He’s a fun-loving, energetic pup who’s happiest when he’s splashing in water or soaking up attention from his people. With his high energy and zest for life, he’ll thrive in an active home—ideally one with a spacious yard where he can run and play. Since he’s spent most of his life in a kennel, he’ll need some patience and guidance with potty training, but he’s eager to learn and ready for a fresh start with a loving family.

Senior Spotlight! Captain Crunch radiates joy and happiness so much so that he has to dance by tapping his paws on the ground! Despite his age, Captain still has plenty of energy to give to his next family. He loves to go on walks, play with a good tennis ball, give hugs and kisses, and he especially loves to smile and show off his charming underbite. Possibly not the brightest bulb, Captain frequently lets things go in one ear and straight out the other, but his love for people and other dogs makes him a certified sweetheart! He loves to snuggle in blankets and would make a perfect cuddle buddy. Captain does great with other energetic dogs, but he might be too much to handle for smaller or elderly dogs. We did try to see how well he would do with cats, but his interest was a bit too elevated for us to give him the approved Cat Pass. Captain Crunch is desperate to get out of the shelter. He was a long stay at another shelter before we pulled him to PAWS, and is coming up on being a long stay here, too. We're eager to get him out of the shelter!

Don't be fooled by Pluma's age — she deserves to spend the rest of her life in a loving home just as much as any young pup out there! When we asked our Kennel Techs what notes they had on her, they said she is "such a lovebug, literally a perfect angel." She has amazing leash-manners and is loved by everyone who meets her! Pluma first came to PAWS in August of 2017 and was adopted within days of being here. However, in October of 2025, we received a call that she had been surrendered to our local county intake facility by her owners for unknown reasons. Immediately we arranged to get her back, but she has had little to no interest since being here. Why? We still aren't sure. She is great with other dogs, does well with cats, and although we haven't seen her with kids yet, we think she would do just fine. This sweet senior is eligible for adoption and foster!
