Story
Yoda’s the name and curiosity’s the game! I’m a 1.5 year old 60 pound male Lab mix. When the ladies from Paws in Prison picked me up from the scary shelter they gave me a ride to the dog dorm and I did great in the kennel during the car ride. I’m curious about my surroundings and with the help of my new forever family I will build up my confidence to explore the world. I’m very curious to see what our new home has to offer. I am learning all of my basic obedience skills, I’m getting crate trained, potty trained and learning how to walk on a leash as well as getting up to speed on all of my veterinary exams. Won’t you please help me learn about the world? I’d love to have adventures and make my new family proud.  Go to www.pawsinprisontx.org to complete an adoption form now!! ##2149007##

Story
This is beautiful Godiva, the delightful pup who captures the hearts of everyone she meets with her irresistible charm and loving spirit! She is incredibly sociable and adores human affection, forming deep connections and bonding strongly with her people. Godiva's affectionate nature makes her a favorite among shelter staff and visitors alike. She eagerly greets every new face with a wag of her tail and a gentle nuzzle. With her friendly demeanor and loving nature, she is the perfect companion for families seeking a sweet and loyal pet. Godiva adores everyone, including children! However, she is not a big fan of cats or other dogs, so she will do best in a home where she is the only furry companion. Godiva has one of the brightest minds and quickly picks up on new commands. She knows all the basics in addition to some fun tricks, she'll even give hugs and kisses when asked! This sweet girl is also potty trained and she has lovely house manners. She walks perfectly on a leash and enjoys quiet strolls with her person. She behaves so beautifully in foster homes and during shelter breaks with her favorite volunteers. This video shows how perfect she is: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C1MsCnkuymD/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D Recently, Godiva starred in her first news debut as a featured pet of the week and she did wonderfully traveling and on set! As Godiva patiently waits for forever home, her spirit remains unbroken and her hopeful gaze is a testament to her enduring resilience. For those fortunate enough to welcome Godiva into their lives, their reward is a loyal and loving friend who will bring joy, laughter, and endless love to their home for years to come.

Story
Texas, a medium-sized dog with a heart full of loyalty and affection, is the embodiment of charm and unique quirks that make him a truly unforgettable companion. His journey began at PAWS in August 2020, where his gentle demeanor and stunning appearance quickly won hearts, leading to his adoption just a couple of months later. However, due to unforeseen financial issues, Texas was sadly returned to the shelter almost three years later. Texas is now considered a long stay at PAWS, but his story has taken a positive turn. He's currently in a committed foster home, where he's thriving and has proven to be an exceptional companion, especially with the cats in his foster family. His foster family has had nothing but praise for Texas, highlighting his seamless transition into their home and the bond they have formed. Texas' personality is a unique blend of affection and quirks. While he can be fearful of men, he just needs a bit more time and patience to get comfortable around them. In fact, he loves his current foster dad! His love for human affection shines through as he eagerly cozies up in laps and showers his loved ones with endless cuddles. His endearing bond with cats makes him an ideal match for households with feline companions. Texas is selective with other dogs and has had a few past dog friends, though he'd probably be better suited as the only dog in the home. Housebroken, well-behaved, and incredibly smart, Texas knows multiple commands such as "sit" and "lay down." His love for water adds a fun twist to his daily routine, and he thrives in environments with plenty of space to explore. He is not suited for homes with small children, but his loyalty and affection make him a cherished member of the family, perfect for those seeking a devoted companion.

Story
This pretty girl with the golden eyes is Tagalong, aptly named because she lovingly follows her people everywhere! Tagalong is the absolute embodiment of affection and devotion. She adores people so much, her entire body wiggles with joy when visitors approach her kennel. Friendly and gentle, she is easy to handle and walks nicely on a loose leash. She is also quite social and enjoys playing with her doggy friends. Tagalong recently spent time in a foster home, where she lived on a farm with children, horses and several other dogs. Her foster mom shared these wonderful notes with us: "Tagalong is such a sweetheart! She was timid when we first brought her home, but after a few hours she settled right in. She enjoys being part of a family and she loves to be close to us (she is actually laying on my feet while I type this). Tags has very nice house manners, she is 100% potty trained, and she knows how to "come" and "sit." She is a total snuggle bug who crawls into our laps and begs for belly rubs. She is also very playful and LOVES to fetch! She gets along well with our farm dogs, as well as many other PAWS foster pups. We notice that she does have some stranger-danger with new people, and she appreciates gentle introductions. A really nice thing about Tagalong is she has excellent recall and stays close to us, even when off-leash in open terrain. She's also great around our livestock and horses, she would make an excellent farm dog. Overall, Tags is just an easy-going and happy girl, and we love her!" Tagalong's adoption fee is sponsored and we are committed to helping her find a loving family. She promises to be a devoted friend for life, come meet this sweet girl!

Story
Meet Nala, a spirited and affectionate dog who's looking for a special home where she can truly shine. This lovable girl is best suited for a household with adults or older children, as she can be a bit cautious around strangers and prefers a more predictable environment. Nala can be fearful of other animals, as she would do best as the only pet in the home. However, with her impressive command knowledge and strong leash skills, she's eager to be a loyal companion for someone willing to give her the time and space she needs. Nala is a dream come true for anyone who loves outdoor activities and splashing around. Her enthusiasm for water makes her an excellent partner for trips to the beach or lake, and she's always ready for a game of fetch or a swim. Potty trained and well-behaved on a leash, Nala is a model of good manners when it comes to her daily routine and walks. Her energetic and loving nature shines through, making every outing with her a delightful experience. Although Nala has a few quirks, such as her resource guarding tendencies with food towards people, but these are easily manageable with some patience and training. She's a bright dog who knows her commands and responds well to guidance, making her a great candidate for an experienced adopter who understands her needs. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who's ready to bring joy and adventure to your life, Nala might just be the perfect match. Come meet her today and see if she's the furry friend you've been searching for!
