Story
7 years old (estimated) Neutered male 70 lbs Has done well meeting kids No known experience with other dogs or cats Bucky is a bright, friendly pup with a whole lot of charm. Smart as can be, he already knows his basic commands and loves showing them off—especially if treats are involved! His playful spirit really shines in the snow, where he’ll bounce, zoom, and roll around with pure joy. And after all that fun? Bucky is a professional napper who loves settling in for a cozy snooze. If you’re looking for a fun, loving companion who brings happiness wherever he goes, Bucky might just be your perfect match. The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.December 9, 2025, 11:09 am

Story
Meet Bolt Three years ago Bolt was found as a homeless starving puppy in Amman, Jordan. (Many dogs in this country are treated poorly and treated like vermin, so Bolt was lucky that a kind-hearted man rescued him.) The gentleman (whose name is Ahmad) was shocked to discover that someone had injured Bolt so badly that he could only open his mouth about 1/8 of an inch. Bolt couldn’t chew, bark, pant or defend himself. And the only way he could eat was to push tiny bits of soft food (between his front teeth) using his “wrist”. So Ahmad sent Bolt to a doctor who claimed he could fix Bolt’s broken jaw. But sadly, the surgery was not done properly, so it was unsuccessful. Ahmad wanted to do everything he could to see that Bolt had a chance at a happy, normal life. So he saved his money for two years until he finally was able to pay for Bolt’s very expensive flight( from Jordan) to our small special needs rescue (One Starfish Rehoming Connections) in Wisconsin. The 24 hr. flight was very traumatic for Bolt, so it took a few weeks for him to recover. But after he settled in, we scheduled Bolt’s surgery (to be done by Dr. John Silbernagel, a well-renowned Board Certified orthopedic veterinary surgeon in Madison, Wi.) Fortunately, this surgery was a success!!!! Although Bolt's face is still a little bit "askew" (we think it makes him look all the more charming) he no longer has any special needs. And he is now able to open his mouth and do all the “doggie” things that dogs do—chewing on bones, panting, barking, etc. Bolt has endured a lot of suffering, but he is still a very sweet, quiet laid-back fellow who LOVES to “shake hands” with everyone he meets! Bolt is ready for a new beginning—with an adopter who will love him and care for him for the rest of his life. He would prefer not to be a latchkey dog (so an adopter who works from home, is retired, or just works part time would be ideal). We hope to find an adopter who is just the right fit for Bolt. (We are, admittedly going to be fussy.) But, if you think you are the perfect match for our “almost-perfect” dog, please e-mail us at: sylvialovesme@gmail.com and tell us about yourself, your family, your daily schedule, if you have other pets, etc. Then, if it sounds like Bolt would be a good fit for you, we will send you an application and we’ll then try to arrange a meet-and-greet.

Story
Name: Baxter Breed: Lab mix (85 pounds of YOU ARE MY BEST FRIEND AND I LOVE YOU) Age: Senior, but don't tell him. He still has a full head of hair and the ladies love him Rescue: Albert’s Dog Lounge Current Location: Marshfield, WI Meet Baxter- the perfect man. He’s housebroken (doesn't pee next to the toilet like SOME people we could mention), vaccinated, microchipped, and has a way better personality than your ex. We said what we said. A word of caution: Baxter is not a huge fan of thunderstorms, and he does better in a "boomy room".... an interior bathroom, a dark closet, wherever he is somewhat shielded from the sounds and sights. Add a melatonin and he’s right back to being your charming, goofy sidekick. Car rides: While Baxter would happily call shotgun and jump in the front seat, he doesn't know right from left and cannot read road signs, so you might want to consider a human for that spot. He is otherwise good with riding with you, especially if there is a pup cup involved. Behavioral Highlights *I am good with dogs and kids. Cats are an unknown, but be cautious. I do have a decent prey drive. *I can be suspicious of men. TBH, it was one man, and it was my foster mom's boyfriend. He had shifty eyes. I have been fine with men elsewhere. *Leash walking: A harness is a good choice with me. I am a big boy, and when we first set out on our walk, I get excited and may pull a bit. I redirect with a gentle "no", and settle into strutting my stuff like the superstar I am. *“Affectionate nibbler.” I may occasionally mouth arms, shoes, or dog friends’ ears to remind you that you’re loved (and that you’re not paying enough attention). I will also use my head or paw to remind you that you are being remiss in the belly rub department. *I may bark at sirens and strange dogs, but I stop if you ask nicely. Paying the cheese tax gets me to focus on being quiet quite nicely. I will wrap my paw around your leg like we're about to slow dance to Marvin Gaye. Cancel your plans; I've got the playlist covered. I am big into 80s slow jams. You should be too. I am dog-friendly and great with older kids who appreciate a lovable goof with no sense of personal space. I may knock over a very small human, but it would be accidental Favorite Pastimes Cuddling like it’s a full-time job*Looking at you with soulful eyes*Decorating windows with his best nose art*Sleeping like he just pulled a double at the snuggle factory Walk-out song: Smooth Operator by Sade Favorite season: Fall. So many sniffs to sniff, leaves to cronch through, and tailgate parties to attend! I don't even care who wins, I just want the brats and cheese curds! Fashion: Red smoking jacket with velvet lapels. And some slippers. I'm fancy like that. If you’ve got a sense of humor, a soft couch, and a heart big enough for a man like Baxter, apply now! He's been waiting for you! Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
Meet Mazzy Starr Adoption Fee Sponsored by Susie Nessler, in loving memory of Apache and Tracker Nickname: The Blonde Bombshell Breed: Yellow Lab Rescue: Albert’s Dog Lounge Age: 4 years young Weight: 42 lbs of pure golden sunshine Hometown: Texas (where everything’s bigger, including my personality) Current digs: Edgerton, WI Personality Snapshot: I’m a curious, confident, and loving with a heart of gold and fur softer than your favorite throw blanket. I adore people — especially men (what can I say, I’ve got a type) — and I’m cool with submissive dog friends who don’t mind that I like being Queen Bee. Cats? Eh… let’s just say I prefer a good chase over polite conversation. I am good with free-roaming in the house when you are gone, so no need for a crate! I love all people, big, small, short, tall, male, female. I am a big fan of repairmen, electricians and plumbers. Just something about a man who can fix things.... I will offer to go home with them every time! I also love love love car rides. Ever want to kidnap me? Open a car door. I'll hop right in, a willing victim. Tell me “HUGS!” and I’ll come running like it’s my full-time job. Seriously — big, snuggly, full-body hugs are my brand. Mazzy Stats: Sleep style: On the people bed if at all possible, but I will easily redirect to a dog bed on the floor if you ask nicely. Meals: 1 cup high-quality kibble, twice daily. Nom nom. Snore-o-meter: 1/10 I am a lady like that. Bark-o-meter: 3/10 I will let you know when someone is coming, but otherwise, I keep it down. Shedding: 4/10 I sparkle. You’ll sparkle. We’ll all sparkle together. Fart-o-meter: 0/10 A lady doesn’t toot. Fashion sense: Think sporty chic — tennis skirt and matching sun visor. Signature color: Red — because it pops against my golden glow. Walk-out song: “Fade Into You” by (who else?) Mazzy Star. Favorite season: Summer! This Texas girl was born for sunshine, leisurely walks, and backyard barbecues. Dream job: Walmart Greeter — I have the smile, the enthusiasm, and the "Hi! Hi! Hi!" energy for days. Biggest dislike: Farm machinery and big trucks. I bark to remind them who’s boss. Bucket list: Car rides, a fenced yard, a loving family, and maybe a moonlit dance or two. Special Notes: Mazzy has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which means her skin is a bit more delicate than most dogs. Roughhousing with rowdy pups isn’t her jam, but gentle play, cuddles, and calm companions are perfect. Her skin can tear pretty easily from claws and teeth, so supervision with other dogs is a must! She’s smart as a whip — she knows “come,” “stop,” and “hugs” — and she’s got the softest, bunny-like fur you’ll ever touch. The Details: Spayed & microchipped Housebroken Takes treats gently Walks nicely on a leash (a gentle leader helps when she gets excited!) Rides like a champ in the car Can free roam when left home alone Up to date on vaccinations & preventatives Mazzy Star is ready to shine in her forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate sidekick who will fill your world with love, laughter, and hugs on demand — your Texas sweetheart is waiting.
