Here’s Apollo’s updated bio with a stronger emotional pull: Meet Apollo — Still Waiting for His Turn Apollo is now 1 year old, and while he has watched so many of his friends leave for their forever homes, he is still waiting. He watches them go, one by one, and he simply doesn’t understand why no one has chosen him yet. Apollo is a happy, energetic boy who is absolutely full of life. He loves to play, explore, learn, and be part of everything happening around him. He has so much love to give and is ready for a family who will include him in their adventures and help him continue becoming the incredible dog we already know he is. Behind all that energy is a sweet boy who just wants to belong. Apollo has waited long enough. He deserves to know what it feels like to be the one packing his bags, saying goodbye, and heading home. Please don’t let Apollo watch another friend leave without him. Could you be the family he has been waiting for? visit www.pawsinprisontx.org ##2579831##

Story
Bentley is an extremely energetic and fun dog! I adopted him through a mutual acquaintance after getting to know him at the park. Unfortunately, since adopting him we’ve found him to not get along with our cats, so we will be unable to keep him. Bentley is very loving, high energy, and enjoys being around all the action! He loves playing, chasing, and wrestling with other dogs, and gets along well with most every dog and human alike. The ideal home for Bentley is one with other dogs and plenty of space to roam and play! He wounds make a fantastic ranch/ farm dog!

Story
Euro has successfully completed a 2 week board and has been in foster since! Next step: find his forever family. Here’s what his foster has to say about his progress: “Since picking him up from board and train, we’ve mainly been continuing to practice what I was taught there, especially around leash manners and walking. The biggest thing we’re working on is helping him stay calm before we start a walk, since he gets excited when he knows he’s about to go out. Once we’re moving, though, he does an amazing job. He walk right beside me with the occasional tug to sniff, which we are working on, but overall he does phenomenal on our walks. He’s been an absolute sweetheart! He craves human attention and affection, but in a very sweet way - he’s not pushy about it. He really seems to want to please and is very attentive to his person. He listens extremely well both inside and outside the home. I’ve also taken him to private off-leash areas, and he’s done great there as well. He enjoys exploring, but consistently checks back in and stays very aware of where his human is. He has a really nice balance of confidence and attentiveness. Honestly, I have very few notes for him. He’s such a good dog.” Euro is a fun-loving, energetic pup who’s happiest when he’s splashing in water or soaking up attention from his people. With his high energy and zest for life, he’ll thrive in an active home—ideally one with a spacious yard where he can run and play. Euro is very eager to learn and ready for a fresh start with a loving family. Could that be you?

Story
Senior Spotlight! Captain Crunch radiates joy and happiness so much so that he has to dance by tapping his paws on the ground! Despite his age, Captain still has plenty of energy to give to his next family. He loves to go on walks, play with a good tennis ball, give hugs and kisses, and he especially loves to smile and show off his charming underbite. Possibly not the brightest bulb, Captain frequently lets things go in one ear and straight out the other, but his love for people and other dogs makes him a certified sweetheart! He loves to snuggle in blankets and would make a perfect cuddle buddy. Captain does great with other energetic dogs, but he might be too much to handle for smaller or elderly dogs. We did try to see how well he would do with cats, but his interest was a bit too elevated for us to give him the approved Cat Pass. Captain Crunch is desperate to get out of the shelter. He was a long stay at another shelter before we pulled him to PAWS, and he is now considered a long stay with PAWS.

Meet Sersha 💛 Sersha is a sweet, affectionate girl with a playful spirit and a heart full of love. She absolutely adores spending time with her people, whether that’s cuddling up for affection or engaging in a fun play session. Sersha does well with dog-savvy cats and has shown she can have positive, friendly interactions with other dogs. She’s a social pup who enjoys companionship and continues to build her confidence in new situations. She’s crate trained and loves having her own cozy space to relax. One of her favorite things is puzzle toys—she’s a smart girl who enjoys a good mental challenge just as much as physical play!
