My name is GRUMPY and I’m a 5y M Tan Shih Tzu X. I’m 15 lbs of PURE SWEET GROUCHINESS. I was brought to a police precinct in the Bronx, NY and luckily the rescue was able to save me before I was taken to the shelter. I was affectionately named Grumpy because I was not immediately warm and fuzzy with the foster mom and growled at her a lot… but once I got to know her and she went slow with me to introduce me to her household… I trusted her and she can do anything to me now. I’m a little guarded with strangers and rightly so because I was pretty much neglected by my previous family. I’m housebroken and walk well on the leash and I can be picked up and handled as long as you slow. I’m a nice guy but nervous at first so I need someone who is going to be patient and believe in me and give me the TLC I need. I’m good with small dogs but am afraid of big dogs and will snap/snark at them. I’ve not met any cats so not sure about them and best if I don’t go with any young kids. I prefer to be the ONLY DOG so I can get all the attention that I never got in my previous home. My only other vice is that it’s not easy to groom me.. I’m nervous around objects coming to my face so I need to go to an experienced groomer but I was fine being handled by the vet. I need a QUIET ADULT ONLY home with someone or a couple that are home a lot and have had previous experience with a “grumpy” dog and are willing to give me the TLC and believe in me to make me the SWEET AND LOVING dog I know I can be!! Sure, she's a little on the chunky side and her back legs might need a bit of TLC, but don't let that fool you - this girl's got charm for days! Bunny is all about those chill vibes. She's mellow, loves nothing more than lounging on the couch with her people nearby, and brisk walks when she’s up for it. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. wagoninn.rescuegroups.org Snowe came to us from the NYC shelter system on April 13th. She was found as a stray and no one came to claim this sweet older gal. Snowe is a senior, estimated at 11-12 years old. Snowe is being treated for an ear infection, conjunctivitis and chronic skin issues mostly likely due to allergies which went untreated.  She also has cataracts in both eyes which has affected her vision significantly (she is mostly blind). Snowe is friendly (her tail never stops wagging), sweet and affectionate. She loves to be held and snuggle into your shoulder. Snowe is a great eater and never turns down a meal. Despite her age and a few medical conditions which need attention, she deserved to be saved and find a loving home for the rest of her days. Snowe MAY be hypoallergenic (but we can not say for sure) ... I have yet to see any shedding in 3 days. Snowe is fixed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She tested negative for heartworm. We are treating her ears, eyes and skin and looking to get her a dental cleaning. Her adoption fee is $300.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.   How to Adopt Me! As a breeder surrender, she is still getting use to people and the outdoors, however, she is curious and still loves to be held and stroked. she will happily lay and stare at what is happening around her from her bed, or will follow you out of the room and then run back to her bed once you start to come back. she is still exploring outside and working on her leash manners, but when on the leash, she wants to walk in her own direction and explore her immediate surroundings.
