Story

Meet Jackson! He's 98 pounds of cuddly chaos in one sweet package. A great walking and hiking companion if worked with and given lots of encouragement. Great with adult people, other dogs, and cats. We've never had any issue with him being aggressive with any of those. He knows tricks/commands in English and español. He gets a bit jumpy and runs around a lot when excited and is super food motivated. He would come with Collars, a leash, food and water bowls, toys, and two partial bags of food. He is slightly reactive to small kids and some small animals running but is easy to redirect. We love him so much, it hurts our heart to have to do this but he needs attention we unfortunately can't give him. We believe he was abused in his past home and was found as a stray and had little info about him when he was adopted. He needs someone who can give him love and patience with the behaviors that come with an abused dog. He is only a year and 5 months old. Thank you for considering this angel.

Story

Meet Gisele, our favorite gentle giant. Through no fault of her own, Gisele found herself in a shelter after what is believed to have been a life spent as a breeder. Once she reached middle age, she was discarded at a pound, and her sweet nature quickly won over shelter staff, who worked hard to get her into rescue. At 5–6 years old, this beautiful brindle Mastiff is impossible not to love. She has only one eye- the other was surgically removed before she arrived but it doesn’t slow her down one bit. This beautiful lady tested heartworm negative at the shelter; however, she is currently being treated for Lyme (showing no signs of illness). Gisele is doing wonderfully with house training and thrives on a consistent routine. While she has had a few pee accidents, she’s making great progress and is well on her way to being fully potty trained. She’s deeply devoted to her people and appears to experience some separation anxiety, likely because she’s finally learning what it feels like to be loved. Although she currently stays in an indestructible crate when left alone, her foster family believes she may eventually do well with more freedom. During the day, she’s happiest curled up at her foster mom’s feet, snoring contentedly while mom works. Gisele lives peacefully with two dogs and even a cat, greeting every person and pet with a wagging tail. Her gentle, affectionate personality makes her a friend to everyone she meets. Despite her size, Gisele is easy to walk on a leash and enjoys short strolls around the neighborhood. She especially loves splashing in the lake near her foster home and takes every opportunity to wade into the water. Gisele has spent years giving to others; now it’s her turn to be cherished. She is a loving, loyal companion looking for a soft place to rest, a family to call her own, and plenty of head scratches. If you’re looking for a sweet, devoted best friend, Gisele may be the happy ending you’ve both been waiting for.
