Hi! My name is Malachi and I am 3 year old male mixed breed. I am microchipped, heartworm tested, neutered, and current on my vaccines. 3 words that describe me: Affectionate, Playful, Energetic Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I'm a big boy with lots of energy! I love zooming around the yard at CRHS. I'm also very affectionate and will demand pets by putting my head under your arm. I can be a little reserved of new people, but once I get to know you I'll be your bff! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10) 8/10 Housetraining Status: I'm still working on it, but with a consistent schedule I should catch on fast! I should do well in a home: Any children in my potential home will need to be 13 years or older. I am required to meet all dogs in my potential home before adoption. I have never met a cat before so my humans don’t know how I will be around them. My favorite activities are: Getting love and affection. I will come sit between your legs and lean on you. I also really love to play with my people, especially with squeaky toys. Things I need work on are: I am a big boy who isn't aware of my strength and size, so some basic training would help so I'm not so jumpy when excited. I also tend to pull on the leash. Any special needs: None Doggy day out notes: "He's the sweetest boy. LOVES the snow. Loves pup cups, treats, snuggles and stuffies. He's happy just being near his people. Great in the car, great in the pup cup drive thru. He just wants love. He is a completely different dog after some positive reinforcement, love, cuddles, and rewards for his good behavior." " Malachi did super on his DD outing! He did great going through a couple of drive thru's and with men and women we encountered. He loved being at the house gnawing on a bone and playing with a toy. Malachi is very sweet, friendly and he always does great being out! He is a favorite of mine to have out. Love this boy! He will do great in a home setting! Malachi loves attention & affection from his human and he likes to snuggle right up to you putting his head in your lap. We went shopping at Wags and Whiskers where he picked out for himself a pigs ear and a jerky stick which he showed down on both. Malachi is such a calm, mellow pup and once he warms up to you your his fav human who he loves getting affection from. Malachi will definitely make a great companion for a person/family and will thrive in a home environment 💙" "He is such a happy dog and he jumped up and gave me a hug when he saw me. We took him to the pet store and he picked out a toy and a treat. He was really good with everyone he saw men, women and kids. He takes treats very gentle. He walks good on leashe. He was really good in my truck he looked out the window and laid down and took a nap. He got a pup cup and was really good at the drive thru. He played with his toy a little bit but was definitely more interested in his pig ear. Hes a great dog and calms down quickly and relaxes when he is out and away from the shelter and gets comfortable. He loves to give kisses and lean his head on your lap or shoulder. He is a great dog. Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: “Shy at first but warms up fast with treats!”, “Loves playing fetch”, “Sweet and playful guy once he comes out of his shell” Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10) 7 – Playful guy! Housetraining Status: Working on it, needs training. I should do well in a home: I should do well in a home with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust. I am required to have a dog to dog meet with any dogs in the home to make sure I am compatible with them, before going home. I have never met a cat before so my humans don’t know how I will be around them. I would do great in homes with children of any age but may prefer a quieter home due to my initial shyness. My favorite activities are: I’m a big fan of my toys. Rope toys and squeaky toys are pretty great, but nothing beats a good tennis ball! To have someone look at you the way Luna looks at a tennis ball or a stick… Lovable miss-Luna is as ready as ever to land herself a forever family of her own, and one that’s willing to play endless fetch would be her DREAM! Luna (female) is a 4 year old silver lab who joined the New Leash family in pretty poor physical condition due to some negligence + thyroid levels that cause hair loss & needed some medication/maintenance. Fast-forward to today…Luna is doing pretty incredible! Her previous foster family had shown her the unconditional love she’s never known, her fur is filling in nicely, and she is ready for a forever kind of love! Luna's biggest obstacle is that she is dog reactive, so she needs to be the only pet in a home with a fenced yard. Luna is currently in boarding and working on training, but really needs a home to call her very own. More about Luna: 50lbs 100% potty-trained crate-trained a well-mannered girl who is a good listener! LOVES car rides (copilot, anyone? ) will show off her tricks for some yummy treats! affectionate & loving (kisses, cuddles, belly rubs…you name it! ) would play fetch all day, every day if you’d let her! continuing to work on her leash etiquette (which she previously had no concept of), and is improving every single day! ADORES her people! More about Luna’s home requirements: A fenced-in yard would be her dream, because: 1. alllllll the fetch and 2. roaming + sniffing to her heart’s content! Being the only dog would be ideal. Luna is your typical “covid dog,” so the socialization skills she should’ve received as a puppy are nonexistent. Her initial reaction is to become quite anxious around new dogs…so if she’s not the only dog in the home, she’d require a low-key, non-reactive 4-legged friend. She would also need to do several meet & greets with him/her prior to adoption! She continues to learn “how to dog” every single day. Luna can be anxious around younger kids.
