Story
These castaways washed up on Milo’s doorstep sick and terrified. With proper medical care, good food and daily attention, they are slowly learning they are safe. It’s taking us time to work through the shyness, but it’s very evident that they just want to be with people they love. With patience and TLC, these sweet Shih Tzus are blossoming into loving companions. Gilligan is the quirkiest of this bunch. He is independent but has made huge progress since arriving at our adoption center.

Story
Howell/Ace of Hearts is getting over his skittishness and showing his playful, cuddly side. He’s a really sweet, soft, perfect-sized dog (20 lbs), with sweet grey-brown coloring and an adorable heart shaped patch of white fur on his chest. He’s youthful and playful, but has a chill, low-maintenance personality. Right now, he’s bonding with women and slower to come around to men, but that should change with time. With his current foster mom, he is affectionate, obedient and attentive. He cooperates with putting on his harness for walks but lifting each leg in turn, and is very gentle and well behaved on the leash. He seems fine with other dogs, showing interest and appropriate behavior. He likes to play a lot, chasing his new favorite squeaky ball and rag toy, but not manic or zany. He’s very quiet, and has only barked a little when he’s seen a squirrel in a tree and when he gets especially excited to play. He loves to sit outside under a bush chewing on his bone toy for hours. He’s taken to collecting socks and shoes from around the house, but hasn’t chewed on anything except his toys. He’s sleeping well at night in his dog bed. He shows no signs of aggression at all - has a very gentle mouth for taking treats. When he’s uncomfortable, his tail drops and he retreats. He’s going to make a lucky family very happy, and it suited to an active family where a female can take the lead at the beginning and continue to let him relax into his true, sweet, loving nature with everyone.

Skipper is the most outgoing and engaged of this bunch. He is bigger than his sibs, and is always in front of them in case they need protecting. He is super playful and food motivated. Once he trusts you he loves to roll over for some belly rubs. These castaways washed up on Milo’s doorstep sick and terrified. With proper medical care, good food and daily attention, they are slowly learning they are safe. It’s taking us time to work through the shyness, but it’s very evident that they just want to be with people they love. Story
Let`s get this out of the way: Divine is kind of a catfish. This adorable 8-year-old Maltese mix came in to us from Fresno County with long, luscious locks of hair which we then cut. The dog you meet will not have this luxurious mane but look at what she can become! Divine is a sweet, yet shy, little lady. She`s looking for someone who will have the patience to let her choose when to grace you with her wonderful snuggles. Once she opens up - which doesn`t take too long! - she pushes her head against your hand for affection and follows you anywhere. She thinks chin scratches are the best thing since sliced bread!Divine may be a senior sweetie, but she`s still got it and is ready to show just how hip she can be! Come meet Divine today and fall in love (just remember that her coat will grow back!)

Story
Aerobics is a spunky little Maltese girl with a built‑in radar for fun and a serious case of FOMO, always wanting to know exactly what is going on around her. Her eyesight may be a bit on the blurry side, but her superstar ears and extra‑sharp sniffer more than make up for it, helping her quickly tune into your every move so she can prance over, join the action, or supervise the situation like the tiny, adorable hall monitor she is, all while bringing that playful, energetic Maltese charm that keeps life interesting and full of laughs. She loves to stay active, whether that means trotting along on walks or zipping around during playtime, and her friendly nature makes her a happy companion for other dogs who enjoy a social, lively buddy by their side. Here's some notes from her foster : She’s a really sweet little fluffball - the way her tail bobs back and forth to greet you is truly adorable. She loves to spend her days relaxing in elevated, squishy places like a bed or sofa and she’s a quietly confident woman who knows what she wants When she enters a new room she’ll find a piece of furniture and sit next to it asking you to pick her up and put her on there (she can do small steps too, but she’ll ask if there’s no obvious way for her to climb up with her cute little legs) She also loves to nestle herself in a pile of toys or at my feet while I’m working. She finds her way around new and old spaces really easily! She is pretty low maintenance and is comfortable being left at home alone , but she also moves with ease and a little speed and is good on a leash. She eats really well and loves mealtimes. She gets along well with other dogs and shares my space with my 5 year old 45lb dog well!
