Story
Name: Thicket Nickname: Thicket the Ticket. Sweetheart. Spicket. Breed: Havanese? Maltese? Terrier mix? Age: ~ 2 years Sex: Female Weight: 12 pounds Before OMD: Found in the woods, brought to the shelter, and was immediately stressed out by the busy kennel - they reached out to us and we were lucky enough to have an open foster for her. Key descriptors: Cute. Sweet. Silly. Strong. Adventurous. Entertaining. Active. Curious. Playful. Bouncy. Energetic. Inquisitive. Involved. Fearless. Energy level: Medium-high. She’s a busy body and always on the move. Walks could always stand to be a little longer in her opinion. Affection level: She’s an independent girl, but doesn’t shy away from a good snuggle from time to time. Moonlights as: Neighbourhood watch captain - you, or a squirrel, or a leaf… are not getting by the window unnoticed. What we love: How she reaches out her front legs to say hello to you. When she dramatically flops down and rolls over to show her belly. What she loves: The great outdoors; she never wants to come inside. What this means for you: No couch potatoes! If you’re looking for a quiet lap dog she’s not the gal for you. Could be funny/could be annoying: She’s a howler when things get exciting. Caught in the act: It’s rumoured she’s been spotted on top of the coffee table and counters once or twice. What she knows: Sit. Come. What she’s working on: Walking nicely on the leash - she may be little but she’s a puller. Finding her indoor voice - girl’s got a set of lungs on her, which may not be best suited for apartments. Dogs: Sure! Thicket currently lives with her foster brother…okay, foster boyfriend, and they’re pals. She can get a bit snappy and redirects towards her foster boyfriend when overstimulated (isn’t this the case in every relationship?), but redirects easily. Kids: Sure, dog-savvy kids should be fine! She does not currently live with kids, but seems to be fine with some chaos. Cats: Maybe if the cat is super dog-savvy - we suspect she’ll chase and need a fair amount of correcting. House-trained: She’s 75% of the way there! Crate-trained: Definitely not, but has proven to be well behaved when left alone. Thicket is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is available for adoption to residents of Connecticut and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org

Story
*Name: Misha *Age: 4 years old  *Current Weight: 16 lbs *Adoption fee: $475 (plus $150 spay/neuter deposit, see below for more information) Introducing Misha: a resilient 4-year-old who's captured our hearts after being rescued from a challenging hoarding situation.  Misha's journey has taught her the value of companionship, and she thrives best with another dog by her side. She's a social butterfly who loves to play and bond with her furry friends. A fenced-in yard would be ideal for Misha, as she enjoys exploring and having space to roam and play freely. We're seeking patient adopters who understand that Misha may need some time to adjust to her new surroundings. She's incredibly sweet-natured and eager to please, but she may need some extra patience and guidance as she settles into her forever home. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a loving companion like Misha, please consider giving her the chance she deserves. Together, we can give Misha the happily-ever-after she's been dreaming of. IMPORTANT: This dog has not yet been altered. SNARR requires a $150 deposit in addition to your adoption fee, as well as a strictly enforced Spay/Neuter Contract stating you will have this dog altered within 6 months of adoption. The $150 deposit will be returned once the contract has been fulfilled. To apply to adopt, fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/ PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR FAQs  ##2008730##

Story
Hello there! My name is Betti Boo and I am looking for a new home! I never thought that at 7 years old I would have to look for a new home but unfortunately, my previous owner has disappeared off the face of the earth somehow. I ended up getting confiscated by the police and held at animal control for a long time. But, I was sprung from jail by God's Dogs and after a visit to the vet, I am ready to find a new home to call my own! Foster mom says I tend to be a little bossy to the other little dogs at her house and that I will even try to chase them away from their food bowls at meal times. And I guess I have to admit to doing that, and I am getting used to having to eat by myself. I love to be with people and will follow you all around the house, and am interested in everything you are doing. I can be ok for a little while by myself if I am in my crate so I can feel safe, but if you can take me with you, that is good too. I walk pretty well on a leash. I basically ignore the cat that lives here, and get along with all the dogs, even the big ones. My beautiful hair had some mats in it and it is a little funky on my bottom, but I am still beautiful. It is like I have an apricot undercoat with a white overcoat. Really stylish I believe. Anyhow, if you would like to give me my forever home, please fill out the application and I will be waiting to meet you!! Local adoption fee is $400 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $600 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)
