Story
Meet Sabrina, a gentle 6-year-old Mastiff mix who’s in need of a special forever home. Sabrina is living with mast cell tumors (MCT) due to cancer and is currently on medication to keep her as comfortable as possible. She requires a loving home that is prepared to offer her hospice care and a peaceful environment. Sabrina can be shy with new people and may give a warning growl or snap if approached when she’s not ready. However, once she builds trust, she becomes deeply affectionate and very attached to her people. She gets along well with mellow dogs and will thrive in a calm household where she can feel safe and loved. If you have a compassionate heart and are ready to provide a supportive and caring home for a special dog like Sabrina, you’ll find a loyal and loving companion in her.

Story
Nelson is a 9-year-old, 96 lb mastiff with a sweet and affectionate personality. He loves being part of the action but, due to his age, sometimes struggles to keep up. Nelson is highly food motivated and once he sets his mind on something, he is determined—whether it’s a treat, a toy, or a game. He adores his toys and walks well on a leash, though he has some mobility issues due to Spondylosis and will need a home willing to cater to his needs and manage his pain as needed for the rest of his life. Nelson also loves to relax in bed or soak up the sunshine. He gets along with dogs of all sizes, but very high-energy pups can be a bit much for him. He would thrive in a home with calm, gentle canine companions who will play with him at his own pace. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and gentle giant who enjoys toys, treats, relaxation, and companionship, Nelson could be the perfect addition to your family. A meet and greet at the shelter is required to ensure a great fit with both people and pets. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Rufio is a gentle soul. He is a little shy and more on the quiet side. He does good with other dogs, even small ones.I just can’t say enough sweet things about this pup. He is good in a car and is learning the leash. It takes a little while for him to trust new people, but once he does, his goofy and sweet personality shines!Rufio is medium energy and would do great with any family with a little patience. Rufio is not completely potty trained. He still marks in the house but is working on that.Located in Houston, Tx. Transport to most states available for an additional fee of $300.
