Story
Say hello to Mike, the 3-year-old, 60 lb Labrador Retriever mix who never goes anywhere without his favorite toy. If you spot a dog proudly trotting around with a stuffie in his mouth… it’s probably Mike. He’s the full package — affectionate, loyal, and happiest when he’s close to his people. Whether you’re headed out for a drive or settling in on the couch, Mike is right there with you. He rides beautifully in the car, takes baths like a gentleman, and is fully house trained. Mike prefers slow introductions with other dogs and would do best in a home without small animals, but with humans? He’s all in. If you’ve been waiting for a snuggly, toy-toting best friend, Mike might be the one.

Story
Here's what my friends at the shelter had to say about me! "Scooby is a handsome red labby puppy who’s been through a lot — even landing in the shelter’s sick ward twice. When volunteers took him outside, he absolutely lit up! He played with toys, chased flies, and soaked up every bit of love and sunshine he could get. Scooby is treat-motivated, goofy, and full of life — the kind of puppy who just wants to make you smile."

Story
Here's what my friends at the shelter had to say about me! “I can’t get enough of this guy. Bubba is such a fun pup and incredibly handsome with the best smile. He could play for hours and absolutely adores other dogs. He met two pups and couldn’t decide who he wanted to be best friends with. Bubba walks nicely on leash, knows sit, and takes treats gently. He was a little overstimulated today and a bit jumpy, but I can easily see him settling into a relaxed, happy routine once out of the shelter. Someone is going to be unbelievably lucky to bring this playful, social, lovable boy into their life.”

Story
Cody is a lucky boy with a story that makes him even more special. He was rescued from a homeless camp in Houston, TX, where many dogs do not get a second chance. Thanks to perfect timing and some kind humans, Cody made it out and has been thriving ever since. Cody is around 10 months old and weighs about 49 lbs. He is truly the definition of a big puppy with an even bigger heart. He loves everything, food, treats, bones, toys. If you are sharing it, he is happy. He is crate trained, potty trained, walks great on leash, rides well in the car, and does awesome out in public. Bath time is no problem either. He is a medium energy guy who loves to run laps in the yard, play with toys, and get his energy out with other dogs. Cody would prefer a home with other dogs and truly shines when he has canine friends to play with. He is very socially aware and respectful, even with senior dogs or more grumpy pups. With younger dogs, he is playful and energetic and loves to bounce around and have fun. He did well on his cat test and truly does not care about cats. He may sniff and then move along. While he has not been around kids yet, we truly believe he would do great with them given his gentle and happy nature. Like most puppies, Cody still needs some supervision to avoid normal puppy antics, but he already has a solid foundation and settles well when it is time to relax. He can be a bit timid at times, is always submissive with other dogs, and is overall just a sweet, playful love bug who wants to be included and have fun with his people. Cody would make an amazing addition to a family looking for a fun loving companion, a dog friendly pup, and a buddy for everyday adventures.

Here's what my friends at the shelter have to say about me! "Rocky is absolutely gorgeous, with a thick black coat and the cutest little white booties. He was quiet and patient in his kennel, easy to leash, and thrilled to head outside. His tail never stopped wagging. Rocky is affectionate, playful, well behaved, and even snuck in a few kisses. He was curious, gentle, and patient while waiting for toys, and did great meeting other male dogs during his temp test. Just happy, friendly, and full of love. Rocky is truly the best boy and would make an amazing companion for someone looking for a sweet, playful, well mannered pup."

Story
Meet Jasper! Jasper is a 4.5-year-old Black Lab who is sweet as can be and proudly holds the title of best (and biggest) good boy This handsome guy was surrendered through no fault of his own when his owner’s living situation changed. Now he’s ready for his next chapter and his forever family. About Jasper: ~ Super treat-motivated
~ Great on a leash and currently brushing up on his manners ~ Full of classic Lab enthusiasm - play hard, love harder
~ A people-lover who truly wants to be with his humans 24/7 Jasper has always lived as an only pet, but he does seem to do well with other large-breed dogs. Meet-and-greets with potential doggy siblings are required to make sure everyone’s a good fit. He would do best in a home without cats or small animals, but he has lived with children before and done well. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, goofy Lab who’s ready to give his whole heart again, Jasper might be your guy

Story
Meet Kale 🖤 Kale is about 4 years old, around 70 lbs, and the kind of dog that just fits into your life. He’s a lab mix with a laid-back personality and a really sweet heart. He’s crate trained and house trained and honestly chooses to hang out in his kennel a lot, even with the door open. When you say “bed,” he goes right in. He listens well, knows sit and stay, and is overall very easy to manage. Kale is truly low maintenance and just wants to be near his people. He loves attention, being pet, and spending time outside. Fetch is his favorite game and he’s really good at it. Balls and pig ears are top-tier in his world. Fluffy toys won’t survive, but squeaky toys are absolutely worth the destruction. He even throws toys for himself and chases them, which is pretty entertaining to watch. Kale walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and has a nice medium energy level. He’s happy to play but equally happy to relax. He loves kids and is very gentle with them. With other dogs, he prefers slow introductions and does best when given time to get comfortable. The only thing he’s still working on is jumping when he’s really excited, especially when you come home. He’s a big boy with a big greeting, but this is something we’ve already been working on and it’s improving. Kale is affectionate, loyal, calm, and just a really good dog. If you’re looking for an easy, loving companion, he’s absolutely worth meeting.

Story
WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet Stella – Professional Snuggler, Part-Time Blanket Thief 🤍🐾 10 years young • 50 lbs • German Shorthair Pointer If you’re looking for a dog who believes personal space is optional and companionship is mandatory, allow us to introduce the one and only Stella. At 10 years old, Stella is proof that age is just a number. This gorgeous German Shorthair Pointer still has pep in her step, joy in her heart, and enough enthusiasm to power a small village. She’s the perfect medium-sized best friend — big enough for adventures, small enough to fit nicely on your couch (or directly on top of you). Stella’s life motto is simple: “Wherever you go, I go.” Need a walking buddy? She’s ready. Going for a car ride? Shotgun is her seat. Just trying to sit on the couch? Perfect — she’ll be there in 0.3 seconds. She is what we lovingly call a Grade-A Velcro Dog. If loyalty were an Olympic sport, Stella would have a gold medal, a parade, and her face on a cereal box. Her adorable highlights: • House trained (no indoor oopsies!) • Crate trained like a champ • Walks nicely on a leash • Wonderful with other dogs • Loves every human she’s ever met • Expert-level cuddler • Olympic gold medalist in burrowing under blankets Speaking of blankets… Stella takes her snuggle game VERY seriously. She doesn’t just sleep under covers — she disappears into them like a cozy little pointer burrito. If you’ve ever wanted a dog-shaped heating pad for your feet, congratulations, she’s your girl. Being a classic GSP, Stella does have a natural prey drive, so she’s not a match for homes with cats. She can also have a touch of anxiety, which really just means she thrives with someone who’s home often and enjoys having a devoted shadow. (Good luck going to the bathroom alone ever again.) Stella was surrendered through no fault of her own when her previous family didn’t have the time she deserves. Now she’s ready for a fresh start — with people who will love her, include her, and appreciate just how special she is. What she’s dreaming of: • A home where she can be part of the daily routine • A comfy couch and plenty of blankets • Walks, love, and more love • A human who appreciates a dog that sticks to them like glue If you’re a fan of the GSP breed and want a sweet, affectionate, loyal best friend who will happily follow you to the ends of the earth (or at least to the fridge), Stella is ready to audition for the role. Fill out her adoption application and give her the second chance she deserves. She promises to repay you in kisses, cuddles, and lifetime loyalty. 💛🐾
