Story
Hi there! My name's Carter, will you be my new best friend?! I am a handsome boy, who they are guessing is a hound/lab mix. I definitely have some hound in me based on my howl and my love of following my nose! In my old home I was one of many dogs. One day some people came to our house and told my family that there were too many animals living there and that we weren't being cared for properly. They loaded us in a van and drove us away. To make a long story short, now I'm here at Heal Animal Rescue, and I'm hoping a nice new family will fall in love with me and take me home!!! The vet thinks I'm around 2 yrs old. I do well with other dogs, but I sure do hope there are less animals than my last home had!! I'm up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and I also have a microchip! I would also prefer an adult only home. Come visit me at Heal!!

Story
Hello! My name's Riley! I was first brought to the shelter in 2016, and after a short time I was adopted into a new family. Unfortunately I was recently returned to Heal due to my owner's declining health, and I'm now looking for another family to spend my golden years with. I know most people are looking for a cute little puppy who will chew your shoes and furniture, and wake you up all hours of the night. But why not consider a more mature relationship! I'm 11 years young, and still have plenty of pep in my step! I will shower you with unconditional love for the rest of my life, I just need someone who will give me a chance!! One thing you should know about me is that when I came back to the shelter I had a lump growing on my side. The shelter staff took me to the vet and had it removed, and unfortunately it was a soft tissue sarcoma which is a form of cancer that will likely grow back at some point. While we may not know how many years I have left, I'm still deserving of a loving family to share my life with. I know it may be scary for you to think about opening your heart to an older dog who will likely have some medical expenses in the future. But it's also scary for me not having a family to love me as I get older. Please consider opening your heart to the love of senior. I promise to make you smile every day!

Story
Introducing Bruiser, the resilient pup with a heart full of hope! At 2 1/2 years young, this handsome boy is on a quest to find his perfect match - a patient and understanding owner who will cherish him forever. Though his previous adoption didn't work out, Bruiser hasn't lost his spirit. With the help of a dedicated trainer, he's been making remarkable progress and is ready to show the world his playful side. While Bruiser prefers to be the only pet in the house, he is playful with some of our other dogs. Bruiser also probably isn't suited for a home with young children but he's all in for a lifetime of peanut butter treats and fun adventures with his new best friend. So, if you're looking for a loyal companion to share your heart and home, Bruiser is waiting with a wagging tail and open arms, eager to start is happily ever after!

Not good with kids, Not good with cats, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Aleister is a 5 year old neutered male. Aleister lacked socialization as a pup, so when he first arrived at the shelter he was extremely scared of just about everything. Since he’s been here our staff has worked to help him come out of his shell. Aleister loves car rides, playing with his stuffies, going for long walks/runs. Aleister would do best in a home with no small children and with dogs that are submissive, as he can be dog selective. ( Adoption fee paid by special Angel)
