Hi! My name’s Worm (short for Wiggle Worm), and I’m a 3 ½-year-old Maltese with a whole lot of personality packed into my little body. I might be small, but don’t let that fool you—I’ve got the energy of the Energizer Bunny and the confidence of a Great Dane. 💪 I don’t walk like other dogs—I bounce! It’s like my feet are made of springs, and I’m always ready for my next adventure. Whether it’s chasing my toys, zooming around the yard, or just keeping you on your toes, I’m a whirlwind of excitement. 🌀 I’m sweet as can be and great with kids (they match my energy!). I’m also okay with dog-savvy cats who can handle my big personality. However, I’m extremely picky when it comes to other dogs. I do not get along with large dogs, so I need a home where I can be the king of the castle or have very carefully chosen small-dog friends. 👑🐾 Now, about my living situation—I need a secure yard with a 5-ft fence (no chain link for me, please—I’m clever and might try to escape!). Despite my small size, I’m basically a cranky little old man trapped in a dog’s body, and I know exactly what I want and how to get it. 😎 I’m quirky, independent, and definitely particular about what I like—like, don’t even think about picking me up or brushing me. This sweet little 7 year old lady was initially afraid of everything and trying to run, hide and nip, but now that she has settled in she is a sweetie...she needs a slow "touch" if you have visitors, or go too fast with her before she has decompressed and settled in....she will still try to give you a warning nip!  Not every dog has had a loving past, and we don't know what hers was, but we do know that if you give her the time, and not try to be her best friend right away, she will come around and be a very dedicated companion.   We feel Coco would do best in a quiest home, and one that won't push her too soon, but will give her whatever time she needs to be comfortable.  It may be a lot to ask, but we know there is someone special out ther for her!  Shea  does use wee wee pad for pee pee and does other business outside.  Please go to the link to fill our our adoption application.  https://www.remembermerescueny.net/adoption-application  Remember Me Rescue does not adopt out of the local area, no transport is available.  We adopt to Long Island, Westchester, NYC area and parts of Connecticut only.
