Story
Meet Gigi, the irresistible Lab Pit mix who defines the term "gentle giant." This affectionate sweetheart has a heart of gold and a penchant for snuggles that could rival the coziest of blankets. Gigi is not just a dog; she's a cuddle bug extraordinaire, ready to melt into your arms and fill your days with endless love and warmth. Gigi has lived with dogs in the past and enjoyed their company, she can be unsure about visiting dogs in the past and be a bit picky about her canine companions, therefore we require a dog to dog meet at the shelter before adoption. She hasn't lived with cats in the past so we are unsure how she would do. Gigi lived with children of all ages in the past and enjoyed their company and having people to play with, she should have no issues living with children again. All Gigi dreams of is a cozy couch to curl up on with her favorite person, sharing moments of comfort and companionship. So, if you're ready to open your heart to a loyal and affectionate companion, Gigi is eagerly waiting to become your forever cuddle buddy. Gigi is a 5-year-old female Lab pit mix, weighing 55 pounds. ***If you are interested in adopting please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Life goals?? To have someone look at you the way Luna looks at a tennis ball or a stick… Lovable miss-Luna is as ready as ever to land herself a forever family of her own, and one that’s willing to play endless fetch would be her DREAM! Luna (female) is a 3 year old silver lab who joined the New Leash family in pretty poor physical condition due to some negligence + thyroid levels that cause hair loss & needed some medication/maintenance. Fast-forward to today…Luna is doing pretty incredible! Her foster family has shown her the unconditional love she’s never known, her fur is filling in nicely, and she is ready for a forever kind of love! More about Luna:  50lbs 100% potty-trained  crate-trained  a well-mannered girl who is a good listener!   LOVES car rides (copilot, anyone? )  will show off her tricks for some yummy treats!  affectionate & loving (kisses, cuddles, belly rubs…you name it! )  would play fetch all day, every day if you’d let her!   continuing to work on her leash etiquette (which she previously had no concept of), and is improving every single day!  ADORES her people! More about Luna’s home requirements:  A fenced-in yard would be her dream, because: 1. alllllll the fetch and 2. roaming + sniffing to her heart’s content!  Being the only dog would be ideal. Luna is your typical “covid dog,” so the socialization skills she should’ve received as a puppy are nonexistent. Her initial reaction is to become quite anxious around new dogs…so if she’s not the only dog in the home, she’d require a low-key, non-reactive 4-legged friend. She would also need to do several meet & greets with him/her prior to adoption! She continues to learn “how to dog” every single day. Has been around kiddos as young as 5 years and done wonderfully, so would do just fine with children of most all ages!  Luna is in-need of a new foster and/or forever home by Saturday, September 23rd. She is eligible for our foster-to-adopt program, so please reach out if you think she possibly sounds like a good fit for you. APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com **Luna’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. ##1817860##

Story
Two words: THOSE. EARS!! Let us introduce you to adorable “little miss” Dobby. Dobby (female) found herself in an overcrowded shelter in Texas when her previous owners no longer wanted her…and sadly, surrendered her. Because of her ever-so-sweet personality, she was soon moved to a private foster home where she spent some time prior to her trip north. She now resides at a foster home in Wisconsin, has settled in quick, and is crossing her paws for a forever family to show her all about the wonderful things in life! Dobby was born on 10/26/23, so is now just over 6 months old. She weighs-in right around 40-45lbs (& is all legs and ears! ), and her paperwork lists her as a black lab mix…but — if we had to guess — definitely has some other mystery breeds mixed in. Dobby is a smart girl and a quick learner! She has learned how to sit, and really follows suit with the other dogs in her foster home. She is eager to play with and please them, and just wants them to be her buddies. She loves playing catch and chewing on bones. She wasn’t a huge fan of her kennel to begin with, but with plenty of positive reinforcement and practice…she is learning that her crate can be a safe space! Dobby adores people. She simply likes to be in their presence, but isn’t necessarily a big snuggler! She much prefers sitting next to you and/or laying on a bed nearby with the other pups. Because of this, we think she’d really benefit from having another doggy friend in her forever home! Her foster family has a resident kitty…and Dobby is very, very interested. So although it may take a proper introduction + plenty of maintenance, we do think she’d be able to coexist with a dog-savvy cat in the home. She would definitely do best in an active home — one that will take her on plenty of walks/hikes/adventures/etc.! She did visit the dog park once; it was scary at first, but after just a bit of time she gained confidence and then really enjoyed herself! She loves to romp and run (especially after the ball! ). She has only had one accident in her foster home, so is pretty much 100% potty-trained. She doesn’t have a strong tell for her humans quite yet, but is learning to wander near the door when she needs to be let out. On a consistent routine, she thrives! She truly is a sweetheart with such a great temperament and loving personality. If you think she sounds like the perfect fit for you, please apply + reach out via private message. Just ask for Dobby! APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!) **Dobby’s $250 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines to date, heartworm test, and microchip. ##2041584##

Story
Sweet little Remy is about a year old (not quite) and 40 lbs...and is a great lab mix pup who was found wandering the streets of San Antonio by a UPS driver. She had been surviving off of rain puddle water and scraps for weeks, was covered with fleas, filthy, and very thin. Since she didn't get a lot of good socialization as a puppy, she is timid when she meets new people…but she warms up pretty quickly! She will likely continue to trust people even more when she has a family to call her very own. Remy loves playing with other dogs! She’s also been fine with the children she has met. We aren't totally sure how she’d be with cats. She loves going on walks, playing fetch, and taking dips in the pool. She is housebroken + crate-trained! She’s truly a sweetie, through & through. **Remy’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, microchip, heartworm test, rabies & distemper vaccines. Story
Introducing the 7 plant pups! (YAY Spring!   Next up, we have: beautiful Celosia! She is the third of the 6 girls (Poppy, PJ, Aspen, Azalea, and Clover) in this litter (Ash is the only boy). They came from a crowded shelter in Texas where they were at risk. We believe they may be some sort of lab mix, but really your guess is as good as ours! ‍ All 7 pups are approaching 4 months old and all weigh roughly 25-35 lbs, so they will be fairly good sized as adults!  With this crew now being 4 months old, we are wanting to get them into their own homes so they can each learn how to live without their siblings. We’d of course prefer adoptive homes …but a separate foster home would be great as well!    Here’s a bit more on Celosia: female LOVES to play outside + with lots of fun toys!  sleeps in a crate at night [currently with her siblings, so may need a little transition time learning to sleep alone]  loves other dogs, including the large high-energy male dog in her current foster home!   a bouncy, lovable girl adores humans (kiddos, too!)   treat-motivated + anxious to learn  working hard on potty-training & doing great on a consistent routine (because the pups have not been separated, they’ve not yet been fully housebroken…it’s quite hard to simultaneously potty-train 7 pups! )  sweet, snuggly, + super adorable **Celosia’s $250 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines to date, and microchip.  If you’re interested in adoption (or fostering!), please private message us or APPLY HERE if you haven’t yet: https://newleashdogrescue.com ##2050535##
