Story
Bear is a 2 to 4 year old Boerboel, weighing in around 200lbs. Bear was brought to our shelter with his brother Diesel - they are not bonded and do not need to go together. Bear is true to the breed, protective of his people and property, and will need a very strong and experienced home. He is housebroken, kennel trained, and knows basic commands. No young children in the home. Preferably a solid fenced in yard. He has done well with other docile 50+lb female dogs - no other males.

Story
Diesel is a big baby of a Boerboel weighing in at approximately 200lbs, estimated to be between 4 to 6 years old. Diesel was brought in with his Brother Bear but they do not need to go together - Diesel is the more calm and sensitive of the two. He is loving and is non reactive of the other dogs big or small. He is true to the breed and is protective of his property and people, so strong and experienced home is required. Diesel is great for the vet and love going to car rides. Fenced in yard is preferred. He is housebroken, kennel trained, and knows basic commands.

Story
Meet Kimmee, a delightful bundle of joy who's just four months old and already weighs a robust 34 pounds. This sweet and friendly puppy is as curious as they come, always eager to explore new environments and make new friends. Her goofy antics and hilarious antics will have you laughing out loud. She's a real comedian, and her positive energy is infectious. But beneath her playful exterior, Kimmee is also incredibly affectionate and loving. She's always ready to give and receive love, making her the perfect companion. Kimmee is looking for a forever home where she can continue to grow, learn, and spread joy. Her ideal family is one that can match her energy and zest for life, while also providing her with the love and care she deserves. Adopt Kimmee and let her fill your life with laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Imagine finding a tiny, shivering soul, barely five weeks old, abandoned on the cold, unforgiving edge of a highway. That was Archer. He and his brother, covered in fleas and desperately malnourished, were found just in time, their fragile lives hanging in the balance. Thankfully, a loving foster family opened their hearts and home, offering them warmth, care, and a second chance. The first time his fosters took Archer and his brother into the backyard, the fear of being abandoned again was overwhelming. They ran back to their fosters, crying and shaking, a heart-wrenching reminder of their difficult start. Archer's journey has been one of resilience and transformation. He's blossomed in his foster home, surrounded by a menagerie of furry and feathered friends – dogs, cats, goats, ducks, and chickens. He's learned the joy of playful romps with big dogs, the gentle art of respecting boundaries (mostly!), and the comfort of snuggling close to a warm lap. This sweet boy, with the most endearing face you've ever seen, is a cuddle connoisseur. He'll happily settle on your lap, or as close as he can get, showering you with affection. He's a true helper, always eager to be involved in whatever you're doing. He's treat-motivated, which makes training a breeze, though he might need some guidance to remember that everyone has their own food bowl! Archer is kennel trained, but he's used to a bustling household filled with love and activity. He sleeps with a pillow, often burrowing under blankets, and he cherishes the feeling of being held close – a comfort he discovered as a tiny, vulnerable pup. Now, at about five months old and 40 pounds, Archer is growing into a big, strong boy, but his heart remains as tender as ever. He's searching for a forever home where he can share his boundless love and loyalty. He'd thrive with a family who understands his gentle nature, continues his training, and cherishes his affectionate spirit. Archer's journey began in hardship, but his story is one of hope and the enduring power of love. Will you be the one to write the next chapter of his happy ever after?

Story
This gentle giant was surrendered to us after his elderly owner passed away unexpectedly. Coming to the shelter has been a big adjustment for Loki. He's ten years old and had been with his owner since he was ten weeks old, so this much new is a lot on this old dog. Nevertheless, Loki has settled in at the shelter, and has adjusted to his new routine. He spends time out in the yard with volunteers, which he loves, as well as going for leashed walks. Loki is a big boy, weighing in at around 120lbs. He is sweet natured, and enjoys treats and a big comfy bed to relax on. Someone with Boerbel Mastiff experience is preferred. Loki is not altered at this time but is up to date with vaccines. He has gotten along with a spayed female dog and is not a good fit for a household with cats. Loki is simply a gentle soul looking for just the right person to spend the last of his golden years with.
