Story
Meet your new BFF, Oberon! This sweet guy originally came to the Behavioral Rehabilitation Center from a situation where he was living with many other dogs. He is now ready for a home of his own! Oberon has come to embody the roots of his name, and as a “royal bear,” he seeks an environment of patience and serenity where he can reign over his kingdom. Hopefully that means living with you! Big fan of: Feasting with his peers and subjects! Oberon is a truly noble gent, after all. Any scrumptious snack will do—this prince is not a picky one. He also enjoys playing the jester with other members of his canine court and would love having a doggy sibling in the home, but he’d also be happy as the sole heir to the throne. The best canine companion for Oberon would be one who is not intimidated by his large stature and most dignified galumphing. Oberon would like you to know that he would greatly appreciate lots of petting, scritches and admiration on a daily basis!  Working on: His confidence when he’s around unfamiliar people and in situations outside his established circle—Oberon can exhibit mild fear and tension in these situations. With your support and encouragement, and maybe from a canine sibling too, he can overcome these fears and become the silly boy we know and love! Once you have established his trust, Oberon will prove to be a devoted and steadfast companion, worthy of his title and status. Oberon also continues to practice riding in a car, and it may take a moment for him to become familiar with your particular chariot. Dream home: A kingdom with plenty of snacks and hindquarter scritches! Sir Oberon, the noble bear-of-a-dog, is looking for a patient adopter who will teach him the rules of their castle so that this prince can blossom into a king. If you’d like to learn more about Oberon, our charming prince, please submit an adoption inquiry here: https://airtable.com/shr1nGkF2RcpTMHYQ  Please note: Our meet-and-greets take place in Weaverville, North Carolina. Story
Meet Guinevere! Guinevere is a beautiful princess who is looking for a loving home and eager to have a family of her very own! Big fan of: Big, soft beds, petting and playtime with dog friends. Although Guinevere loves nothing more than a good snooze on a nice bed, this girl loves playing with other dogs and is surprisingly agile for her size! She loves to ride in the car and is always ready for an adventure. She also enjoys long walks where she can explore and sniff around in quiet areas. Working on: Her comfortability with new people and places. Though Guinevere walks well on leash and loves to stop and sniff, she may hesitate when walking with a new person or in an unfamiliar place. Walking with another confident dog may help improve her confidence and keep her moving. Guinevere is hoping for a patient adopter who will help her feel more comfortable during on-leash walks. Dream Home: One with an adopter who understands that Guinevere has never had a home of her own, and that she will need some time to build her confidence. A confident resident dog who can help her learn the ropes would also be great! Last but not least, she’d love to have a comfy bed to settle into after a fun day. If you’d like to learn more about pretty princess Guinevere, please submit an adoption inquiry here: https://airtable.com/shr1nGkF2RcpTMHYQ  Please note: Our meet-and-greets take place in Weaverville, North Carolina. Story
Harlee is a social butterfly who greets men and women with tail wags and pleas for pets. Her nickname is Muffin, because she's so snuggly and cuddly and muffinlish-ish! Likes: Harlee is a morning girl who will greet you with butt wiggles that will make you laugh. She loves to snuggle on the couch and watch TV with you but is also up for a walk in the neighborhood to investigate her surroundings. Dislikes: Harlee is not a fan of small children, small dogs, or dogs who are her face. Personality: Harlee is polite – she waits patiently in her crate while dinner is being prepped and walks well on leash. She’s also a talker – she’ll have a whole conversation with you if you’re having fun. Did we mention she snores? Like, REALLY snores? Temperament: She is SUPER sweet and pretty laid back. She’s curious and engages with her people. Energy level: Moderate energy - Harlee likes to walk but she also loves to sit under the desk while you work or laze about in the sun on nice days. Favorite activities: Chilling in the sun, exploring her surroundings, snoring, walking, getting pets, and more to be found… Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Harlee prefers the company of large or x-large dogs who share their toys. She appreciates dogs that are calmer in nature - pups who are exuberant or overly excited seem to irritate her or put her on edge. No cats or small dogs for this girl. She also prefers to be in a home without small children. Teenagers would be fine. Not good with: Small children, cats, and small dogs. Housetrained: Yes! That makes life easier, right? Crate trained: Yes! She’s also crate trained! But she doesn’t necessarily need it. She does great when her people are away – either in or out of the crate. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? Harlee likes to wander and loves to sunbath, so she needs a fenced in yard Walks well on a leash? Harlee walks SO nicely on a leash. If you’re looking for a walking buddy, she’s your girl. Challenges: Harlee wants what Harlee wants and she’s sure that she should have it. Just be patient with her and be firm, and she’ll eventually move on to her next interesting adventure. She’s a bit possessive of her person, so she needs some work on not hogging the path to that person. Any Medical issues? Harlee has arthritis and is being treated for a low thyroid and Addison's disease. Addison's and thyroid are under control with medication and costs are reasonable. *Her foster is happy to answer any questions you may have about her care.* What would be the best kind of home? Harlee Quinn lives up to her namesake....she's a fun, flirty girl who is a delight to foster!! She's in foster care due to a military relocation, through no fault of her own. She has adjusted amazingly well to many changes in her life and truly deserves a stable family to call her own again. She would love a home with or without another dog sibling (although she prefers calmer dogs) and without small children. She will make her new family incredibly happy with her sweet, loving demeanor. Any adopter would be lucky to have her!

Story
My name is TJ and I came very close to not being here today because people kept handing me off and one of the people who took me home got in trouble at her apartment complex and she took me to a shelter waited outside of the shelter to turn me in.  I had a skin issue at the time and because of my size and the skin condition, I would have truly been euthanized.  But Critter Cavalry Rescue had me dropped off at their vet and they immediately took care of me and my skin condition and got me neutered.  I am the nicest Mastiff boy and I am 3 years old and weigh 85 pounds.  Everyone says I am a sweetheart and so kind and nice with everyone and most all other dogs not bigger than him.  NO CATS.  I love people and I love life!   I really want to have a family to take me home and let me sleep at the foot of their bed in a big dog bed and who will take him for adventure walks and hikes too!  If you want a gentle giant boy to love and who will love you back with everything in his soul…. Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   I am ready to find my REAL stable place in life and not get moved around.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 3, 2023, 11:33 am
