Ginsburg may have been an adventurer in his youth, exploring the city in search of excitement and street snacks, but now he's ready for the comforts of a warm, loving home. Having seriously neglected his beauty routines during his wild phase, Ginsburg is now being pampered with soapy baths, a stylish buzz cut, skin-soothing meds, and soul-soothing cuddles. He's just the sweetest, friendliest guy around, and is clearly so happy to finally be cared for and comfortable. Ginsberg gets along great with other dogs! He has a decent amount of energy for a senior and would love regular adventures and walkies. He is very sweet and adorable! Here's some notes from his foster: Ginsburg is gregarious and cuddly! He is great with people and other dogs he meets on walks. Because he practically always runs and never walks, he could potentially overwhelm a dog sibling who goes at a slower pace than him. Aside from marking his territory on Day 1, he has had zero accidents indoors. He also knows "sit" and "stay," so I think he has had some basic training in a past life. He loves walking around in the neighborhood and in parks. Commercial areas might be over-stimulating; he likes to try and enter almost every store, and he gets a bit restless when he's inside a store. He does talk quite a bit; when he's excited, when he senses strangers near the house, when he's left alone. (But he is treat-motivated.) I have not yet left him alone for a long period of time. He would be a great addition to any home!

Kristmas was fearful and very nervous at the shelter when we rescued her. She is a special behavior needy dog. Kristmas needs time to warm up and feel safe. She can be handled and picked up. She was neglected with matts and had very long toe nails. She was probably too isolated prior and then left in the streets. Kristmas was fine meeting another dog on leash. She was nervous at our vet but they were able to care for her and clip her long nails. She is now in a quiet foster home and relaxing. At first she stayed in her crate inside dog pen and just watched. The next day she felt safer and ate a little. Finally came out and walked out to yard for potty biz. Sniffing and hanging out with the foster home's gentle friendly small dog. Kristmas needs time to decompress and feel safe. Will need an experienced guardian and quiet home situation with attached back yard. More info. to come. She will only eat home made cooked food. Foster home makes chicken or turkey with rice and veggies. She won't eat store bought kibble nor can. Update on day 2: At foster home she is very slowly warming up. She follows their 2 dogs around and out to yard. She needs a very experienced home with another dog to feel safe. Best no kids or older kids 10 yrs and up. She will flinch at fast movement and is head shy. She needs more time in her foster home to learn and be less fearful. She slowly will jump on the sofa and go to foster mom to sniff hands. Kristmas is eating very little now and likes Weruva canned food. She is still too nervous to eat a full meal. So maybe in another 2 weeks she will be normal but shy behavior. She was probably too isolated since a puppy so new people and places make her very nervous. Need to move slow and let her set her pace to trust and feel safe. She will not walk on leash but can be guided on leash at home with another dog around. Will take time for her adjust. She is not a dog for social outings or parks. Mar 2024: She is now walking on leash with a harness. Follows people and foster home's dog on walks. She was a very picky eater but foster home makes home-made meals of meat/veggies/rice for her and their dog. She now loves her food!May 10, 2024, 12:53 pm

Story

Cody and Molly are a sweet bonded pair who came to us after their mom passed away. They are kind, considerate and gentle little lambs. Cody is 28 lbs (needs to lose some weight!) and Molly is 13 lbs. Cody is 17 years young and Molly is 18 years young. They've been indoor dogs for a long time with little to no outdoor time and they're happy to enjoy the great outdoors, especially when it's sunny! These two really are the sweetest pair of buddies they look forward to spending forever and ever together. Cody came to us with bladder stones, had surgery and is now on a special diet to help prevent this from occurring again. Molly and Cody are a very sweet pair who don't ask for much, just a loving, warm and cozy home where they get to enjoy indoor and outdoor sunshine time together.
