Story
DOB 5-12-2019 Elias is a retired puppy mill worker, he was stuck in a cage for 5 years of his life from the time he was born. When he came he was so thin, his teeth were totally rotten and he couldn't eat. Well that was his old life, not his new life! Elias has been neutered, all teeth had to be removed, he was heartworm negative and is now on ProHeart6, up to date on all shots and has become a little on the porky side! Elias would love to have his own home now, something he never had hopes of is a reality for him now. Elias is crate trained, gets along with other little dogs, would love to be loved by someone who knew how special he is. Elias's adoption fee is 500.00, this transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC, the only one we use for our kids! The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Hi, I’m Baby Shark, a 6-year-old Maltese mix with a big attitude and even bigger personality! Despite my small size, I’m basically a cranky little old man trapped in a dog’s body, and I know exactly what I want and how to get it. 😎 I’m quirky, independent, and definitely particular about what I like—like, don’t even think about picking me up or brushing me. I’m Baby Shark for a reason, people. 🦈 Now, you may be wondering, “What does Baby Shark do for fun?” Well, I love to watch TV—especially Stepbrothers. 🛋️ I have an undeniable obsession with Will Ferrell (don’t ask me why, I just love him), and I’ll happily sit there and watch the movie on repeat if you’ll let me. Even though I can be a little grumpy at times (hey, I’m not that old, but I’m set in my ways), I’m also a huge cuddle bug. I may not want to be picked up, but I’ll happily curl up next to you on the couch for some quality cuddle time and pets. ❤️ I’m a total social butterfly and love hanging out with cats, kids, and other dogs. I’ve come a long way and have captured the hearts of everyone lucky enough to meet me. 🐾 Oh, and did I mention I LOVE chicken? 🍗 If you ever need a way to win me over, just offer me a little chicken, and you’ll be my best friend. If you're looking for a quirky, lovable little guy who’s full of surprises, then I’m your man. Adopt Baby Shark and let’s enjoy some laughs, cuddles, and, of course, some Will Ferrell movie nights together! 😄

Story
Hi! My name’s Worm (short for Wiggle Worm), and I’m a 3 ½-year-old Maltese with a whole lot of personality packed into my little body. I might be small, but don’t let that fool you—I’ve got the energy of the Energizer Bunny and the confidence of a Great Dane. 💪 I don’t walk like other dogs—I bounce! It’s like my feet are made of springs, and I’m always ready for my next adventure. Whether it’s chasing my toys, zooming around the yard, or just keeping you on your toes, I’m a whirlwind of excitement. 🌀 I’m sweet as can be and great with kids (they match my energy!). I’m also okay with dog-savvy cats who can handle my big personality. However, I’m extremely picky when it comes to other dogs. I do not get along with large dogs, so I need a home where I can be the king of the castle or have very carefully chosen small-dog friends. 👑🐾 Now, about my living situation—I need a secure yard with a 5-ft fence (no chain link for me, please—I’m clever and might try to escape!). A GPS collar is also required, just in case my springs launch me into a new adventure. If you’re looking for a bundle of chaos, cuddles, and non-stop entertainment, I’m your guy. Adopt Worm today, and let’s bounce into a lifetime of fun together! 🐾✨

Story
Buddy is a 4 yr. old maltese/shihtzu mix looking for a forever home where he can thrive. This great little guy is the perfect balance between playfulness and professional sleeper, making him an ideal companion for someone who is looking for energy and calm. He loves spending time outdoors so a home with a fenced in yard is what we are looing for, so he is able to romp around safely.  He gets along well with other dogs so he would love a canine "buddy" to play and snuggle with.  Here's the important part, so Buddy finds the perfect home!  He needs an ADULT ONLY home, experienced in resource guarding who is open to working with a trainer and behaviorist so Buddy can be understood, and all can live in Harmony.  This is something that is common in dogs and can be managed.  A strong confident person who will set boundaries for buddy, which includes keeping him OFF furniture like sofa and beds.  Buddy truly is a love and needs all the support he can get to find his perfect "forever" home.  Please only put in an application if you are able to give Buddy the structure and understanding he needs. Please go to the link to fill our our adoption application.  https://www.remembermerescueny.net/adoption-application  Remember Me Rescue does not adopt out of the local area, no transport is available.  We adopt to Long Island, Westchester, NYC area and parts of Connecticut only. Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you! ##1831887##
