Hughie is a darling poodle with the softest heart and the sweetest little soul. Once he feels safe, he is truly the kind of dog who melts right into you. He loves being close to his people and is a total Velcro dog in the best possible way. Hughie can be a little unsure when meeting new people, but with a little patience and confidence-building, his affectionate side comes shining through. Once he trusts you, he is all love. He will even fall asleep in your arms when you hold him like a baby. He likes other dogs, is potty trained, and enjoys getting out for walks, though he can get excited on leash and is still learning his manners. Hughie would do best with a patient, loving adopter who understands that he just needs a moment to feel secure before becoming your devoted little shadow. If you’re looking for a loyal, cuddly, deeply sweet companion, Hughie is ready to find his forever person.

Meet Skipper! He is a very sweet loving dog who does take time to adjust to his people and new environments. He likes to go anywhere his people are and is always down for an adventure. He does require another dog in the home as he look at them for comfort and direction. He is use to a pack of dogs and would be happy to have siblings. He has been around a cat and didn't mind her but might chase to play. He is currently in foster with a staff member from Milo and goes on hikes in Tilden with her dogs and he does really well. His recall is a work in progress but with treats he will be by your side. He has the best zoomies and has opened up a lot! She is working on getting him comfortable with the car as he can get a little car sick but he is getting a lot better and working on his confidence building. He loves to play with both people and dogs, play fetch, hide and seek, and more! He has a lot of energy but will do anything to cuddle by your side. If you are looking for an active small dog who will also lay by your side, he is your guy!

These castaways washed up on Milo’s doorstep sick and terrified. With proper medical care, good food and daily attention, they are slowly learning they are safe. It’s taking us time to work through the shyness, but it’s very evident that they just want to be with people they love. With patience and TLC, these sweet Shih Tzus are blossoming into loving companions. Gilligan is the quirkiest of this bunch. He is independent but has made huge progress since arriving at our adoption center.

Howell/Ace of Hearts is getting over his skittishness and showing his playful, cuddly side. He’s a really sweet, soft, perfect-sized dog (20 lbs), with sweet grey-brown coloring and an adorable heart shaped patch of white fur on his chest. He’s youthful and playful, but has a chill, low-maintenance personality. With his current foster mom, he is affectionate, obedient and attentive. He cooperates with putting on his harness for walks but lifting each leg in turn, and is very gentle and well behaved on the leash. He seems fine with other dogs, showing interest and appropriate behavior. He likes to play a lot, chasing his new favorite squeaky ball and rag toy, but not manic or zany. He’s very quiet, and has only barked a little when he’s seen a squirrel in a tree and when he gets especially excited to play. He loves to sit outside under a bush chewing on his bone toy for hours. He’s taken to collecting socks and shoes from around the house, but hasn’t chewed on anything except his toys. He’s sleeping well at night in his dog bed. He shows no signs of aggression at all - has a very gentle mouth for taking treats. When he’s uncomfortable, his tail drops and he retreats. He’s going to make a lucky family very happy, and is suited to an active family who will continue to let him relax into his true, sweet, loving nature with everyone.
