Story
Meet Arlo! Arlo is a 4-year-old English Mastiff with a heart as big as he is. He came to us as a rescue in rough shape, but with time, patience, and lots of love, he has been fully rehabilitated and is now back to being a healthy, happy boy. He is up to date on all of his veterinary care and is ready for his next chapter. Arlo knows his basic commands, is well-mannered in the home, and is the definition of a gentle giant with the people he trusts. He is an extreme snuggler, a champion napper, and would happily spend his days lounging beside his favorite humans. If you're looking for a dog who loves to cuddle, Arlo is your guy. Because we want to set him up for lifelong success, it's important to be honest about the environment he needs. Arlo thrives in a quiet, predictable home with very few visitors. While he has always been wonderful with my own children, he is not comfortable with unfamiliar children that do not reside in the home.

Story
❤️ Meet Bandit! ❤️Bandit is a handsome 5-year-old large mixed-breed dog who weighs about 72 pounds. We think he may have some Mastiff and Boxer in his family tree, but without a DNA test, your guess is as good as ours! After spending the past several years as a beloved family companion, Bandit is once again looking for a home due to changes in his family's circumstances—not because of anything he did. Thanks to those years in a home, we know exactly what a wonderful dog he is.Bandit is the definition of a gentleman. Calm, affectionate, and easygoing, he's happiest when he's simply spending time with his people. Whether he's relaxing indoors in the air conditioning, strolling politely by your side on a walk, or soaking up pets and attention, Bandit is content just being part of the family. One of Bandit's greatest strengths is how wonderful he is with children. His former family describes him as incredibly patient and gentle, happily accepting hugs, pets, and all the attention kids have to offer. We've seen that same gentle nature at our adoption events. Although he was a little shy when he first arrived, it didn't take long for his friendly personality to shine. Volunteers quickly discovered why Bandit has become such a favorite—his calm, gentle nature, willingness to listen, and easygoing personality make him a joy to spend time with.. He's happy to meet new people, enjoys learning, walks beautifully on leash, and is such a good sport that he'll even patiently wear silly hats while everyone smiles and laughs! Bandit has done well with other dogs and has enjoyed playing with several Boxer friends over the years. He has excellent house manners, is treat motivated, already knows "sit," and is happily working on learning "paw," making him a fun partner for anyone who enjoys teaching new tricks.Like many dogs, Bandit isn't a fan of fireworks or thunderstorms, and he does have seasonal grass allergies that are easily managed with daily vitamins. Otherwise, he's an easy companion who is ready to settle into family life once again. Bandit's only requirement is a home without cats. If you've been looking for a calm, well-mannered companion with a heart as big as he is, Bandit may be the perfect match. He's already proven himself to be a loving family dog and is ready to begin his next chapter with a new family to call his own.Apply to meet Bandit at caninecollective.org.

Story
Meet Clarice 🐾100 lbs of love, personality, and lap-dog energy—Clarice is ready to be your one and only!.  This 7-year-old, 100 lb gal is a lovable supermutt, likely a Lab/mastiff-type mix with a strong, stocky build (and maybe a little bulldog mixed in). Clarice is the definition of a people dog. She absolutely lights up around humans, loves kids, and greets new friends with full-body wiggles and happy enthusiasm. She’s a cuddler at heart and truly believes she belongs in your lap—despite her size! She’s also smart and well-trained, having gone through our prison obedience program, so she comes with a great foundation and knows her commands. Clarice enjoys car rides, loves her rubber and tough chew toys, and brings a fun, playful energy to everyday life.Clarice’s love for humans does not extend to her own kind. She needs to be the only pet in the home and is not a match for households with other dogs or animals. In return, she will give you all the loyalty, affection, and companionship you could ever want. She is used to living in a home and lost it through no fault of her own. Clarice is ready to settle back into family life and is hoping for a forever home that will truly be forever. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will keep you laughing, keep you company, and happily claim your entire couch… Clarice just might be your girl. ❤️. Story
Meet Mudge! Momma Mudge is a 5 year old, 85 pound Mastiff Mix. "Mudgey" came into rescue super pregnant and gave birth just hours after entering her foster home. She had a very long and difficult birth, but ended up successfully raising three adorable puppies! Those puppies were all adopted into their forever homes and now it's Mudge's turn! Mudge is a very relaxed girl, perfectly content to snooze on the couch or sunbathe outside. While she likes to take walks, she does pull her leash quite a bit, so she will need some additional training with her forever home to become her best self on a stroll. Mudge's ideal home would have a fenced in yard for her to explore and sunbathe in! Mudge does great in her crate and will go in there on command. She sleeps in her crate at night without making a peep! Mudge has had minimal bathroom accidents while in her foster home. Mudge is fostered with other dogs, cats and kids. Mudge has been fantastic with all humans in her foster home - she especially loves her 7 and 11 year old human foster siblings. She is a great shadow with her people, following them around from room to room to make sure no one is doing anything too exciting that she may need to involve herself in! Mudge does well with the foster dogs in her home that are more calm and relaxed. She can get a little cranky with her younger, more energetic canine friends get in her face or in her space and will warn them to back off. Ideally, Mudgey would share a home with another older, relaxed dog that is happy to co-exist, or have a forever home all to herself. She has met two kittens while in foster care and is very interested in figuring out just what the heck those little creatures are! Mudge has been through it, but through it all, she has been resilient and sweet. She is so ready to find her forever home and live her best days - just as she deserves! If Mudge seems like a good fit for your family - apply today! Mudge's adoption fee is $275. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
BONDED PAIR WITH LUTHER (https://www.adoptapet.com/pet/37838939-cincinnati-ohio-labrador-retriever-mix). Lenny is a very sweet "gentle giant" who loves a good lean to show you he loves you. We love our Lenny so much, but since we had our 2 kids we have not been able to give our pups the attention they deserve. Lenny is a big guy and is slightly blind, so walks slowly and takes a while to get the lay of the land. He's a big couch potato otherwise, and loves to get pets and snuggles. Lenny is great with other dogs and kids, but does tend to be shy with other dogs and given we adopted him from SPCA, has some anxiety before he feels comfortable. Because he is shyer and more timid, we'd love to keep Lenny with his older brother, Luther (also listed on adoptapet), so please consider if you can take both pups home to a loving home!
