hearted family to surrender her to Angels so that we could find her the perfect home. Lala is a sweet, happy, loving young lady who is full of sass and energy. She loves other dogs, but does best with ones her size and larger who can keep up with her and tolerate her rough and tumble play style. She has some issues with cats so will need a feline free home. She has been around children sporadically, but has always done well with them, trying to engage them in her puppy games. For this reason, she will need a home with slightly older kids who can keep up! She is house-trained as well as crate trained, and has great house manners. LaLa isn`t a big eater - she sort of self regulates and is more of an `eat to live` rather than a `live to eat` kind of dog. She does love her some treats, though! She adores her toys, but will most definitely de-stuff anything plushy and soft, so fair warning! Being a pretty high energy girl (lab crossed with husky? Yeah, she has energy to spare!), LaLa would be best suited to a home with a fenced in yard as she loves to run, chase, and fetch, but is not above having a walkabout and wandering off when you least expect it. She would be an outstanding walking, hiking or running partner and is built to go the distance! She is a very confident girl, but like many other dogs, she can be fearful of loud noises like fireworks, gunfire etc. While she isn`t a velcro type cuddle dog 100% of the time, she adores simply being in the vicinity of her owners without having to be inside of their skin.

Story
Goose is a happy approximately 16-month-old Labrador Retriever/Bully mix who is in search of an active home with someone who is willing to continue his training, get him plenty of exercise, and just to have fun and snuggle with!  Goose is house trained, has been good with kids in the home (kids over 10 are preferred due to his bouncy nature) and knows sit and shake hands.  He was adopted to a very loving home over Christmas, but while they loved him dearly, he and the cats of the house, did NOT love each other in the same way.  A feline free home is a must.  He seems to like other dogs (especially girls), though a meet and greet would be required.  He has been left from 4-8 hours loose in the home without any incidents at all, which is outstanding!  Loves his people, loves attention, loves life!  That`s Goose!

Story
Biggie is a good dog. He just has a little too much energy and can be kennel aggressive and reactive at times. He needs a good home where he can be the only pet and someone who has time to work with him. He can be aggressive to other dogs at times and can be extremely friendly with them at other times. Unfortunately having three children he is too much to handle in a small household with limited property. For the most part he is house broken but can slip up and have accidents when he is excited.

Story
This is Luna, we've had her for a few years. Due to our lives getting busy we have not shown her the attention and love she deserves. We want to be able to give her to a family that has the time for her. She has had issues with picking at her skin which we've had to put medicine on. This hasn't been an issue as of recently though.
