Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at Immanual Union Church (693 Jewett Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314) from 11am-3pm.
Meet Jovie! Jovie is a 6 year old Maltese who is looking for her perfect home. She is just under 10 pounds making her a perfect side kick for travel or running errands!
Jovie's super powers are her kindness and her desire to curl up and cuddle you. She is a quiet girl who has yet to bark, and is slowly coming out of her shell to gain confidence. She can be quite nervous and shaky in a new environment, but she always remains sweet and even tempered. She will need a patient human who helps to give her the reassurance she needs.
Jovie appears to be house trained and has not had a single accident in her foster home! She goes outside and doesn't like to waste time. Jovie doesn't love a leash, it seems mostly due to the collar. I think she would benefit from being walked in a harness. Jovie's favorite thing is snoozing. Anytime, anywhere, she is ready for a little siesta. If you're looking for a sweet, gentle dog in a small package who will be excited to cuddle you, Jovie is for you!
Jovie is currently being fostered in Manhattan, NY. Her adoption fee is $600.
Jovie is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week.
